  1. Thank you. I know how important quitting is. I definitely don't want my son to smoke one day. I don't smoke around him, and it's not hard to hide from a toddler. But one day he was outside with me and saw me smoking. Seeing as he really didn't know what it was, he thought it was food and wanted it. It broke my heart, and I knew I had to quit. I don't plan on buying another pack after the one I have, and I have gotten to where a pack will last me several days.
  2. 1. Quit smoking. I'm not just saying that, I plan on doing it any day now. My record for longest without a cig was a day in a half, so that's some progress for right now. 2. Start exercising again. I took the first step to this, and bought some shape-ups with my christmas money. I use them for the treadmill and running errands. They're these "magic shoes" that claim to promote weight loss. We'll see.
  3. I failed my national exam to be a certified medical coder with a freakin 68!!!! Turns out, I did perfect on the coding part, but my 3 areas of weakness were topics that my teacher never taught us. And they really had nothing to do with coding. Going to take it again in March. Hopefully I'll do better since I know what to expect.
  4. I saw Taking Woodstock a few days ago. Its not about the music, but more about the spirit of woodstock, like free love and drug experimental. The main guy had like 2 or 3 homosexual encounters, lol. It wasn't what I expected, It was kind of artsy. I really enjoyed it though.
  5. R.I.P. John Lennon, Dec 8, 1980 & Dimebag Darrell Dec 8, 2004
  6. I finally got my laptop back from geeksquad today. It's been about a month. Man those are some slow workers.
  7. Hey guys Haven't been around lately because my laptop is being repaired. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! What made me happy today is I bought B is for Bob, a Bob Marley album for kids, on sale at Target for $6.50. PLUS, I got a 1 yr subscription of Parents magazine included in the purchase of the C.D.
  8. He will be Batman. His most favorite thing in the world, besides hotwheels. (That's why I have batman in my sig, plus its my favorite part in the movie.)
  9. Thank you tangerine. He is wonderful. I don't think I could have gotten through this without him. I'm happy that were taking our son trick-or-treating tonight after the viewing. Grandpa wouldn't have wanted him to miss his first Halloween. Plus it should put us in a better mood after a sad event.
  10. Thank you ninelives, and eternal light. The viewing is tomorrow. This will be the first time I will see him since he passed. I tried to rush to my dads house last night, hoping I could make it in time to say goodbye. His house is about an hour away, and he had already passed and the funeral home had already taken him when I got there. For some reason, my dad didn't call me until 30 minutes before he passed.
  11. My boyfriend just surprised me with the new pink camera I had been wanting for over a year. He thought it would cheer me up since I've been sad about my grandpa. R.I.P. grandpa, your with grandma now.
  12. Thank you so much for you kind words Charlie, Virginia, Patrycja, and Fan S. They are much appreciated.
  13. I lost my grandpa last night to emphysema. It was around the same time my grandmother passed last year. Nov 1st.
  14. Speaking of blues clues. My one year old has 2 dvd's of it. I always have ALL of the songs on that show stuck in my head, because they sing the same songs in EVERY episode.
  15. I'm even considering getting my son the vaccine. And I'm very partial to vaccines, seeing as they have been linked to Autism. And the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine has been linked to Guillain-Barre syndrome. Don't get me wrong, my son has had all his vaccinations. But that doesn't mean I don't fret over them. Good luck on staying healthy! I would suggest carrying some hand sanitizer with you when out in public. I even spray my basket with lysol, and wipe it down before I put my son in it. People look at me like I'm crazy.
  16. My boyfriend has been playing this game called Brutal Legend. There is an attack that's called Bring It On Home. It summons a burning zeppelin of lead, and crashes on all who appose you. (Those are the actual words from the manual.)
  17. My mother-in-law, who I live with, has the flu. The Dr. says it could possibly be swine flu. I am so scared that my toddler might get it. It's almost impossible NOT to get it in the area I live in. I have been spraying everything with lysol, and using hand sanitizer like crazy today.
  18. I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but I have the same problem with numbers. I have to put the radio or television volume on an even # or my family will die. Should this be in the Ask Auntie thread? What I'm currently reading: My Medical Office Coding textbook.
  19. I haven't had a Marlborough since the 19th. Almost 2 weeks, so now were getting somewhere. I have only been smoking about 3-4 self-rolled cigarettes a day, and the tobacco is additive free. I couldn't quit cold-turkey because I just started back to school. This is my final and hardest semester before I graduate, and I didn't want to blow it by not being able to concentrate from withdrawals.
  20. That does sound like it works. But I actually went and bought a mild facial bar of soap, and a jar of ponds moisturizer. Altogether about 6 bucks. My face feels better already. I never really had sensitive skin before, but it could have possibly resulted from pregnancy. That has some unusual long term effects on your body. (Somewhat long term, it's been a year).
  21. A few years ago my Grandmother gave me witch-hazel, and that worked pretty good. But I haven't seen that in any store lately. To my grandparents, it was one of those things that would cure anything that ails ya. Kind of like Campho phenique. Which, speaking of, is kind of what noxzema smells like.
  22. I'm using noxzema right now and I think it might be making the dryness worse. I'm wondering since I don't have an acne problem, is the face wash to harsh (seeing as it's for acne), and possibly causing the redness? I do have some blackheads though, are there any recommended astringents?
  23. $12 for 1 bottle or a kit? Is there anything in the St. Ives line for redness?
