  1. Thanks for fixing the link gf. Originally sent this from my temperamental iPad ! Agree with you both about Jimmy doing this largely to flag up the neighbour problem. And it is a house that he feels a huge level of commitment to, so I understand his position. I do like the point about Jimmy only playing acoustic guitar in there because of the possible effect of vibrations !
  2. Hello all. Really nice article today in the Guardian about Tower House, Jimmy Page's home in London. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/jul/08/stairway-to-heaven-jimmy-page-castle-is-his-home-led-zeppelin?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  3. Ten years !!!!! As Sandy Denny said "Who knows where the time goes". I was there at the O2 on the night. Simply one of the greatest moments of my life. Such an honour and such gratitude. Thank you. RB
  4. I don't know if this has been posted here previously, but here's a link to the website of Pereds, a very exclusive estate agency in England. There are lots of details of previous property sales on the site, a number of which involve customers that you might have possibly heard of. Look on them and weep. I did !! http://www.pereds.com/
  5. Somewhere in businessville, a man with a cigar is sitting behind a large desk reading this and saying "You know.......it might just work !"
  6. Here's the Daily Mail article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1090439/Has-riddle-Rolling-Stone-Brian-Joness-death-solved-last.html
  7. Legend has it that at some point in 1969 when Zeppelin were being supported on tour in America by Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson's famous long grey overcoat that he wore on stage was 'borrowed' from his dressing room as a prank by one of the Zeppelin folks. Certainly the coat vanished and was never seen again. Some cite this as the starting point of the animosity between Anderson and Robert Plant in later years. Anderson himself says that this event might have happened in Detroit and, hearing him in recent interviews, still sounds a little cross about it. Anyone know anymore ? Anyone want to
  8. Sent chills through me too. It was a real goosebump moment. The first and last time they would ever play it. Just something else to make a historic night historic.
  9. Yep, I was there. Block 412, row B, seat 722. Awesome evening, all over so fast. Still play the boots regularly and still talk about it to anyone who'll listen. The sense that still remains was just how moving it all was. Lots of tears and a real sense of gratitude to this band who've been the soundtrack to my life. I've never been surrounded by so many grown men crying ! And as time passes and it appears that this really was the very last show, the whole event seems with hindsight to have been even more important. It really was a privilege to be there.
  10. What ? You can't get it in the US ? That's terrible. Probably something to do with BBC content only being available to BBC/UK licence payers. I'll have a go with it and try and get some caps up too....
  11. Sorry. Crap computer going mad in the excitement. Anyway, check it out !
  12. The full programme has just been released on the BBC iPlayer. Link below: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00j3...London_Calling/ Enjoy.

  15. I clearly remember getting my email...... Having been ill for a week and not looked at my computer, I opened my emails at 11pm on the Thursday evening to discover my winning passcode notification. (Reaction: "Yes, yes, YES !!!). Only to read it to discover that the deadline to use the code had passed at 5pm that very day. (Reaction: "WHAT !!! OH BLOODY HELL !!!! NO !!!! NOOO !!!!! AAAARRRAAAGGHHH !!!). Anyway, shouting, stamping and so furious I could hardly breathe, I tried to use the code to get into the booking form and IT WORKED !!! Then more terror: "Where the HELL is my wallet ???

    EXETER!

Well I'm going to this bash because I just live down the road. I won't be asking The Question because, as everyone says, it is The Question, so exactly what question should I ask him ? Any thoughts ? Something cool and arcane, possibly related to a JPJ/Zeppelin mystery, or just a great Zeppelin fun/trivia type of question ? Post up your thoughts as to what I could ask, I'll find one that I like and I'll try and ask it. (Marks will be deducted from those that suggest questions on fish, backward messages or demonic pacts.) Seriously, give me a good question and I'll try to get the grea
  17. Hello there, welcome to the forum. You're asking the question that has dominated much of the discussion since the O2 gig; it's a question that has been explored endlessly in various threads and one that gets a lot of people around here very cross indeed. There are rumours, counter-rumours, hints picked up from snippits of interviews that the various band members have given, people claiming to have some inside knowledge about Wembley being booked for summer 2009, etc, but as yet in the absence of any official comment from the band the only real answer is that we have no idea. Frankly, unt
  18. Yep, agree with all the above comments. GTBT was when we all started shouting and cheering but Kashmir was when we started screaming. By the end of Kashmir people around me were simply going crazy.
  19. Actually, a couple of the pictures make really good desktop backgrounds ! Try it.
  20. Another technical article on the O2 show, this time a press release from Midas Consoles who provided the XL8 for front of house and the Heritage 3000 for the monitors. Mainly techie stuff, but there are some nice pics taken from the XL8 driving seat including one of a setlist with what I think are RP's vocal FX settings scribbled on it. http://www.midasconsoles.com/pressreleases...d-Zeppelin.html An amazing bit of kit. Looks like the bridge of the Enterprise. I'll ask for one for Christmas.
  21. Okay. Alison Krauss being interviewed on Monday 8 September on a BBC Radio 4 programme called Woman's Hour. Please don't ask me why I was listening to Woman's Hour, it's a long story and all I'm really prepared to say on the subject is that a man has to have a hobby. Anyway, some brief Plant related bits and pieces towards the end. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/lis...08_37_mon.shtml While you're there, check some of the other great stuff on the WH site. There are clips about nits, wine-tasting, pets and some of the receipes are cracking.
  22. As Reggie29 posted elsewhere, "Chinese Whispers" would be a good name. Personally, my money is on "Fevered Imaginings".
  23. Amen to that brother. I wept and I danced and I shouted as did everyone around me. It was a hugely emotional night and none of that really comes over on the boots. Listless ? Not in our corner.
