  1. Having breakfast with the NFL...yes, it is only 10:15am here. Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream and Eggs Florentine. Water, Bloody Mary, coffee.
  2. Tell me about it. But look at it in a more positive light...hockey and basketball season just got closer.
  3. Thanks Paul. I hope you're right. Actually, I was kind of shocked to find out how well Oakland has done recently at Kansas City. I have alwys considered Arrowhead the Raiders personal chamber of horrors but they're something like 8-1 ATS at Arrowhead lately. If the spread had remained at 10, 10.5 points I would have bet Oakland, but it's down to 7 now...which means a ton of money came in on Oakland.
  4. What did I tell you about the Dodgers never giving Kershaw any run support? Now LA has wasted two great efforts by its starting pitchers in the first two games, leaving them having to win 4 of the remaining 5 games, three of which will be in St. Louis, and two facing Adam Wainwright. Even if the Dodgers win these next two at home, the odds are against it. What are the odds we get two 1-0 playoff games on the same day? You don't usually see that, especially with an AL game. Cards-Tigers WS getting closer to reality.
  5. ^^^ I thought that might relieve the stress for you this week.

Thanks jabe...I'll do the parlay then, if I'm not too late. Okay, into the breach I go... 1300 Denver -27 vs. Jacksonville; Seattle -12 vs. Tennessee; Philadelphia @ Tampa Bay 45 1/2 O/U 300 Denver -27, Seattle -12, Unders on the Philly/TB game All lines from Caesars Las Vegas as of this morning.
  7. I don't. The last three and a half were abysmal...the next will only get worse.
  8. This is what happens when you spend too much time on a computer.
  9. Donnie Baseball shouldn't have pulled Gonzalez for a pinch runner in the 8th...they could have used his bat in several situations in the late innings last night. Instead, with Gonzalez out, the Cardinals were able to intentionally walk Hanley Ramirez to get to Gonzalez's replacement, weak-hitting Michael Young. To make matters worse, instead of playing tonight, the Dodgers-St. Louis game is the early one at 1pm today, while Boston plays at night. Short rest...it could be a sloppy game today as players will be weary.
  10. It's a great theatre...if you're ever down in L.A., I'll treat you to a movie there. Earlier tonight, Director Richard Donner attended the screening of "The Omen" at the American Cinematheque's Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Richard then did a Q & A. Besides "The Omen", he is well known for the Christopher Reeve "Superman" and the "Lethal Weapon" movies. He also directed tons of television shows and to a sizable part of the population may be most beloved for being the director of the original Twilight Zone episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", starring William Shatner. Coincidentally, tonight was the 50th anniversary of the first air date of that landmark episode...October 11, 1963. Here is Richard Donner with a friend tonight. Earlier this week, I also went to see "Gravity" a second time...this time in 3D IMAX at the newly refurbished and reopened Chinese Theatre. Blew me away even more the second time...pottedplant, get ready for a heartstopping rollercoaster ride tonight. They had the space suit costumes worn by Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in the lobby of the theatre.
  11. Well played St. Louis. Whew. If that's the type of game we have to look forward to, it's going to be a hellacious series. My fingers are bitten to the nub. I have only just concluded watching the end of the game on Tivo because I had an event to go to at 7:30pm tonight. So I was able to watch the first 5 innings live and then watched the rest of the game afterwards beginning around 10:30pm.
  12. I love sharks. Growing up in Orange County, it goes without saying I love the ocean and all the creatures that reside in it. That's all I have to say.
  13. ^^^ They'll be back...don't worry. But I wonder if Lincecum will ever be the same. I hate the Giants but I like him.
  14. Do you mean the pop up type of ads? You should be able to activate your pop-up blocker to prevent those ads from coming up.
  15. I'm happy that a friend of mine is rocking out this weekend at the Austin City Limits Festival!!!
  16. I love pumpkin anything...pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bisque, pumpkin ale, pumpkin and couscous, pumpkin curry, pumpkin ice cream...I'll stop now, haha.
  17. I do my best to stay on the straight and narrow.
  18. Actually if you read my post earlier today, you'll see that I picked the Cardinals in 6. I think they are better where it counts in the playoffs...and certainly more battle-tested. It should be a helluva series, though. May the best team win. Good luck to you and any wagers you may have placed. Hey Rick, did I hear you right? You put money on the Dodgers?
  19. Frostbite has rendered my toenails less than appealing. Only a select few get to see them up close. That's a very short list.
  20. I guess Wes got tired of slave to zep...or she gave him the heave-ho.
  21. Go Dodgers! Now, as long as J.D. Drew and Jeff Kent avoid being tagged out at home on the same play, the Dodgers might do all right.
  22. The news just got worse for Adrian Peterson. His son died. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=9809579
  23. ^^^ Yes, the Spanish do wonderful things with grapes. When you get a chance, the next time you scramble some eggs, throw in a little sherry along with some cream cheese and green onions. It tastes yummy and creamy.
