  1. I'm pretty sure the latest incarnation of BB Hill on Moonchild has the Nite Owl matrix.
  2. Although they played in FT Worth that day, I think you mixed up with the 'Hot August Night' performance from a year later (August 23, 1971). A great recording!
  3. Thanks for really liberating the Bloomington SB, ZepHead315
  4. Thanks Sam, still this must be a double case of Murphy's Law; 75 soundboard cassettes were flipped after Kashmir, but since Levee was replaced by (the lengthier)In My Time of Dying there should have been a couple of minutes left after Kashmir was finished. Just checked the average length on some of the familiar SB cd's and disc 1 usually varies between 51 and 56 minutes. Maybe Percy was in a very very 'plantative' mood at the Bloomington Met Center🙄

  6. after a small teaser from this January U.S show, it seems somebody paid the right price http://www002.upp.so-net.ne.jp/airraid/sale/DSC02682.JPG can't wait to get my hands on this 😜
  7. Yes, imperfect as it is may be, the Heylin book at least features some other interesting stories. The advent of boot silvers to be specific(TSP, Great Dane, Scorpio, Silver Rarities,...). TMOQ is important, but their glory days were- like- from 69 to 73? 🥱
  8. 🥵Ouch, That hurts GC...(the heat, you know). Of course, Bonzo should adorn the cover...sorry fellow Zep-heads. And yes, those one offs, definitely deserve a place on this compilation; Stand By Me, Four Sticks, Gallows Pole, Your Time is gonna come, Wanton Song, Levee,...
  9. Osaka 929 for me. But I do recognize Steve's sentiments on Fillmore W. 4/27. It was my second CD (after after Berlin 80), thirty years ago and the impact has not lessened .
  10. Title says it all, what would you expect from a 4th volume in the unofficial boxed set series? On the cover; Mr.Jones (of course)! The fourth (and final?) volume in the 'Evolution= Timing' saga is dedicated to the other side of live Zeppelin experience: the best audience recordings. As a guide line (and shoot me, if you disagree!)1969 is limited to one disc since their second concert year is fairly well represented on vol.1. Whereas some years like 70, 72 and 79 were completely not represented on that volume. 1973 and 1975 also faired well due to the availability of top notch SBs, the challenge will be to tailor these concert years a bit down to 'the bare necessities'. 1977 is a different story; the not so well loved 77 boards don’t do justice to the general excitement surrounding their last American tour. The Millard tapes are no brainers, so 77 is a compilation of sorts from the best bits from 6/21, 6/23, 6/25 and some acoustic ditties off 6/27. Destroyer 28 -alas- is a casualty of war. A great show and very nice recording…but could the quality live up to eargasm of Mike’s fantastic recordings? Last but not least; the Copenhagen warm ups. 7/23 has the edge in the fidelity department, but 7/24 is a real cooker which obviously should take the lion share of these final two discs. This is a rough sketch and a work in progress, so your input is crucial. 11. Wow, Thanks for these unexpected treasures...do you remember what kinda gear you used during those days, SLR, lenses...??? (I'm a camera geek you know 🤓)
  12. I'm sorry, I don't think the Orlando SB source was ever released as a separate release on silver. Mine was the 2CD Florida Sunshine version released in 2003 and consists of the SB/AUD merge
  13. Hello Steve, can't wait to listen to your labor of love...Count me in 🙂
  14. Yep that one was/is pretty disgusting. Probably the worst thing imaginable. I know the Swastika symbol has a more positive meaning in Eastern cultures, but such an explicit reference to the most awful chapter in the 20th century...what a morbid idea. I hope mr.Neptune was left with an integral pile of unsold cd's and committed seppukku. This said, whilst browsing through Robert Godwin's collector's Guide, I was flabbergasted by the title of a set of gold 10" acetates as well. 'Zware Lul' (on the fabulous 'Geil' label). Whoever put this shitty rarity out? The title is Dutch for 'Heavy d*ck' and the label is a translation of 'h*orny'. Well that's quite an achievement in boot production, isn't it? 🤯
  15. Congrats, Steve! The punch and oomph are amazing, but somehow the stereo image of the old Stage/multi dub makes me wonder how a true matrix of SB and multi would sound. I tried it myself on audacity for only one track (Communication but synchronizing the two source seems impossible (yes, I have no stamina 😉
  16. I don't know whether you 're looking for a silver copy of that Japanese re-broadcast from the nineties (initially released by Cobla), but Moonchild re-released that one in 2018. Bootledz keeps referring to the Japanese re-broadcast as a mono version, but the stereo image is much more centered and natural sounding (compared to Antrabata's wide stereo pre broadcast source)
  17. Correctemundo JTM, thanks for putting the record straight🤭. These were of course not plain Jane SB's, but Bill Graham's recordings. Probably to be plugged on KSAN radio. Percy's recording levels are perfect for 4/27, but they were off during 4/24
  18. Me too, their last show ever was my first encounter with the SB phenomenon and my first CD set ever (in 1990!!!)..."Bonzo at Last" (On Seagull). Since I had very little experience with audio fidelity on CD's, I thought it was quite OK. Obviously sourced from a cassette, but I was desperate to hear all those post TSRTS tracks live. I was not disappointed. The second SB by the way was the April 27, Fillmore W...That excited me even more, since it was the first time I heard a strange song Howard Mylett mentioned in his little paperback back in the seventies; "As Long As I Have You". Destroyer, Dallas 75 and Osaka 71 followed a few weeks later.
  19. http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/bannisters-bath.html It's already a couple of years old, so I don't know if there are still copies circulating. However when I inquired on the availability of Zeppelin audio on this set...BIG silence.🙄
  20. Yes there are new photo's on top of the familiar ones (e.g. the Hiroshima visit, the Japanese dinner, some concert pics). The additional 1971 concert photos are by no means masterpieces in the same league as Chuck Boyd, Neil Preston, Bob Gruen or Jorgen Angel. As I mentioned earlier the editors preferred a warts'n all approach -especially for September 71. Sharpness (or the lack of), excess grain, underexposure,... were no objections. Judging the overall lightning during the 71 performances , me thinks the stages were not lit as well as U.S or European shows. Especially since Japanese camera manufacturers such as Nikon were already in pole postion for producing high speed telephoto lenses such as the 180 and 300mm ones, the results are a bit frustrating. The 1972 pics are a pleasant surprise. Bottom line: It's a soft cover publication and has more the feel of a deluxe magazine than a coffee table book. I love Japan and am a huge Zeppelin Live in Japan aficionado ...so acquiring this book was a must.
  21. I bought the 'Loose Ends' LP yonks ago (1991?) during a Record Fair (I just had to have a live version of 'The Ocean'). Since I didn't have a turntable, I dubbed the album onto cassette at my brother in Law's house and eventually sold the LP to a fellow Zep-head. It also had a Firm track. Apart from that it was a nice way to have some of the live rarities. On Discogs they're stating this one is from 2010...it isn't, since I snapped it up around 1991 "Thank you it's complete" was originally a double CD on Discurios, one of those early nineties' German' loophole labels. Now that one was bloody awful. The source tape suffered from a distracting background noise (bleed through?) and hiss reduction. If the vinyl is a straight copy of the CD, I would avoid that one.
  22. 🤣 first 500 buyers will receive a free 'Noise Solo' 3CD compilation from the 77 tour
  23. I know Robert...I was referring to evolution=timing vol.4 (the one with the Bonham cover...to be confirmed 😉
