It's awesome but they don't ever get his face quite right, do they? Here he looks like Ritchie Blackmore; in the other statues he looks like Joe Perry.

That Gargantua movie was very surreal. It's weird how much I remembered from seeing it once when I was 5 or 6 years old, on tv. I kind of enjoyed Russ Tamblyn's laconic "I coudn't give a toss" acting style.

Update: judging from the index & photo gallery, it doesn't seem that the 1972 photo of JP is included in Carl Dunn's "This Is Rock 'n Roll" book. Perchance, is anyone here familiar with the 1995 Ross Halfin book "The Photographer's Led Zeppelin"? There are Carl Dunn photos in that. Sorry, I'm a bit obsessive. I'll take my meds now

Judging by his shirt (which I believe may be a pink crushed velvet number), I'm going to hazard a guess of 1969? It's been a while since I watched the "How the West Was Won" DVD, but I think this may be a still from one of the 1969 performances on there - you know where they're on a Danish television show or something. The U.K. fans/music cognoscenti never really "got" The Doors, I don't know why. Theories, anyone? Jim Morrison himself talked about this in an interview with a British journalist around the time of The Doors' Isle of Wight performance in 1970. Maybe it's just one of those instances (i.e. Cliff Richard) where the two cultures will have to agree to disagree.

Aerosmith's first album. I've been listening to the audio version of Steven Tyler's autobiography and it got me curious about their early stuff. Lots of Jimmy/Zep/Yardbirds content in said book; Steven's mad love for the Yardies in particular is sweet.
