  1. I honestly don't know if there's going to be a season this year, or if there is, it'll be very abbreviated. Neither side appears willing to get anything done at the moment. All we've heard is they're putting the DH in the National League, which is damn stupid. They should be getting rid of it, not making more of it.
  2. I made some roasted potatoes with what I call "chicken smell", or the seasoning I always put on chicken when I bake it; paprika, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Not bad. Could be a lot worse. Take care everyone in the path of the storm.
  4. That's not unusual. Lake Placid had the Winter Olympics in 1980, Los Angeles had the Summer Olympics in 1984. Atlanta had the Summer Olympics in 1996, Salt Lake City had the Winter Olympics in 2002. The truth is, there are very few countries in the world with the ready-made infrastructure to host the Olympics, and China is one of them. What the IOC needs to do is instead of having countries bid on the Olympics, they just need to have a set choice of Summer Olympics venues and Winter Olympics venues and just rotate them. The countries that have had the most successful Olympics are the countries that don't need to build a shit-ton of infrastructure ahead of time. They've already got stadiums/arenas/pools/rinks/etc. that can be used for those sports.
  5. I feel bad for whoever else medals in the Ladies' competition because their moment of standing on the podium and getting their medal has been taken from them because of the same shit Russia has been doing since probably the 1950s. The culture of malfeasance in their international sports program has been going on for decades, and there's no indication it'll ever stop.
  6. Prince singing Purple Rain, in the rain? Yeah, that's never being topped. It's Prince. Everyone should watch and learn. THIS is how you do it.
  7. I had some sushi for lunch today. It was pretty good. I don't know if it qualifies as real sushi, since none of the fish was raw, but it was fish wrapped in rice and seaweed, so I say that counts. LOL
  8. People who walk their dogs off-leash are a scourge, and I'm tired of it. I don't care how well-behaved little Pumpkin is, unless you're in an area where dogs are allowed to be off-leash, put the goddamn leash on. I don't want your dog running towards me while I'm walking MY dog down the street. I'm terrified of strange dogs, whether they're a Yorkie or a Mastiff. I've almost been bitten twice because of these morons.
  9. I didn't give a sh!t about the game or the commercials, I was only interested in the Halftime Show, which was absolutely amazing. I wish Mary J. Blige did a bit of "Real Love," but otherwise, no complaints. I've been enjoying all the old fogies on Twitter complaining about the rappin' and the hippin' and the hoppin', but they'll get over it. It wasn't better than Prince in 2007 or U2 in 2002, but it was better than it's been in the last decade at least. I know they want to appeal to the widest possible audience, hence the over reliance on Classic Rock, but more than just Baby Boomers watch the Super Bowl.
  10. Yeah, I was scratching my head over that one too. A check is a check, I guess. You'd think between her show "Call Me Kat" and hosting Jeopardy, her bills were covered.
  11. I'm a Packers fan, as you well know, but I have to admit to being shocked Aaron Rodgers won the MVP award last night. One, Tom Brady had better numbers, and two, I thought his stupidity about the Big Nasty vaccine would have pissed off enough voters that they wouldn't give it to him. I'm more shocked Matt LaFleur lost Coach of the Year, however. What more does he need to do to get some respect? He walked into an impossible situation and has done a phenomenal job so far.
  12. It was 58 years ago today... (not the first song they did that night, but certainly one of them)
  13. People who put "TruckNutz" on their cars are dipshits. My dad and I were stuck behind one of these brainiacs on the way home from the grocery store this morning. Nothing says, "I have an IQ in the single digits" quite like a giant pair of rubber testicles hanging from your trailer hitch.
  14. LOL, yes really. When you have no money to replace it, even with a Windows laptop which is significantly cheaper, you're going to start crying. I was lucky that my sister was able to loan me the money to buy the laptop I'm currently typing this on, but if not for that, I'd have nothing.
  15. Makes me feel like I won the lottery. 😂😂😂
  16. Yes, and furthermore, yes. Jimmy's at Grand and Pulaski has THE best hot dog and fries I've ever had. Even better than Toot's (RIP).
  17. RIP Laptop, may you be mourned well. Last February, my MacBook finally died after 10 years of loving service, and I shit you not, I cried for about a couple of hours.
  18. This is so subjective, part of it is worth talking about, and part of it isn't. If I had to go with my Top 3, based solely on what I own and listen to most regularly, it would be Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles, but I know people who'd argue that The Beatles weren't strictly a rock band, but the latter third of their career was more rock-ish than pop.
