  1. I agree that Mine That Bird will be the fave for the Belmont, and most likely will win it...especially since he has the breeding for it (Birdstone). I actually hope they do NOT run Rachel Alexandra in the Belmont...I just have a not-so-good feeling about that for her, and would be worried. Sharon
  2. YAY RACHEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO excited!! Sharon
  3. Hi Melanie! thanks for your reply! I agree with what was said later in the thread that many of these have been played into the ground unfortunately.... Some of my faves are Crystal Ball, Man in the Wilderness, Foolin' Yourself (Angry Young Man), Loreli, Suite Madame Blue. Def have to say that Crystal Ball is my top fave though. Damn song brings me to tears nearly every time I hear it! I do have a special place in my heart for Too Much Time on my Hands, but that is a whole 'nother story as to why. Sharon
  4. Did anyone listen to Sirius/XM today? Tommy Shaw was the guest DJ on the 70's channel from 12-1 PM EST. Melanie---what got you into Styx? and what is your fave song..have you seen them live? Sharon
  5. Meaning that I was very surprised that he would give up the ride on the Derby winner...but then again, that is one good filly, so i can also understand that perspective. I just can't recall offhand any jockey giving up a Derby winner ride, though, so hence my "wow" to hearing this news for the first time from your post...that's all. Peace-- Sharon
  6. If you do...enjoy! And let me know what you think. Sharon
  7. Hi ZeppFanForever! I know what you mean about appreciating certain songs/etc later in life...I even have different appreciation for certain Zep songs now than I did "back in the day"! And yes, you answered my question just fine...thanks! If you do get a chance to see Styx these days, I think you would enjoy their current lineup. Tommy and JY just keep Rockin'!!!, but have some excellent help doing so these days...... Sharon
  8. ZeppFanForever-- Just curious, since you were the one that started the thread, if you have seen Styx in concert anytime over the past few years (meaning more recently, rather than "back in the day"), and just wondered what you thought of their current lineup/etc if you have seen them. Sharon
  9. Actually Todd replaced the poor deceased drummer (John Panozzo), and Lawrence Gowan replaced Dennis DeYoung (thank god! LOL!! ). Now Lawrence...there is some talent in that boy! You may not think they are "Stynx" these days...or then again, you might.... Sharon
  10. LOL!!! Even funnier considering that this was a tour about 5-6 years ago.....apparently the people that put that STYX/REO/Journey tour together thought the same thing as your friend!! Sharon
  11. Hi L7! Yes, Jack Blades was with Night Ranger, prior to Damn Yankees. And LOL to DY getting drowned out in the cacophony of grunge!!!!!!! Sharon
  12. Correct---Tommy came in later (see above, Zepfan's corrected post). Actually Styx and REO have done a few tours together in the past decade, and even put out a live CD called Arch Allies a few years ago. They are also touring together again this summer. Check out www.Styxworld.com for tour dates. As to Mr Roboto...suffice it to say the finished product was LIGHT years from the "rough draft" and NOT for the good, in my opinion. I think Dennis got his hands on it too much--shoulda left it as it was!! As to Damn Yankees, I think it was good for Tommy if for no other reason than he got to hook up with Jack Blades and make a few discs with him over the years ...the last one being about 1 1/2 years ago or so (a really good disc of songs they cover that were influential to them growing up). And they did a mini-tour together to promote that disc, too. Sharon
  13. Hi everyone! I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has posted these FABULOUS pics the past couple days. There are several I have never seen before. Beautiful!!!!!! Thanks again! Sharon
  14. LOL!!! I agree--they should have hit him over the head with the microphone!!! ROFL!!!! Sharon
  15. LOL!!! about Borel. But I have to say, he cracks me up. I kinda like him. But I do agree the horse probably won't win another leg of the Triple Crown. this all being said, who i REALLY can't stand is that arrogant trainer...can't remember his name/don't want to. i thought he was SOOO rude/arrogant towards the media/reporters. It was an embarrassment the way he acted on BOTH interviews (pre/post race) to the poor NBC people. I mean it is the Kentucky Derby..you KNEW it was going to be a media circus!! Be gracious, and just enjoy the fact you got there, and then WON the damn race!! JEEEESH...I have no use for the guy.... Sharon
  16. WOW!!! I go away without my laptop for several days about a week ago, and I am SOOOO far behind!!! But it was fun catching up on the 6+ pages (<---no pun intended! ) that I missed. GREAT pics everyone. All I can say is HELLLOOOOOO, JIMMY!!!!!! LOL! ! And a very happy belated birthday to Diana-Loura!!! Sharon PS....loved the pic with Jimmy and Groucho..interesting juxtaposition..."When Worlds Collide". LOL!!!
  17. WOW!!! I love these 2 pics!!!! Outrider????? Thanks!!!!! Sharon
  18. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How cool---and sounds like he was in london (according to later post in this thread), so it could have been! Good spotting!...I would have had heart failure, too, to see him so unexpectedly. Sharon
  19. WOW!! That IS unexpected..no wonder you almost got in a crash. LOL!! I am assuming this billboard may have been with Allison Kraus, too?? Sharon
  20. And it's the Jimmy I fell in love with 30+ years ago. Wait--I'm not THAT old am I?!?! Sharon
  21. I agree that the cigarette pic may have just been for "show" for this pic, because you just never see cig pics of JP anymore..and there used to ONLY be cig pics! LOL!! And if you notice, it looks like it was just lit not very long before pic was taken. He looks too good/too healthy to still be smoking at the old rate he used to. But I guess only he (or Ross!) knows for sure!! Sharon PS--SPACEWOMAN---LOOOOOOVE the new batch of pics you posted!! I hadn't seen some of these before--LOVED the last one from 1984!!!!!! had never seen it..where was this from, do you know? Thanks!
  22. That was my first thought when I saw him last night too.."YIPPEEE!! HE DIDN'T CUT HIS HAIR!!!!!!". LOL! gosh, I'm shallow. Seriously though, he looked AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! And SOOOO happy/smiling/laughing. I am SO HAPPY I recorded this, so I can watch it over and over on a big screen, instead of youtube. I thought is was SO great when he and Jeff Beck palyed together!!!!!!!! Great night. I guess to sum it up succinctly how I felt about it all/how he looked.. >THUD< Sharon PS--SO nice to see our Silver Fox live on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. This photo made me LOL!! What is the story behind this one..anyone know?? Wondered what this funny expression was about..or just the click of the shutter capturing a "moment"? Sharon
  24. Spacewoman-- You have some GREAT pics...but I really did like this one a lot, with the young/old side by side--looks really kinda like the song really DOES remain the same??!!!??!! especially in regards to the guitar playing/stances/etc in these pics. Sharon
