  1. Just For Old Time's Sake - The McGuire Sisters
  2. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - The Smashing Pumpkins
  3. There's definitely a coincidence between the two songs, at least to my ears. I think it was on the very first incarnation of this board (back when I first joined in 2004) where someone brought it up and when I listened to both songs I was like......okay yeah, I see it.
  4. Rumors are just that. Rumors. It's been nearly 2 years since that show and if news hasn't come out by now about there being a potential DVD release, then I don't think there will be one for a while. Look how long it took them to release ANY live footage on DVD. The 2003 DVD came 23 years after the band split up. I'm not saying we'll have to wait another 23 years but I wouldn't expect anything by Christmas.
  5. In Through The Out Door - Led Zeppelin
  6. Just in case I got my wires crossed up somewhere, my post was directed at Steve, not you Hotplant.
  7. Anyone graduating from college, no matter their degree, is going to have debt. It doesn't matter if you went into teaching (like my sister), business (like me) or medicine (like them). Obviously medical school is extremely expensive, so their debts will be more than mine or yours or my sister's or anyone else's. That doesn't mean however, those people go into private practice solely to make money. I'm sure the prospect of being able to pay off those debts faster than those who choose to work in hospitals is very, very alluring, but to say that they all take that particular route for the sake of the almighty dollar is not only insulting to them, it's painting them all with a very broad brush. I don't doubt that there are med school grads who take private practice to mean the fast track to easy street and a debt-free 20s and 30s, but I would bet they are in the minority. Not everyone who chooses to be a doctor (or a lawyer, even) does so just to make a lot of money. Some people, and I know this is strange to you, some people do so because they truly want to help others and the money is merely a side effect.
  8. Very tough to choose between Trampled Underfoot, Kashmir and Ten Years Gone, but I went with Ten Years Gone.
  9. I love how when you have Fast Reply enabled, you just click inside the box and you have all the formatting available to you, instead of before when you'd have to do a full reply if you didn't feel like typing out the codes. Also, I love how easy inserting links, pics and media into posts is now. Excellent, excellent job Sam.
  10. A gorgeous deep-space video set to a beautiful instrumental. Just David and Rick on the guitar and piano - truly sublime.
  11. The ads are a deal I believe, between YouTube and iTunes, in order to direct business. You're listening to a song by say.......Goldfrapp and an ad will appear letting you know you can buy the song in iTunes. I like what they want to do with that, I just wish they'd find a less obnoxious way of instituting it. The best thing I can tell you is watch your tags. There's no rhyme or reason behind why some videos are still allowed up and why others are not. If you tag the video with words that have nothing to do with the video, you might be able to escape getting it flagged. Other than that, if there's a copyright infringement, they legally have to either remove the video or disable the audio.
  12. I had no problem discerning it was her opinion about 384739847298439 posts ago. So why it took you so long to catch up is a different story.
  13. Not to carry this inanity on any longer than it needs to, but if for example we're having a discussion about Led Zeppelin's albums and I say, "In Through The Out Door is not that good as compared to other albums they released".....shouldn't it be obvious to all and sundry that I am stating my opinion? If I was stating a fact, I would post some links, some numbers, an article.....something that would back up what I'm saying, as that's what you do when stating a fact. When stating an opinion, you merely say it and then see if people either agree with you or disagree with you. Jumping down someone's throat because they didn't post a disclaimer before a statement that was clearly an opinion is just you (universal "you") looking for an argument.

  15. ldw......you can succumb to Twilight as long as you don't become a Twihard. You know those people.....the ones who would use a special Twilight dildo. I read about that on Dlisted. I couldn't believe it.
  16. I must admit, as much as I read and watch and listen to on this subject, I have not heard of that until now. What specifically is the "nuclear option" and is there an article online somewhere so I can get more acquainted on the subject?
  17. Don't be down. Helen, don't say that. You contribute so much to all threads, not just the musical ones.
  18. Holy shit, that's more talking points than I thought could be crammed into one post. THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE GOVERNMENT OF SCOTLAND. He could stamp his feet, yell and scream and throw things until the cows came home, at the end of the day the decision rested with the government of Scotland and the government of Scotland alone. Maybe you're one of those people who think the President of the United States should be able to make some pronouncement from the White House and everyone merely runs at his bidding when he snaps his fingers. It doesn't work that way. There was absolutely NOTHING the United States could have done to prevent this from happening, short of some kind of armed insurrection. Hey, maybe that's what you were looking for. To call the President of the United States un-American because he doesn't have the thought-making processes of the last guy is absolutely asinine. You wouldn't know what an un-American was if it slapped you in your Rush O'Hannity listener face.
