  1. Thanks for the comment on my profile. The painting is by John William Waterhouse, one of my favourite artists. I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad week, I hope next week is better.:)

  2. Yes, the muses of the Pre-Raphaelite artists were truly beautiful women with their long flowng hair. I love your latest additions to the beautiful women thread.:D Will PM you later after work.

  3. What an improvement you've made to the beautiful women thread Kiwi. There are some real gems on there now. I'm sure the other male members here will really appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the pursuit of true beauty!:D

  4. Kiwi your 'beautiful' woman is a real beauty.:D

  5. My mum did some designing for Mary Quant in the late '60s. I wish my mum had kept some of her clothes then I could have inherited them!:) You should have a look at Laura Ashley.com. Their clothes are inspired by vintage fabrics and designs, are extremely well made and they have regular sales with big discounts. I have quite a few of their items in my wardrobe!

  6. Sorry, didn't have room to finish my comment below! I was going to say I amend some of the vintage clothes I buy with my sewing machine, or update them by changing the buttons or adding lace. My mum used to be a fashion designer so I guess I inheritied it from her!:)

  7. Thank you for the links you posted on my profile page. Yes, you get get addicted to buying clothes, but I try to restrict myself to a monthly budget, but then I see something that's so lovely and unique that I just have to have it!:) There are lots of vintage clothes shops here in the UK and even found some lovely items in charity shops. If they don't fit properly I just get my sewi...

  8. Yes, vintage is very in vogue now in terms of fashion which is good news for me because I don't do jeans or trousers! I love the 1940s style tea dresse, or any clothes that have a vintage look to them. Looking through my postcards of the actresses from the '20s and '30s, the clothes they wore were so stylish, and they were natuarlly beautiful unlike a lot of actresses today.

  9. Thanks for the comments on my profile. Yes, we are the same age! I know it's a bit late now, but happy birthday!

I do like the picture on your profile, she's very pretty. I collect postcards of actresses from that era, they were all very glamorous back then and classy!

  10. Thanks for your comment on my profile. I must say that I'm loving your new backgroud paper, it looks like Victorian flocked wallper, very sophisticated. I also love your new picture on your profile. Is that woman from the '20s or '30s? Do you know who she is? I love anything vintage!:)

  11. Just dropping by to say hello Kiwi. I hope you've had a good day:)

  12. That's such a groovy background! : )

  14. Welcome to the forum Emily. I hope you have a good time here and meet lots of new friends.:)

  15. Thank you to everyone who's wished me happy birthday today, it really means a lot to me:) I've had a relaxing day listening to some music (and eating birthday cake!). I'm looking forward to meal out tonight now. I'm going out tomorrow to the shops to spend the money I've had for my birthday (it's not raining tomorrow!).

  16. Thank you Kiwi. It's a miserable day here, it's dark and pouring rain. But I'm listening to some Led Zep to cheer myself up! I've had some great presents, and my partner taking me out for a meal later so I get a night off from cooking!

  17. Thank you. I was hoping to have Jimmy Page's book for my birthday, but we've all got to wait another two weeks at least. Very frustrating!

  18. It's so cold, 'leaves are falling all around', autumn must be on its way!

It's supposed to be Spring here in New Zealand, although it sure doesn't feel like it though! It feels more like a very rainy winter with a lot of wind!
