I never thought Tangents in a Framework was a hatchet job, it was one of a only a few books on Zep out there in early 80s it’s just an overview book on his career nothing salacious or anything. Why did it piss off the band ?

5/26 has long been a 77 fave for me, I think the band has a relaxed approach for entire show, I love this one

The legend is that at beginning of Rock n Roll Page tripped and fell onstage that’s why guitar cuts out

Jimmy was also a big fan of the Tremolo effect. Like after "really need 'em bad" he hits that big chord with tons of Tremolo.

Album was a disappointment, but hot dang the concert was just amazing -
Zeps music doesn’t work unless you give it total commitment. It ain’t easy, takes a lot to perform their music. as dissapointed as I was personally, if what we would’ve seen is half ass Robert looking distracted on stage, well we’re probably better off

I met someone recently who saw Zep Atlanta 73 show, I specifically asked if there was a video screen they said they didn’t recall seeing one used. -

If 77 tour shows were professionally recorded, it would’ve been done at a multi night stand venue such as LA, NY, or Landover ive never seen or heard any rumor of 77 pro recordings, as great as that would be -

1977 SHOWS RANKED INTO 3 CATEGORIES
bluecongo replied to confounded_bridge's topic in Led Zeppelin Live
Im a big LA77 fan. Big 77 fan in general ! I wish MSG 77 was better represented sonically. I’ve never been able to get deep into those shows for that reason. my random 77 thoughts 6/7 I’m not a fan of because Jimmy is just too rough. Energetic, but rough. 5/22 I think one of best energetic shows of tour. 5/30 Bonzo sounds asleep 5/26 one of my personal faves very relaxed dynamic show with some nice fluid playing from Jimmy 6/23 my fave Zep show ever Jimmys best night of tour imho 5/21 I think is decent esp end of show 4/27 Jimmy is weak 7/17 ok in some parts when Jimmy wakes up later on and Roberts voice warms up. Strong Bonzo show 6/21 legendary show super energy but again, IMHO Jimmy a little too coked up and frantic in parts, still epic possible best Bonzo performance ever 6/25 solid show Jimmy very inspired in parts Robert very strong but Bonzo has downshifted 7/20 😂😂😂😂 -

Alcoholism made him a Jekyll/Hyde kinda person, very tragic. Alcohol is a depressant, I’m sure that didn’t help his confidence either.
