    Yup, it's the Triathlon.

I thought it was disrespectful, as the Games are supposed to transcend politics. I felt if they wanted to protest what was going on in the United States at the time, they could have chosen a more appropriate way to do it. For example, in the very same Olympics, Vera Caslavska, a Czechoslovakian gymnast, protested the Soviet invasion of her country (which occurred months before the Games started) by quietly turning her head during the Soviet anthem. No obnoxious display, just quiet protest. If you're going to make a statement, make one with dignity.

Yes, Beijing is 12 hours ahead of eastern time.

Let's talk about the Olympics now! Who here thinks Michael Phelps will break Mark Spitz's record? I think he has a real legitimate shot at that, and becoming the all-time winningest Olympian. I hope he can do it.
  5. Don't get me wrong, I was a cheerleader in HS and so was my sister. I think most cheerleaders are tremendous athletes to do what they do, especially with all the gymnastics. But the women in skirts that barely cover their asses, in tops that barely cover their nipples, prancing around in heels for 3 hours shaking it for drunk football fans? Not cheerleading.
  6. "we have now won the war" "their anti-American bias" Ooooh, that's rich.
  7. Well yeah, I'm a chick. Women shaking their tits doesn't interest me. That said, if it has nothing to do with the game, it shouldn't be there. It's just stupid, IMHO.
  8. I go to sporting events to see the teams play, not a bunch of half-naked women shaking their fake tits. If I want to see that, I'll go to Hooters.
  9. I prefer the album version of Sound of Silence over the single version, which you can find on their debut. I think the simple acoustic guitar and bass compliment the lyrics better, as it was written in the wake of the Kennedy assassination and it's supposed to be someone somber. The label overdubbed electric guitar, bass and drums on and released it without their knowledge, naturally it would become their biggest hit.
  10. Bookends is great, but Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme is my favorite. This would be my ranking...... PSR&T Bookends BOTW Sounds of Silence Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. If you would like a couple song recommendations, check out For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her, Old Friends/Bookends and Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. I think those three show off their strongest attributes best.
  11. SAJ is the resident ego of the board. Don't you dare insult his intellect. He knows all. Don't question it.
  12. And herein lies your biggest problem. Naturally we all care what others think of us, but the rest of us don't allow it to control our lives. You have to start caring about what YOU think and less about what THEY think. Opinions and input are always great but at a certain point you need to rely on your own thinking.
  13. Man gets life in prison for 10th DUI Good. Fuck him. He has shown himself to be a habitual offender and a menace. If he was on his 10th bank robbery, we'd put him in jail for life, right? This has just as much potential to end lives. I swear, some people are too stupid to breathe. Edit: This is this man's 5th trip to prison now, I believe for the same offense. What a winner!
  14. Of course it's sad. He's a sleazebag if it's true. But it shouldn't be news. Now if he killed someone, raped someone, robbed a bank, got caught selling dope.....that's news. Fucking around on your wife is not news.
  15. Why do people even care in the first place? This isn't your life.

  18. I hope Sam DOESN'T shut this board down because of a small group of lunatics. That would piss me off to no end. You're basically admitting that they won.

I'm of German/Hungarian descent (partially) myself as well.
  20. Hey, it's been my experience that gay men know more about heterosexual relationships than most heteros do.
  21. I can't wait for the day when spats realizes no one here gives a shit about his pathetic sex life and just gives up. I cannot think of anyone else in the history of this board that has ever had as many threads devoted to their asshattery as this guy has. Scheisse.
