  1. Business as usual Led Zeppelin 2007-2008 World Tour Dec 10, 2007 - London, England - Confirmed Jun 14, 2008 - Manchester, Tennessee - Unconfirmed
  2. DECEMBER 27 - CENTER ARENA, SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (FRIDAY) Opened (and unbilled) for Vanilla Fudge. DECEMBER 28 - PACIFIC COLISEUM, VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (SATURDAY, START AT 7pm) Opened (and unbilled) for Vanilla Fudge. DECEMBER 29 - PORTLAND, OREGON (SUNDAY, START AT 7:30pm) Opened (and unbilled) for Vanilla Fudge. Vanilla Fudge ticket stub exists for the Portland Civic Auditorium on 12/29/68. This is more than likely the correct date for the Portland show listed as 12/31/68 but a big caution must be taken to these speculations. www.argenteumastrum.com/1968
  3. Having already seen John Paul Jones recently, yes!!!! Jimmy Page is still Jimmy Page and there is only one.
  4. Except, how do you explain The Band Log: 1968 29 December: New Capital Theatre, NY Vanilla Fudge headline. "Charles Lloyd Quartet" opening act.? www.vanillafudge.com/journal/bandlog68 and explain Led Zeppelin 1st U.S. TOUR 28/12/1968 Boston Tea Party, Boston, Massachusetts 29/12/1968 New York, New York 31/12/1968 Portland, Oregon ledzeppelin.alexreisner.com/tourdates Did they not get to Portland because of the blizzard on the 31st? Speaking of blizzards in Seattle, they've got some wintry weather happening in the Northwest right now; Interstate 5 is closed from flooding, the alternate route is 400 miles, and schools are closed.
  5. Yes, he does! It's probably because he learned to talk while he was around Daddy. Hanging out with Dad at concerts probably had some influence as well. Listen to him and you know from whom his language skills originated. Mom probably deserves some credit, too.
  6. Yes, there is a way. First you must click on the individual forum, for instance "O2 Arena Concert, London, 12-10-07". Next, on the bottom right of the page in the drop-down menu that reads "Topics", click on the option that says "I Replied". Then click the box underneath that says "Remember these options". Click "Go".
  7. Kornerstoned: The Alexis Korner Anthology – 1954-1983 DISC ONE features 24. Alexis Korner & Robert Plant • Steal Away This compilation also contains a few interesting titles. www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2006/04/02/alexis_godfather_of_british_blues_korner/
  8. As long as no one is misusing Robert Plant, then it's alright. Nothin' is a song written by Townes Van Zandt, not Robert Plant. I have the sense that Robert is exploring some unfamiliar territory with the Raising Sand album. Not that he lacks experience, but he may be looking at the world through the eyes of others simply to get their point of view and see what it is. He probably feels their pain, but it may not be his own. I listened to that song the other day, right before I changed my CD player back to Today I Started Loving You Again. I guess when it comes to country, I've got a one-track mind.
  9. Does this mean the date in Tennessee is confirmed?
  10. The ballets contained the roles. It's interesting how the concept of muse has spilled into popular culture.
  11. Vanilla Fudge, Civic Auditorium, Portland, Oregon, December 29, 1968
  12. They were releasing tension. Led Zeppelin concerts were very high-powered in those days, and it was necessary I guess.
  13. Only God creates; you simply find what is already there. Ballets have included roles for Muses that have been performed by dancers to music.
  14. That would have been either Denver, Seattle, Boston or Spokane for those dates for Led Zeppelin. Vanilla Fudge does not list a date for December 30 as being one of its concert dates. Ah, bingo! But there is a discrepancy for Boston. Did Led Zeppelin actually perform in Boston? They could not have been in Vancouver, Canada at the same time if they were appearing with Vanilla Fudge on December 28, 1968. Led Zeppelin would have needed to cancel their Boston appearance to be in Vancouver, Canada on the same date.
  15. It sounds as if someone is trying to promote an interest in selling tickets and increasing the demand for tickets by spreading rumors to drive up the price? Am I right?
  16. Led Zeppelin 2007-2008 World Tour Dec 10, 2007 - London, England - Confirmed Jun 14, 2008 - Manchester, Tennessee - Unconfirmed
  17. That would make more sense; both bands appeared in New York that night. If Led Zeppelin opened for Vanilla Fudge on December 29, 1968, the venue would have been the New Capital Theatre.
  18. Accepted but not entirely corroborated. Apparently, Led Zeppelin was in Portland on December 31, 1968, but Vanilla Fudge was in San Francisco that night at the Fillmore West. Also, it seems Led Zeppelin performed on December 29, 1968 in New York City so that does not substantiate an appearance in Salem, Oregon on that date. Perhaps the facts need review and maybe there's a reason for the discrepancy in reports. It's conceivable that Led Zeppelin could have flown from San Francisco to Portland if they had played in San Francisco very early in the day, because it is a short flight. A flight from New York City to Salem, Oregon on the same day may not have occurred in time for all the changes in airports, hotels and venues, so I doubt that.
  19. Mr. B and Miss Farrell had a love affair in addition to their shared artistic endeavors. Repression may have been a factor in the personal relationship, as he was still married to Tanaquil Le Clercq when the romance with Suzanne Farrell proceeded. Erato was the Muse of Love Poetry from Greek mythology, if you are wondering about the precedent for emotional and erotic heat. Also, Mr. B cast dancers literally as Muses in his choreography, of which the following is just one example, as there were also others. However, Suzanne Farrell comes across as something other than passive. I seriously doubt that passive women get through the auditions at New York City Ballet. It simply takes more than that. Suzanne Farrell performed as a principal dancer in the company for years. No one in the New York City Ballet remains passive for very long. It just doesn't work that way; they have to move all the time, and the choreography often requires split-second timing with multiple changes of direction, which is probably why Baryshnikov injured his knee.
