I was there with the now Mrs JTM, went to the 11th performance because that's the one that had the NB's. The weather was good, not too hot. We got in the arena early plonked ourselves about two thirds of the way back from the stage and stayed there until  the Zeppelin stage rush when we moved to about half way back where the crowd had thinned out so we still had room to stretch out, everybody around us was sat down (more like lying down), one ignorant fucker stood up blocking the view when asked to sit down didn't he got canned so he immediately put his arse down. There looked to be mayhem in front of the stage so we were glad we were nowhere near it.

The NB's turned out to be a little disappointing after all the press hype that they had, the wait for them to come on was excruciating, even more so the wait for "the headliners".  Oh yeah, "the headliners", they were ok, glad we went as in the end it turned out to be their last home gig. Forty years ago today, wow....

Big let down the NB's. Just a wall of noise!!

Sorry to come in late as i was away last week and the stress of what's been happening here. I was at the first show as a long haired greasy kid of 17. What a day and I remember loads of it. Hot day and the boys were  just great if not a tad quick out of the blocks.

Ha ha. I too was also 17 at the time of both gigs, but only by 30 odd days!!

  4. ....and just popping in again on the 40th anniversary of the second weekend at Knebworth. A very poignant memory as this proved to be the last ever performance by the original members as Led Zeppelin in the UK.

So 'greetings' to my fellow Knebworthonians for the second weekend.

Nice one Pilot. Didn't see you there but we made up for it by meeting at the O2.

40 years gone, 2 consecutive Saturdays spent in a field but I think it was worth the effort.

Ah, there you are ledded1. Was wondering where you were. In the queue for the bogs perhaps?

A crazy couple of weekends indeed, but well worth it. Man, we were so fortunate to make the O2 and to meet beforehand. Cherished memories.

So I ordered the super deluxe box set from LZ.com ages ago, thinking this was the honourable thing to do.... and it's not yet in my hands!!! Very frustrating. Received an email on the eve of the release (6th) from Music Glue stating the following:

"Please allow up to 10 business days for your order to arrive. If your order has not arrived by September 20 please get in touch by replying to this email."

WTF!! Really expected better service than that.

Finally got my hands on it today (11th)!!! Blasting out now. Me: Happy Bunny. Wife: Not so Happy Bunny 😁

I pre-ordered from Amazon some of the 2016-17 Led Zeppelin remaster campaign super deluxe releases within an hour of them becoming available and received higher numbers than those of people who ordered elsewhere long afterward. It's something to do with how they are distributed. You have to hope your supplier is processed first or early on. In this case, it seems the batch for the LZ.com customers was not among the first to be distributed.

That'll teach me then! You'd expect LZ.com would mail first, but clearly not. Amazon from now on. At least with them you generally have your hands on your stuff on the day of release.

Nah the pub has now been turned into 4 "affordable" homes. Smoking ban and Tesco selling beer cheaper than water paid to that

Wow, nice to get a call out on this forum! I haven't posted in forever but wanted to say 'hi' to Pilot, Paul, Helen, Celia and all the other friends I met on this magical day. The night before at the Worlds End was epic, and yes I remember trying to find Helen at Canary Wharf! You all are memorialized in the artwork I had created to remember this event as I have the picture we took at TGIF @ Canary Wharf in the frame. Paul has seen it since he visited me in Chicago on his Tour of America last year. You are all very special people and I feel honored to have shared this event with all of you!

Nice to hear from you Vince

Pilot, brspled and other old boarders met up for a meal before the show. Quite a few of us met up the night before after collecting our wristbands n tickets. They were fabulous gatherings of people from around the world. And we are all still friends in real life.

...you mean eventually met up. Boots Chemist, that's all I'm saying ;)
