  1. Frankly, I don't understand why they haven't picked him up already. What do they have to lose? As has been noted ad nauseum, he'll put butts in the seats at Jacksonville Stadium for a change. They'll finally be able to remove the tarp that covers most of the stadium. If the Raiders lose to these Jagoffs, I'll have to borrow Rick's for my own head.
  2. Found it... 7 Up Biscuits 4 cups Bisquick 1 cup sour cream 1 cup 7-up* 1/2 cup melted butter *If you don't have, or prefer not to use 7-Up, you can make your own home-made version mixing 1 cup Club Soda, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon lime juice. Pre-heat oven to 425° Mix Bisquick, sour cream and 7-Up in a large mixing bowl. Dough will be very soft - don't worry. Turn out dough onto a flat surface covered with about 1/3 cup more Bisquick and knead and fold dough lightly until the Bisquick is worked in. Pat dough out (don't roll) to about 1/2 inches thick and cut biscuits using a round biscuit/cookie cutter. Pour melted butter in bottom of 9x13 casserole dish/cake pan. Place biscuits on top of melted butter close together, sides touching and bake for 12-15 minutes or until brown at 425 degrees. Watch carefully so the tops don't get too brown. Use a fork to separate the biscuits. Devour with a little butter, honey, jam of your choice...or Nutella.
  3. One of the more famous examples of that is when Darby Crash of the Germs killed himself on Dec. 7, 1980 and nobody heard or cared about it because John Lennon was shot and killed on Dec. 8, 1980. Bad timing Jan Paul Beahm.
  4. Wow, everybody is picking Oakland. That kind of makes me nervous.
  5. Do you just randomly select your fonts? Or purposely try to make your posts incomprehensible? Elvis Presley and Groucho Marx did NOT die on the same day. Elvis died Aug. 16 and Groucho Marx died Aug. 19.
  6. Welcome to show business, honey. Anybody ever see "Swimming With Sharks" with Kevin Spacey? Lady Gaga isn't the first or the last to (allegedly) treat her assistants worse than dirt. It's common behaviour from Berlin to Paris to London to New York to Hollywood amongst the music/film/fashion/entertainment worlds...and not too uncommon in the publishing/legal/financial worlds, either. Then there is that cockroach Terry Richardson. Anything that scumbag is involved in is sure to be seedy...any girl who sees that guy coming should immediately run the other way. Unless you want to be photographed with his cock and cum in your mouth. Why the public-at-large has allowed Anna Wintour and the rest of the fashion industry to escape legal action and anger for allowing this sex criminal access to underage models and for turning a blind eye to his behaviour and making him rich and famous is puzzling. If I had a daughter that was a model or aspired to be a model, I wouldn't let this creep within a hundred miles of my daughter.
  7. Are you insinuating that there was a night where Bonzo's drums weren't like cannons? Seriously, this is the bane of relying only on bootlegs for judging a concert, for ask anyone who saw Led Zeppelin: John Bonham's drums were ALWAYS like cannonballs to your gut. Trying to decide between 6/21 and 6/23 is splitting hairs to the nth degree. I was going to do a song by song contrast like ListenToThis did, and mine might have even turned out similar. But no, I am just going to tell you how I felt after each concert was over. When I came out of the Forum the night of June 21, 1977, I thought I had seen the concert of the year. When I came out of the Forum the night of June 23, 1977, I thought I had seen the concert of my life!!! In fact, I couldn't much think at all for my mind had been COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!!! Keith Fucking Moon had just shared the stage with Led Zeppelin!!!! Now, all of you trainspotters, go ahead and do A<B comparisons between your bootlegs and parse away at all the details and specifics of the performance and bleed the life out of the magical aura of both those nights. Why does there have to be one over the other in the first place? Why cannot we enjoy the miracle that both shows existed in the maelstrom of 1977 and embrace them both...hell, embrace the entire Fabulous Forum run of 1977! For it would never be that way again.
  8. Sorry lad...just couldn't pick them on the road.
  9. +1 Agreed. Though I have no idea what Sir Bob G is like as a person, the Boomtown Rats were a shite band. I had the displeasure of seeing them twice. Please let their reunion stay in the UK and not befoul the rest of the planet.
  10. With NHL Training Camps starting today, it's time to 'DROP PUCK'! Last year, it was the lockout playing havoc with the season. This year, it's the Winter Olympics in Russia that will cause some disarray, although each team will still play the standard 82 game schedule. http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-77356334/ My team, the Los Angeles Kings, have some issues to wonder about...namely, the void left by the departures of Dustin Penner (to his old team the Ducks), Rob Scuderi (also back to his former team Pittsburgh), and goalie Jonathan Bernier (to Toronto), who performed yeoman duty last season while Quick was recovering from back surgery. After coming so close again to the Stanley Cup Finals last year, only to lose to Chicago, the Kings had a plethora of injured players by the end of the playoffs...Dustin Brown, Matt Greene, Rick's favourite ex-Sabre Robyn Regehr, Drew Doughty, Justin Williams. It'll be up to the new blood to step up...although I'm worried if something happens to Quick. Having Bernier as a backup goalie gave one piece of mind. Now, it'll be fraught with mystery. http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-77354428/?related=true

  12. That's all I meant it as, a giggle. Anyone who took it otherwise is taking the internet way too seriously. Back to baking, anybody here a fan of biscuits? I am. Fresh buttery biscuits out of the oven with some honey or fresh strawberry or blackberry preserves...mmmm, heaven. Found a weird recipe that included 7-Up that I am curious to try. Cake, Pie, or Tart? Which is your preference and why? Each has their pluses and minuses (has anyone ever found a true fool-proof pie-crust recipe?). Also, does your preference differ depending on whether we are talking about eating or making said desserts? Last question: Cheesecake...is it cake or pie?

    Reality TV

Hahaha! My sister-in-law watches one of those Real Housewives shows...can't remember if it was New Jersey or Miami...and when she was flipping by the channels I saw that show you mentioned, too! It's called Extreme Cougar Wives and it is on TLC. What exactly TLC expects us to learn from that show is a mystery. Meanwhile, JTM, what is the 'Dave' channel?
  14. Okay, we'll be looking for #32 in the crowd on Sunday. Will you be wearing a Bills or Orioles cap? Or dare I say, a Sabres cap?
  15. ^^^ I like the Raiders to win, too...but I'm not laying 7 points.
  16. I'll wait til I get a better picture of the injury report. I hear Reggie Bush may be questionable for this week...that makes a big difference in whether I pick Detroit or Arizona.
  17. The Chris Davis one? I'm counting on your Bills to come thru, Rick!

My thanks to the Management. Lot of scary games this week, but with my second life, I'll tread a little more carefully. 1000 Carolina -3 @ Buffalo 250 Buffalo
  19. ^^^ Not sure about that...with a short week it might be closer than you think. I think New England will win but the spread is 12.5...not willing to concede that many points.

I'm trying to encourage people to participate. So am I back at square one or at zero points or where?
  21. Come on man, you've got 27 already.
  22. I thought Reggie Bush would be a great pickup for Detroit and he definitely helped them Sunday. On a yards per touch basis, he played better than Adrian Peterson. Now to see how real Detroit is when they go on the road to Arizona. Speaking of real vs. mirage...is Oakland really better than we thought or is Indianapolis not as good as advertised? Maybe a little of both. I had Oakland pegged at 4-12 this season and one of those four victories should come this week in the form of Jacksonville. After KC rolled the Jaguars, if the Raiders don't do the same at home, all the optimism from last Sunday's performance will dissipate and it'll be 'Same old Raiders' again. I didn't watch any of the MNF games, so I've no idea about the Iggles, Taters, Texans yet. I know I'm not the only one who expected the Texans to whoop the Chargers, and was mildly disappointed with the score.
  23. SWEEP THE YANKS! Come on, O's...if ever there was a time to sweep a team, that time is now.
