  1. There were two kits in the studio. (see photo from book of ITTOD Super Deluxe) One green kit and one silver sparkle. One of the kits doesn't have the skin on the front of the bass drum while the other does not. It was the first time (per Page) that they recorded his drums without the skin on the bass drum. Per my ears, some of the tracks are recorded with out the skin on the bass drum while some other tracks had the skin on the drum.

  2. I also went back and listened to Babe I'm Gonna Leave you and compared the Walmart version to the reissue album and cd versions. The final chorus section has the electric guitar buried in the mix. (for the final chorus only)

  3. I picked up the three album set (LZ1, Fourth Album, Presence) from Walmart which include the backstage replica pass. I believe they should be the same pressings as the remastered sets released recently. I played the first album and the fourth album. I heard no differences in the first album. It does sound clearer especially the guitars an Dazed and Confused but I believe that is probably because I replayed the remastered album quite a bit and probably had a effect on the sound quality after quite a few plays.

What surprised me was the fourth album. Specifically the track Rock and Roll. I noticed quite a bit of delay. (especially at the end of the track) I went back and listen to the album from my Super Deluxe package and it didn't have this noticeable delay at the end. I'm wondering if this relates to a pressing issue.

I also noticed one section of some background vocal on the Battle of Evermore (that was much clearer) but have not had a chance to compare it to the Super Deluxe version yet.

I own these photographs (there's a dozen pics). Some documentation I received with them is unclear whether they're from October '68 or December '68.

Plant and Page seem to be wearing the same clothes as the blurry well-known Marquee photo. In the Led Zeppelin photo book (with backstage pics) it documents the photo as Oct 18, 1968.

I know the band quickly had him dispose of the double bass drum after using one for a few live shows. Did he use them though on the first two albums before he did this? Very curious (esp. on GTBT)

Bonzo Never used double bass drums on ANY Led Zeppelin studio recordings.

Good Times Bad Times was done on one foot.

  6. I received this as well:

    Dear Led Zeppelin Fans,

You are receiving this email because you have placed a pre-order from the Led Zeppelin marketplace.

Please see a statement below from the seller:

""Unfortunately the band and their record company issued the following statement regarding the Immigrant Song 7” vinyl that you pre-ordered.

"With great regret, Warner Music must inform Led Zeppelin fans that the “Immigrant Song / Hey, Hey, What Can I Do” 7” single has been cancelled. We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may have caused. Refunds will be available at point of purchase."

This is something totally beyond our control and we can only offer our apologies but we will be automatically issuing full refunds for your orders of the 7” and accompanying t-shirts.""

We can confirm that a refund will be issued to you in the next 7 working days and there's no need for you to take any additional action.

    Kind regards,
    Music Glue Support

  7. Compare the final version against the companion version and Jimmy definitely added a bit of effects (purposely) to the track.

To me, the tracks that have issues with tape hiss are The Ocean and Dancing Days. If you have the companion version of Dancing Days on vinyl, give it a listen. The differences are dramatic.

Also, listen to the companion version of For Your Life and you will be able to hear all the bass triplets Bonzo is playing that can't hear on the final version.
