  1. Does this not constitute proof? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/6195914.stm http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/oct/30/uk-security-crime We should be thankful our intelligence agencies are so effective in doing their job.
  2. Hi Melanie, Welcome to the forum. You sound like a lot of fun, just what we need on here. Magic
  3. Lots of potential terrorist attacks have been thwarted. If you think about attacks on the UK alone, thousands of lives have potentially been saved.
  4. I vote for TSRTS simply because there's no No Quarter on HTWWW.
  5. Having read a lot on renewable energy, I personally think wind farms are a good direction to go in. They're one of the few options available to 'windy' counrties like the UK, and much better than the nuclear option for obvious reasons. I find the opposition arguments rather weak to be honest. http://www.bwea.com/onshore/index.html
  6. I agree with you Reggie. As I said in my first post on this thread, the death of Bin Laden means justice for all those who lost loved ones on 9/11. Something a lot of members here seem to be overlooking. However, Al-Qaeda, or at least some variant of it, will continue, and as allies Britain and the US should focus on dealing with that.
  7. Many congrats on doing so well in your exam Kiwi! Enjoy your break, you certainly deserve it. I haven't seen The King's Speech yet. I must be of the few that hasn't. I'm hoping to finally get to see it sometime next week.
  8. That's true, Hitler was an advocate of what was called National Socialism in Nazi Germany. Although the term itself is somewhat of a contridiction since Marx never believed that socialism could thrive in nation states.
  9. I don't own many CD boxsets. The only two I have are the Led Zeppelin Remasters boxsets. I remember that the first Remasters boxset was my first Zeppelin purchase aged 15. I saved up for months to buy it, and I still treasure it today. In general, I prefer to buy individual albums. DVD boxsets, though, are another matter entirely. I have a serious addiction.
  10. My comments weren't aimed at you at all. There's no misinterpreting (at least on my part) going on. What I was saying is that we can't fight terrorism with the 'love thy enemy' mentality that some members, not including yourself, are subscribing to on here. Believe me, there's no 'flag waving' going on here either. Bin Laden had to be taken down, but there will inevitably be retaliation. No one wins in a sitaution like this.
  11. The members here who support the 'love thy enemy' line of argument are standing on very thin ground in my view. Al-Qaeda is an ideology that seeks to take over the world by creating extreme Islamic states in all territoires, including the US, through violence. Do you really think we can fight this kind of movement with love and compassion? If you think we can, you might as well surrender right now and relinquish all the rights you currently hold. Bin Laden deserved to die. I don't think I lack compassion for saying that.
  12. Justice at last, but the war goes on. He was 'buried at sea', rather his body was dumped in shark infested waters I hope!
  13. That particular outfit was by Vivienne Westwood. She is well known for her daring and eccentric designs. Not many people can get away with wearing them. Apologises for turning this into the fashion thread!
  14. ^^That's a bit cynical. I hope, and believe, that they'll follow the Queen's and Prince Philip's example and stay together through thick and thin. Cate I agree with you about the vulgar humour. It's not needed. Yes, there seems to a general consensus that Andrew's daughters were the worst dressed at the wedding. One of their outfits looked like it had been borrowed from the set of a pantomime! Also Victoria Beckham looked like she was going to a funeral, and could of at least tried to smile. Maybe her new line of super-expensive handbags aren't selling very well!
  15. I had the wedding on in the background, yes I know I said I wasn't going to watch! I thought Kate's dress was stunning, and I really tuned in to hear the hymn Jerusalem from Westminster Abbey. I love that hymn.
  16. It looks like a really great guitar to me and very much like Jimmy's! You can post your You Tube videos on here. I'm sure lots of members would like to hear what you sound like. Welcome to the forum.
  17. You can't beat some bubble and squeak, one of the best comfort foods! I had veggie pizza and salad last night. I didn't feel like cooking.
  18. You may want to contact Rick Barratt in the US who is an expert on Zeppelin memorabilia. I contacted him last year about a so-called 'original' Zeppelin poster that was being sold on ebay, and he was more than happy to help identify it as a copy. He can be contacted through his website: http://zeppelincollectables.com/pages.php?pageid=5
  19. There's a lot of fakes being sold on ebay if you have a look. They even come with certificates of authenticity. Anyone with a PC and a printer can manufacture them. I would always ask an expert for a second opinion before parting with cash for any Zeppelin memorabilia.
  20. Hi missy, I hope you're doing well. I've been away from the forum for a couple of months (hectic work life!), but I'm posting again now. I'm looking forward to chatting with you again. :) Magic

  21. I saw that at the cinema on New Year's Eve. It's a great film, and yes, it reminds you what a tyrannical ideology communism was (is).
  22. Well I'm really fed-up with all the hype in Britain right now and not to mention the tacky merchandise, that I'll be glad when it's all over. I don't support the royal family, and can certainly relate to some of Jason Smith's sentiments above. I won't be watching. However, I do wish them every happiness. I'm sure if Wills and Kate had their way they'd be getting married abroad somewhere in private like most normal couples.
  23. ^^It doesn't look as bad as the awful Tim Burton remake, but nothing is going to have the same impact as the original Planet of the Apes.
  24. You coward! Only kidding, it wouldn't even make it into my DVD player. I watched this last night. An interesting time in Britain's political history, and a decent soundtrack too.
