  1. Sorry folks, I was in such a rush to get to the concert I left my sheets at work so I won't be able to post the updated season standings until later. But here is the Week 6 schedule of games for those that can't wait to make their picks...like paul. Week 6 Schedule Thursday Indianapolis @ Houston Sunday Chicago @ Atlanta Jacksonville @ Tennessee Baltimore @ Tampa Bay Denver @ New York Jets Detroit @ Minnesota New England @ Buffalo Carolina @ Cincinnati Pittsburgh @ Cleveland Green Bay @ Miami San Diego @ Oakland Dallas @ Seattle Washington @ Arizona New York Giants @ Philadelphia Monday San Francisco @ St. Louis
  2. If you get to the Palladium box office early enough today before the show, they usually release a few tickets at face value before the show. Hell, this show didn't sell out until last week...it was nearly a month after tickets went on sale before I bought mine. $53 is the face value price. Good luck.
  3. I just came back from a long vacation as well as taking time off twice earlier this year. Plus we're now shorthanded at one of my jobs thanks to a guy going cuckoo...so no can do, unfortunately. Look forward to hearing your reports as to what I can expect Nov. 12.
  4. Who is your goalie now that Miller is gone? Where did Miller go again? I know it wasn't to the Ducks as you feared.
  5. USC's season is pretty much ruined. It was already dire after the Boston College loss, but losing to ASU on a Hail-Mary heave at the last second is the crusher. Two losses will not get the Trojans in the top bowls. It's lower-tier bowl if they're lucky.
  6. Wait a minute...I thought last season was for tanking? You mean to tell me you expect the Sabres to tank two years in a row? I thought you were crowing last year about all the draft picks Buffalo had accumulated...just how many cotton-picking draft picks do your bums need to rebuild? Maybe they can tank next year too and get even more top draft picks. There's only so much intentional tanking a fan can take. Just tell me when you expect the Buffalo Sabres to actually try to win.
  7. Well, it would have been sweeter to be able to go to the NYC event so I could meet all of you...but at my age, I'll take what I can get. Thank you, Jimmy Page, for coming to my backyard!
  8. I have a feeling that the National League playoffs will be long, dragged out fights, while Baltimore will make short work of Kansas City.
  9. Sorry Deb...suffered a hangover from my brothers' birthday party the other night and forgot to log on to wish you a happy birthday yesterday. Belated birthday wishes to you, kind soul. Hope it was a good one! Happy birthday wishes today to badgeholder, pottedplant and ledzepfvr! Many happy returns of the day to you all! Rock on!
  10. I am now throwing the full weight of my support behind ebk's and LZF77's team...the Baltimore Orioles. Olé! Olé! Olé!
  11. Is there any further proof needed to declare SAD-lanta complete and utter FRAUDS when it comes to playoff contenders?
  12. Since EVERYONE has Seattle in tonight's game, the winners of the week are locked in stone...Anjin-san and mack! Congratulations guys! They are tied at 12-2. Depending on tonight's game, they will either finish 13-2 or 12-3. I'll post all the numbers tonight after the John Paul Jones concert.
  13. I feel your pain...my condolences. Bring back Morningwheg!!! Hahaha.
  14. Ho hum. Halos blow it again...just another playoff pratfall by the Angels. Don't cry for me Argentina. I fully expected this. For one year, in 2002, all the planets were in alignment and everything came together for the Angels to win their lone World Series championship. All of the other years, however, have been one failure after another. Some years were just bad for lack of talent. But others have seen some mighty bad collapses...especially during these post-2002 Scioscia years. For the last month of the season the Angels started humming and ran away with the Division and MLB's best record. Total number of games Josh Hamilton played during the Angels rampage? One...yep, exactly one game was blessed with Hamilton's presence. So why did Scioscia mess with chemistry and put Hamilton in the starting lineup as soon as the playoffs began? The Angels would have been better off with BRAD Hamilton in their lineup. This series with the Royals was like "Groundhog Day"...it's the same old story with the Angels. Our offense disappears in the playoffs and our pitching cracks under the strain of trying to win 2-1 games. There is nobody on the Angels who has significant playoff experience except for Pujols. And Pujols never really had great World Series with the Cardinals. It was always somebody else on the Cardinals that had the key hit, the game-winning home run. That's why St. Louis didn't bat an eye at letting Pujols leave...they knew he was becoming dead weight. Now the Angels are stuck with six more expensive years of Dead Weight Pujols. Mike Trout had a dismal playoff...he's still young so the jury is still out on him. He could blossom into a clutch player with time. Or he could be another Vlad Guerrero...great in regular season, bust in playoffs. Mike Scioscia should have been fired by the time I woke up to read the morning paper. But knowing Teflon Mike, Arte Moreno will probably give him a raise. "Heckuva job, Brownie!" Oh well, at least there's football season. Oh wait...the Raiders suck. Ok, college football...no, USC sucks too. Ahhh, the Lakers season is just arou...err, never mind, they are useless too. Thank goodness for HOCKEY SEASON!!!
  15. So New England is in disarray and there is dissension in the locker room? Well, after last night's wiping of the Bungholes, if that is turmoil then I wish the Raiders had some of that turmoil. As for Detroit...thanks a lot Bong-Man! Your frikkin' team knocked me out of the Suicide Pool I play in...I had Detroit beating Buffalo this week. I had thought about going with Dallas over Houston but that game scared me a bit. The Lions at home seemed a safer bet. I can hear Rick's cackling clear over here...Lions AND Tigers lose to Rick's teams on the same day! What are the odds?!?
  16. Like one of those old riverboats you'd see paddling down the Mississippi in Mark Twain's days? The kind with casino gambling? Hope you had a good trip up and down the river. Nothing but work today. 10am-5pm at one job and then 6pm-12:30am at the other. Holiday is definitely o-v-e-r.
  17. Before leaving Seattle, got to check out Seattle Seahawks stadium...or as it is officially named, CenturyLink Field. Unfortunately it was set up for a Seattle Sounders soccer game, so the field didn't have the Seahawks logo. But I got to see the Ring of Honor and Super Bowl banner and Hawks Nest. It was a drizzly grey day, and the Monday Night game was about to start so went across the street to watch game at Pyramid Ale House. The Hawks Nest Bar was closed...apparently it is only open during game days.
  18. Jennifer Lawrence. Unfortunately.
  19. Too busy watching Os and Angels baseball playoff games to even care about last night's game.
  20. I think it's usually the team the player made his mark with but in the end, the player gets to choose.
  21. Hooray for DAY baseball!!! Don't worry Rick and Os fans. Since Verlander became more interested in taking porno pics with Kate Upton than in his pitching, his aim with the fastball is not as good as his aim with his jizz. He paints Kate's back better than he's painted the plate lately. Cruz and the Os should be able to touch Justin V for a few runs today.
  22. Last night is exactly why I wanted Oakland to beat KC in the Wild Card game...I thought the Angels would have an easier time with the A's in the ALDS than against the Royals. KC could easily beat the Angels. And don't forget...aside from Pujols and Freese, the Angels don't exactly have a lot of playoff experience either. ebk, I am so happy you are at the games...so often the regular fan gets screwed out of playoff tickets. More so in the NFL than MLB I suppose.
  23. It's all good fellas. Don't sweat the rest of your picks until this weekend. I know firsthand how time slips away.
