  1. ^^^ Seattle might wake up in the second half. Detroit should be way ahead by now but Stafford is awful and the Lions are settling for field goals when they should be scoring touchdowns. Come on Lions.
  2. When you say "Best of L.A. '75" Bonzo_fan, are you including the Long Beach gigs? Because the March 12 Long Beach Arena show was easily one of the best of the tour. The "Heartbreaker" from this night trumps the one from March 24, and the earlier ones from the tour.
  3. Now wait a minute...when have I ever taken you to task on grammar? Or taken anyone to task, for that matter? I make grammatical errors myself...constantly. I used to get annoyed at spelling mistakes and glaring errors and the you/you're, to/too, were/we're, etc. misuses. But I realize that horse has left the barn long ago. The only thing I concern myself with is factual errors.

^^^ Putting your trust in Arizona is foolish. Especially on the road across three time zones. Surprised you couldn't find a nore amenable game...like the one jabe took... That's a pretty good line...only laying two points. I'm pretty sure the spread was higher at the beginning of the week, which is why I stayed away.
  5. I'm watching Detroit vs. Chicago myself, with check-ins on Seattle @ Houston. Is anyone watching the bore-a-thon the NFL shipped over to London? I doubt the game is close to being a full house in attendance. Do the English who go to this game get teased by their friends? Did the English press pay any attention to this game? Hey Wes! Curious Americans want to know...how much ink did the NFL get in the UK papers?
  6. ^^^ You're still going to Baltimore games even after being eliminated? That's dedication. In other words, it's up to the Angels to beat Texas and save all this nonsense. I'm almost with Bong-man...let's go back to the days of Pennant Winners.

Come on jabe...time is getting short. Unless you're betting on the Monday night game.
  8. You're good Rick. It is 2:22 am PST and I'll confirm your pick is changed in time. For the record, let it be known that LedZeppfan77 has picked Tampa Bay over Arizona. Any special reason why you decided to go with Tampa...was it Tampa benching Josh Freeman?
  9. ^^^ Probably for good reason.
  10. One look at my tie and my girl said "bye-bye!"

    Rock Music

I only said "half" the questions were irrelevant. It comes down to whether you're using the term 'rock' in a strictly musical sense or socio-cultural manner? Rap is the new rock, if you're talking about culturally...as it is rap that gets the parents, the church, and the powers-that-be upset these days, much as rock and roll did in the 1950s and 1960s. I'll answer in more detail later this weekend.

    Sir Jimmy Page?

+ 1,000,000,000 Thank you truth and beauty. Nice to see someone taking a rational approach. Official plaudits and recognition are nice, I suppose, but it doesn't mean much in the long run. Whether Jimmy gets knighted or not has no bearing on Led Zeppelin's place in the rock and roll firmament or Jimmy's perch on Guitar God Mountain. Led Zeppelin are Mighty Rock Gods. End of story. If you need need someone to be knighted or given a Grammy award to convince you to listen to a band, then you're not much of a rock fan to begin with. I like my rock stars as far away from politicians and Queens as possible...leave that stuff for Sting and Bono and Sir Bob Geldof.
  13. Been doing some excavating lately...haven't found my box of Led Zeppelin tapes yet. But here are some of my factory as well as hand-decorated home-grown tapes.

    Rock Music

Who calls them Rock Stars? If anyone does, it is most likely lazy journalists too dim to differentiate between pop and rock. This is all part of the conflation of terms 'rock and roll', 'rock', 'popular music', and 'pop' into a ball of confusion.
  15. I don't know what it is about this year but so far eight people I know have had one of their pets killed or have had to put them to sleep.
  16. Thanks Tangie...I've been checking E-bay and have people looking out at Amoeba and other places.
  17. The late James Gandolfini's last film, "Enough Said"...it looks like it may be good.
  18. Congratulations on the Baseball Thread reaching 100 pages!!! Exit Sandman. Muchos Respect.
  19. You must really love Cleveland, jabe? I'm wondering if I should rethink my Tampa Bay pick, now that Freeman has been benched in favour of some rookie.
  20. The computer was the least of my worries...most of my albums, stereo, and whatnot were stolen, too. Basically, I came home from my New England trip to a ransacked apartment...I had stupidly left a window ajar when I left. Live and learn.
  21. What does that mean? "The Song Remains the Same", "Rock and Roll", and "Black Dog" aren't exactly heavy lyrical concepts. Found one of the better Led Zeppelin performances of "The Wanton Song"...from January 22, 1975 in Chicago: This is kind of neat...brief rehearsal footage before their appearance on that wacky French TV show June 19, 1969:
  22. I don't know what BestBandStill is referring to, but I'm referring to the theft of Jimmy Page's Black Beauty guitar in Vancouver March 1970. It's never been found, even after Jimmy placed an ad seeking to find it.
