  1. Zeppelin experience an ego test

Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones says being part of the lineup at the heavily hyped Led Zeppelin 2007 reunion in London featuring singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham’s son Jason on drums turned into survival of the fittest - ego-wise.

What began as a series of shows to remember the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun at Royal Albert Hall turned into a one night Zeppelin reunion at O2 Arena and people began dropping off the bill as a result.

“When it was announced that Led Zeppelin was doing the show, everybody seemed to drop out all of the sudden,” said Jones. “The Stones, Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, everybody just seemed to somehow - the whole thing about Led Zeppelin getting back together for the night — overrode everything else.

“But nevertheless there was a first half to the show which we concluded and it was quite an event. It was incredible seeing Robert and Jimmy together and the band together, you know I wouldn’t have missed that. It was pretty awesome. It was great. And I think everybody ended up happy and I’m sure Ahmet would have been thrilled as well. It was an honor to be there and to be included in all that.”

I think this is the first I've heard of "a series of shows" unless he means there had already been one in NYC.

what are you getting at? private shows were performed? by the way...whats happen'n brother steve?

  2. The atheism example was obviously just that, an example--of somebody else manipulating a readership for entertainment. I have no further interest in that topic.

As for your comment about ninelives, I'm glad to know she'll think it as worthy of being ignored as I do.

lol all along i was thinking ninelives was a male

  3. Don't tempt us, Babs. <_<

Should just add, the notion of Spats also being a regular member is just one that occurred to me as an explanation of how it's possible to keep up the role-playing all this time, namely if he has another outlet as a regular Zep fan. But the author may just get off on creating the character. Like, for instance, the husband of a friend of mine is an atheist (not a Spats atheist! :D ) and we live in a very evangelical Christian area, so periodically he sends pro-atheist letters to the local newspaper for the sheer enjoyment of reading all the replies as the devout readership busts a gut in horror at his views. Tickles me, too. So, in along the same lines, note how every time Spats says something female-related, there's a reliable outpouring of

    :nuke:

I can see how that could be huge fun. Also staying up thinking up dumb replies to people's rational posts. Because there always is one, expressed in a completely deadpan tone--the writer is a genius. ;)

Ninelives is another phony!!! thought i'd add it to the scenario

now...wat a sec...Atheist don't believe in a creator? don't believe in life after death? then why do they chose to continue on living? do they believe in magic? like they type where...

Do Atheist enjoy observing and giving prayers to the stars?

James Randi, is he considered to be atheist?

  4. i don't know if i got it...but what i can tell you is that i became sick on the 23rd and the next day it was all over the news....My symptoms were inflamed joint pain...heavy fever and the sweats after waking up(My brain felt under attack :( )...lots of flem (could be from going two weeks without smoking)...chest pain if i breath heavy.

I do seem to be getting better...slowly though

all i can tell you people is that it is the time of the season...warm weather is arising.

if i may suggest some ibuprofen liquid gels every 4 hours...earl grey tea...and some Mr.noodles(Totally kick ass)

  5. These two songs are mistakes, and of no value - so they should be skipped over. Meddle offers the world of musical wonders, with this in mind...

lol...I just wanted to piss off Mr. know it all.

  6. I would highly recommend Meddle too. It's an amazing album. Definitely ties for second favorite with Wish You Were Here.

Meddle is a tragedy compared to dark side, the wall, wish you were here

San Tropez is a beatles knock off

Seamus was a "crossroads" knock off

  7. Not at all over rated... A phenomenal band just for their lyrics alone. Also, the studio work is incredible...The ideas they came up with were out of this world back then and still are now. There is a Reason why Dark Side of the Moon is called Dark Side of the Moon...you got to find that one out yourself. :D
