  1. Steve, perhaps you have answered this one but I am not going waster my time scrolling through 174 pages to find it. Why did Zeppelin stop playing Moby Dick in 1977? Did Bonzo get sick of playing it after 9 years?

Not trying to steal Steve's thunder here, but I'd guess it was a combination of (1) physical deterioration and (2) modernisation/streamlining of the set. After all, Moby Dick/Over the Top often lasted longer than certain punk bands' entire sets.

I for one was pleasantly surprised that there was no drum solo at Knebworth. I'd take 4 or 5 extra 'proper' songs over a Bonzo snore-athon anytime. Sorry, Bonzo.

  2. Not sure what you mean by demo copy

I think I've got the same version Coxneil's referring to. The labels say 'Demo copy not for sale', as well as 'DRGM505' and 'DRGM Enterprises Ltd'.

I've seen this advertised for £200, but that was quite a while ago and personally I can't understand why anyone would pay anything like that in these days of free, sonically superior downloads.

  3. Oh, I'd definitely put my politics aside to "hit that" lulz.

However, she does have the overly-large teeth thing that bugs me a little.

I will refrain from adding the obvious low-brow follow-up regarding how her teeth wouldn't be visible with her mouth full that my inner-neanderthal is begging to include.

I'd hate to be viewed as the kind of one-track-mind dog who'd make a remark like that.

That's one helluva pearl necklace Barack's come up with! Looks like he's double-barrelled her!

  4. I`m older than dirt, lets just say I remember were I was on November 22, 1963 and saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

Yes HP still taste the same but being the son of of a poor white share-cropper, we were lucky to get Funny Face instead of Kool-Aid.

Hur hur, I remember Goofy Grape too :D Awesome stuff.

Purple grape juice (or flavour) was very unusual in the UK until quite recently. But to me, it will always be the quintessential taste of America - along with Hawaiian Punch, proper corn chips (not those tortilla-style abominations), and Reece's Peanut Cups.

  5. Hawaiian Punch, yes.

Kool-Aid, never that I know of.

Ha! Just found a UK site selling it in small cans, about $1.50 a can :(. But if it's the real deal, I'll get some :D

Poindexter, I don't know how old you are, but does it still taste the same?

  6. My Hawaiian Punch and Kool Aid arrived today. In powdered form. So I immediately mixed up a batch of Fruit Juicy Red, which used to be my favourite when I lived in the US in the 60s and 70s.

Surprise surprise - it tastes NOTHING LIKE it used to taste :(

We used to buy it in cans. Can you still get it in cans in the US???

  7. Wasting two hours of my life watching 'Antichrist'. If time's ever passed by more slowly, I must've been asleep. Or tripping.

This has to be the shittiest, most pointless movie ever made. And if there's an uglier woman than Charlotte Gainsbourg, please please PLEASE don't nobody post a picture.

  8. But then again, she's Puerto Rican.

They can't ALL be oriental :D

I went through a bit of a latina phase, but I generally find them a little too butch-looking for my taste. It's probably the angularity of their faces, and the widow's peaks. But I've always been rather fond of this young lady:

  9. "Now dont think Im a reckless maniac." Don't drink and drive! I'm not saying that for your good. I'm saying that for the good of the rest of us. Sorry for being an arse, but ...

If you're going to drink and drive, make sure you've got a car.

What made me happy today? The Frogs getting stomped in the WC :D "Mangez la poussiere, dindes!":P

  10. Oh, hell yeah! Charmane Star. The most beautiful woman who ever lived.

You could well be right, Steve. I'd say her only rival is the young Bardot. But Charmane probably tops her, by virtue of not being French :D
