  1. Yes, pole for Räikkönen! Ferrari seems to be the fastest car at the moment, but Hamilton is still leading, thanks to Vettel's mistakes. Especially that crash in Germany cost him much.
  2. It has been sunny and warm for weeks now. I don't even remember the last time it rained.
  3. Season as a whole has been good, but Monaco was boring as usual. Next stop: Montreal. Should be better.
  4. Good race in Bahrain, Vettel wins again. Bottas was really close, couple of laps more and he probably would have passed. One of Ferrari's crew members was hurt during Kimi's second pit stop. Broke two bones from his leg. It's amazing how Ferrari always manages to ruin Kimi's race.
  5. The memorial of fallen officers is located next to the Reserve Officer School: "You did not fight in vain, you did not fall in vain"
  6. Hamina is also a military town. Here's the Reserve Officer School
  7. That's the orthodox church, really beautiful from the inside, too. Here's a picture from few years ago: Nice pics, by the way. We still have 30 centimetres of snow, so no flowers here
  8. More Hamina photos. The orthodox church: The Lutheran church looks like a Greek temple:
  9. Vettel wins. He was very lucky with the virtual safety car. Hamilton 2nd, Räikkönen 3rd.
  10. ^ Let's hope for the best and fear for the worst. Ferrari's and Red Bull's race pace looked good in the practices... but so did Mercedes
  11. Wow, Hamilton dominates in the qualifying. Kimi 2nd, good start for him, Vettel 3rd.
  12. Mercedes looks strong again. Halo safety system changes the visual look of the cars a bit:
  13. Ouch, Bottas crashes in the qualifying. He will probably start at the back of the grid.
  14. Thanks, LedZed66. Walking/skiing in forest is really relaxing, except when it's full of mosquitoes Next series of photos were taken last weekend in the small coastal town of Hamina. I'll post some more later. First, the beautiful old town hall:
  15. F1 season is here! First two practice sessions were today. Qualifying tomorrow, first race on sunday.
  16. I took these yesterday with my cell phone, when I was skiing in the forest.
  17. RIP Roger Bannister, the first person to run a sub-four-minute mile.
  18. Actually these were taken right after sunset. There's moon in the second picture. It's quite magical when it's clear skies and the moonlight is reflecting from the snow. Imagine skiing or walking in a snowy forest in this blue light, almost complete silence around you... amazing experience. Happy days indeed!
  19. Thanks. Looks like it's pretty cold everywhere in Europe. I was just checking out the sports news and it said they couldn't drive the F1 tests in Spain because of the snow.
