  1. My dinner at the moment; grilled sausages and peppers with couscous.
  2. Our air conditioner is not working upstairs. Our downstairs unit runs just fine, but the other one is spitting out only "coolish" air, not cold. Which sucks because while it's not humid outside, it's really warm and as you know, heat rises. So it's stifling upstairs, even with windows open, fans and ceiling fans on. Pish.
  3. I don't have a desk, I have a laptop so techinically my legs are my desk. And on my legs currently are clothes. Namely, my shorts because it's hotter than hell in here.
  4. You're using the wrong format to post pictures. You put the url to the image between img tags. [*img]linkgoeshere[*/img] subtract the asterisks and there you go.
  5. Take heed of what Eleanor Roosevelt said: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
  6. Grilled chicken, Mexican rice and veggies. My dad is the true Grillmaster.
  7. BTW, venti is Italian, not French.
  8. My all-time favorite vegetarian dish, spinach lasagne: Ingredients: •1 pound "no-boil" lasagne •36 ounces chopped or crushed tomatoes •3 cloves garlic, crushed •1 T. dried oregano •1 T. dried parsley •1 pound ricotta cheese •3 ounces grated Parmesan cheese •8 ounces grated mozzarella cheese •2 eggs, slightly beaten •10 ounces frozen chopped spinach Preparation: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Put the frozen spinach in the bowl of a food processor, and process until broken up and nearly flaked. Add the garlic, oregano, parsley, ricotta, eggs, and mozzarella. Process briefly until the mixture is uniform. Pour about 1/4 of the tomatoes on the bottom of a 9" by 13" baking pan. Cover the pan with a layer of lasagne noodles (uncooked). Spread 1/3 of the spinach/cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat two more times with tomatoes, noodles, and spinach/cheese mixture, ending with a layer of plain noodles on the top. Pour the remainder of the tomatoes on top of the noodles. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil, and bake for an additional 15 minutes. If any of the noodles have not softened after the first hour, carefully tuck them under the sauce to be sure that they will soften during the final baking period. Let the lasagne sit for about 10 minutes before serving.
  9. I had a very busy day today. Three loads of laundry, upstairs vacuuming, re-arranging the furniture in my bedroom and cleaning our bathroom. Thank God it's almost over.
  10. Nick Mason was quoted as saying that the things the band had to put behind them enough to do Live 8 were by no means trivial. As a fan, I'm grateful they gave all of us 20 minutes of their time, they could have very easily told Geldof to fuck off. Would I have liked more? Hell yes, but there's no way on God's green earth David Gilmour and Roger Waters will ever share the stage again without killing each other. I'd much rather listen to David's solo stuff and see him live in concert anyway. Let each of them do their own thing.

  12. Nope, first half of the show was Animals. Second half of the show was Wish You Were Here, Money, Us And Them and then Careful With That Axe, Eugene. Roger threw that last one in because the audience didn't piss him off that night. How magnaminous of him.
  13. THANK YOU! This seems to happen to me everywhere I go that requires you to order off a giant menu. A couple of weeks ago, I was meeting my mom at her office for lunch, and she wanted McDonalds. So I said I'd swing by and pick her up her fave (Filet o' Fish) and meet her in 30 minutes. I was stuck behind some old fart who probably fought in the Civil War, who couldn't make up his mind between a cheeseburger and a hamburger. I swear, one day I am going to write a book called Don't Be Stupid, Stupid and devote the first 4 chapters to people who can't make up their damn minds in restaurants.
  14. Warning, foul language ahead. Stupid motherfuckers who can't fucking make up their fucking minds when they're in line at fucking Starbucks. So earlier this evening I was getting my usual mocha frapp and a piece of coffee cake, when the insipid twit in front of me decides to spend an entire epoch figuring out whether she wanted hazelnut syrup or vanilla syrup in her latte. I have to pick up my sister from her sorority's initiation practice and I don't want to leave her standing around looking like an idiot. So I finally tap the woman on the shoulder and ask her if she'd step out of line to figure out what she wants so that I can order and then leave, and she says "Why, I was here first?" Stupid goddamn twit.
  15. Is it acceptable to wish the Brits here a Happy St. George's Day if you're not English? I remember the furor over non-Irish saying Happy St. Patricks Day. In any event, Happy St. George's Day. I don't know what you today, but have a good time.
  16. No, they are not metal. They influenced metal heavily, but they themselves are not metal. The same as AC/DC is not metal and KISS is not metal. The whole wailing screaming front man and huge emphasis on drums and guitar definitely became the hallmark of the metal sound, you could even say that STH is the first "power ballad", but Led Zeppelin was and always be a hard rock band.
  17. That's all well and good, but my opinion is my opinion. Why you chose to quote a post over a year old is beyond me.
  18. Girl, you don't need this trouble. Talk to your boyfriend, let him know that you are not happy. If he is half the man he should be, he'll talk to the guy and tell him to climb off your ass.
  19. Downloaded some new PF boots. I'm going to enjoy listening to them tonight.
  20. Maybe he/she meant that it's not a popular holiday in England. According to this article I am reading, it wasn't until the late 20th century that Halloween celebrations were popularised, in part due to American cultural influences, like movies and TV. It seems your version of Halloween is celebrated on the 30th.
  21. Animal Instincts is one of my favorites. I love the Middle Eastern vibe to David's solo in Pigs (Three Different Ones). Very cool. Maybe my ears are tricking me, but I thought I heard it. Edit: Whoops, got my boots mixed up. The Middle Eastern vibe is in Welcome To The Machine. Sorry 'bout that.
  22. Thank you for all the kind words, I appreciate it.
