  1. I just got cable & high speed internet Thursday: I feel like I'm in a new century! Since then I've been mostly watching TCM, right now American in Paris (I LOVE Gene Kelly!). I'm sure I'll still watch a lot of PBS like before. They have a series on once in a while called Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge. If you like photography (mostly nature, some cultural), it is stunning. They follow him as he goes to various locations and photographs them. The cinematography and especially his still photographs are amazing. It would be so cool if Robert hired him to go along on his travels to document them in pictures! http://travelstotheedge.com/ http://www.artwolfe.com/index.php#mi=1&pt=0&pi=4
  2. The new version of Sonny Landreth's "Levee Town", a used copy of John Hiatt's "Little Head", and Etta James & Eddie Vinson's "The Late Show" (live). I got "The Late Show" after hearing that version of Baby What you Want Me To Do? on the radio: "Mama cooked a chicken; she thought it was a duck, she put it on the table with its legs cocked up..." I have another live cd by Etta James, which I bought after seeing her on Austin City Limits. She is so incredible live! For some reason when I hear her I think of Robert. Maybe because she's so horny!
  3. Now I'm listening to the "Spiritchaser" cd, by Dead Can Dance. Perfect nighttime music!
  4. I'm listening to "Uncle Mike" Malloy on the radio (an independent program on the local air america affiliate).
  5. I got Johnny Damas-it's the only one of his I bought that I didn't like. Bone Days is great & I love Madness & the Moremes very much too.
  6. John Trudell: Madness & The Moremes I thought it was pronounced like More EMES-like krispy KREMES-but it's More MEs-doh! I haven't listened to it yet, but I LOVE the other ones I have by him (AKA Graffiti Man & Bone Days-both spoken word w/band, and: DNA-Descendant Now Ancestor, which is a lecture/poetry reading). There's a great documentary about him called Trudell, also. He suffered an even more horrible tragedy than Robert Plant: in 1979 his then pregnant wife, 3 children (ages 1, 3 & 5), and mother-in-law died in a fire at their home. At the time Trudell was in Washington DC protesting. The circumstances of the fire were suspicious, but arson was never proven. Among his friends/fans are Kris Kristofferson, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne & Bob Dylan. The first 3 appear in the documentary, along w/Robert Redford. He's made a few small appearances in movies. He is a (Native American) activist, poet, artist and visionary. I wish more people knew about him-the world would be a better place.
  7. Oh lord I think I just died & went to heaven! I have snail speed internet so it will take forever to get thru 157 pages, but I have all the time in the world...Normally the fact that I have no life makes me very unhappy, but in this case, if I can "waste" my time looking at Robert, I won't mind so much
