  1. I realize I am in the minority on this, but I have always firmly believed that it was neither. I believe that Mike Millard simply had a guy named Eddie that he traded with, or made copies of his shows for, and simply wrote that on the cassette of the 6/21 show he sent, as a way of expressing how amazing the show was. Both of those Eddie Van Halen and Eddie Kramer quotes about Jimmy didn't become public knowledge until long after the bootleg came out, so therefore, it doesn't follow that Mike Millard would reference something that hadn't even happened yet. Eddie is just a guy named Eddie, that's all. But the Eddie Van Halen or Eddie Kramer angle makes for a juicy anecdote, so people like to cling to that instead.
  2. Key game in the BCS title chase today...Alabama @ Texas A & M is about to start. Maybe 'Bama can knock some sense into Johnny Football? College Station, Texas will be rocking!

Bump. It's as easy as playing the Song name game, people.
  4. Is yours a matrix? Mine is the EVSD release Chasing the Dragon.
  5. Calm down, folks. I never said you couldn't discuss or render judgment on the shows. I only said I would sit this one out and abstain from trying to pick one over the other. I listen to boots and try to rank my favourite performances myself...it is a fun topic to discuss and argue. But trying to choose between 6/21 and 6/23 is too tough...that's all I was conveying.
  6. ^^^ I had a feeling which is why I didn't allow myself to get excited. A tape like that wouldn't be offered on e-bay or public channels, in my opinion. It would be strictly hush-hush thru covert secret operations. Like a Freezer caper. But, yeah...if either the afternoon or evening show of 9/19/70 came out in Soundboard, I would declare a Worldwide Zeppelin Holiday!!! Especially the evening show.
  7. My issue isn't with what a 1977 Forum Soundboard would or wouldn't reveal, performance-wise. It's not going to change my opinion of the shows, and I have learned long ago that Jimmy's guitar never sounds as good on a Soundboard as it did in the hall. My question is the quality of the Soundboard tape itself. If the '77 Forum sounds like the 1975 Soundboards, great...I'll gladly listen to those. But if they sound more like the drab and brittle '77 Houston or New York Soundboards...or some of those 1973 ones, then I'll stick to my Mike Millards.
  8. Everyone starts this week 1-0...except for crazy jabe.
  9. ^^^ Happy Cotton-pickin' Anniversary to you and yours, Jules!
  10. I totally forgot about that whole Michael Hutchence weirdness...what a shite Bob was. In retrospect, he was the perfect git to play 'Pink' in that 'orrible "Pink Floyd The Wall" movie. I mean, if you couldn't have the original misanthropic cunt himself, Roger Waters, play 'Pink', Bob Geldof was a good substitute.
  11. No it does not. Not even close. Look, the Rolling Stones are still an on-going concern who made dozens of TV and Radio appearances, as well as welcomed cameras into their midst to film reel after reel of footage. Led Zeppelin, for all intents and purposes, hasn't been a working band since the death of John Bonham, save for a few one-offs here and there. Their last studio album was released in 1979. They were more circumspect with regards to promotional appearances and filming and recording their activities, both in the studio and on stage. Not to mention the stuff that's been stolen over the years. In short, Led Zeppelin's archive is puny compared to the likes of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. You can't release what you don't have.
  12. Jiminy Cricket...that was the longest minute of my life. Just end the game already. As I was saying, the Jets could have stolen this game...if they weren't the Jets, haha. Poor play by both teams and a very ugly game in the rain.
  13. New England's offense looks ragged. The Jets could steal this game. These announcers on the NFL Network are the very definition of drab. Boring as hell.
  14. Here comes the rain again...
  15. Taking advantage of 'Happy Hour' at the pub while watching the games. Prime rib sliders, basket of beer-battered onion rings and two pints of Sam Adams Oktoberfest beer.
  16. 13-3 at halftime. There is an annoying Jets fan at the pub I'm watching the game. Tedy Bruschi is being honoured by the Patriots at halftime. http://www.boston.com/community/forums/sports/patriots/on-the-front-burner/jets-patriots-game-thread/100/6214442
  17. Hahaha...whether it's Sanchez or Tebow or Geno behind center, it's still the same old Jets.
  18. Uh oh...could be a blow out before I get to the pub to watch.
  19. What happened Paul?
  20. I'm stuck in traffic. Has the Jets @ Patriots game kicked off yet? Thinking Jets may have chance at upset.
  21. 10 Predictions for the 2013-14 NHL season Kevin Allen, USA TODAY Sports (Photo: Michael Ivins, USA TODAY Sports) STORY HIGHLIGHTS Seth Jones will have a solid rookie season pairing with Shea Weber Tim Thomas should land a job sometime during the season Don't expect a lot of coaching changes this season USA TODAY Sports hockey columnist Kevin Allen makes 10 predictions for the 2013-14 NHL season: 1. Jones pairs with Weber: Seth Jones will have a rookie season similar in impact to last season's Minnesota Wild rookie Jonas Brodin. Like Brodin, Jones will be better defensively than you would expect for a teen-age defenseman. Like Brodin, Jones could end up paired with his team's No. 1 defenseman. Brodin was paired with Ryan Suter and Jones could end up with Shea Weber. Although Weber and Roman Josi were very strong together down the stretch, the Predators are lacking in experience on the blue line. The Predators' defense would be more balanced if Weber and Josi were apart. 2. Thomas will find work: Although there appears to be no love for Tim Thomas in the marketplace right now, it's not difficult to imagine a team turning to him in-season if its No. 1 goalie had a significant injury. Although Thomas sat out last season, he looked brilliant the last time we saw him play. 3. Crosby puts up 125: Not since 2009-10 has Sidney Crosby been healthy enough to play close to a full season. He seems overdue for good luck on the medical front. At 26, he's entering the prime of his career. When you look at his numbers last season, he was scoring at about a 127-point pace. 4. Coaching a safer profession? The Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers all sporting new hires behind the bench or coaches hired during the 2012-13 season. Several other coaches received extensions this summer. At least for now, there doesn't seem to be as many coaches on the hot seat as we have had in the past. Still, would you want to be Peter Laviolette if the Philadelphia Flyers had a bad start or how about Mike Yeo in Minnesota if the Wild stumbled out of the gate? 5. Luongo vs. Quick: Fans in Vancouver have the right to argue about whether GM Mike Gillis should have kept Roberto Luongo or Cory Schneider, but the truth is that Luongo might still be Canada's best option for Sochi. Let's not forget that this man has an Olympic gold medal and two World Championships titles on his resume. He's a proven winner in international competition. Plus, Canada is not rich in exceptional candidates. Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick's performance over the past two seasons clearly have moved him ahead of the Sabres' Ryan Miller on the unofficial depth chart. But no one has forgotten how well Miller played in Vancouver in 2010. U.S. GM David Poile has said the goalie choice will be made based on who is playing the best when the team is chosen. 6. No home-ice advantage: Oddsmakers and sportswriters seem to be looking at the Russians as the team to beat at the 2014 Olympics in their home country. With the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk up front, it's easy to understand that projection. It's an impressive group. The problem is that every country has an impressive collection of talent. The pressure to win could be overwhelming for the Russians. My early projection: 1. Canada. 2. Sweden. 3. USA. 7. Red Wings will soar in East: With the improvements the Detroit Red Wings made to their offense and the return of Darren Helm, they can finish second in the new Atlantic Division, just behind the Boston Bruins. The misconception about the Red Wings is that they have defensive issues, but they were actually a strong defensive team by season's end. Their issue centered on a lack of scoring depth. Daniel Alfredsson and Stephen Weiss will help eliminate that deficiency. 8. Jets still grounded: The move to the West won't immediately help the Winnipeg Jets. They might need 96 or 97 points to land a playoff spot in their new division alignment. They seem more like an 88-point team, maybe a 90- or 92-point team if they continue to progress. 9. Toronto will be better than Montreal: The Canadiens were six points better than the Maple Leafs in the 48-game 2012-13 NHL season. But with the additions of tough, goal scorer David Clarkson and goalie Jonathan Bernier, the Maple Leafs could be a 100- or 101-point team. The Canadiens could be a point or two behind, although they could also be a 104- or 105-point team if Carey Price has an exceptional season. 10. Devils will miss the playoffs again: If it happens, this would be the first time under GM Lou Lamoriello that the Devils have missed the playoffs for two consecutive seasons. Over the last 13 months, the Devils have lost Zach Parise, Clarkson and Kovalchuk. They were the lowest-scoring team in the Eastern Conference last season, and losing Kovalchuk makes that situation worse.
  22. I've got that "Wicker Man" soundtrack album by Magnet and Paul Giovanni...it is fantastically moody and perfect for the film. The Cage remake is laughably bad and the music not worth remembering.

Bump. Come on, people! It's free money you get to play with...pony up and test your wits against the Las Vegas Books.
  24. And he's a Yankee fan! You'd think he'd choose blue, haha.
  25. I assume you mean the original "Wicker Man" from 1973 with Christopher Lee? I haven't had time to check out the article, but I hope a distinction is made between films with original scores and films that are just collections of already recorded songs(e.g. "Goodfellas", "Pulp Fiction", "Dazed and Confused").
