  1. I am a bit late to respond, but I am surprised Queen did not make the top 100. They made great music in my opinion and were one of the most iconic bands of their era. Although music is of course subjective, I do find it utterly absurd that the Beach Boys are placed 12th on that list. I dont mind them actually, but that is just ridiculous. I cannot think of one person that I know who would agree with that placing. Pink Floyd didnt make it either... oh well, every cloud...
  2. It is my second favourite track on the album. It is catchy as hell. Having said that, for me it does not really fit on the album.
  3. I would start with one of my favourites which does not get the credit it deserves - What a Beautiful Day by The Levellers. Uplifting and inspiring... well for me anyway.
  4. I am only 24 and I only really started listening to music on a regular basis about 3 years ago... So this may change in the future. 1. Led Zeppelin 2. The Who 3. Oasis 4. The Kinks 5. The Jam

Well it is all subjective isnt it... I personally dislike Pink Floyd. I personally think they tried to be too clever and insightful. I would rather buy a book on Chinese proverbs than listen to some bloke going on about sheep . But it works for some people... I think there was a sort of rivalry between the two bands in the 70's... Similar to the Beatles vs Stones sort of thing. I am personally not that tribal when it comes to music. If I like the music, I like the music. If I dont, well.... I dont. Simple .
  6. I have just realised that I sort of "responded" to Jimmy's A Legend's post... I must have accidently pressed the quote button beside her post Sorry about that!

No... I eagerly await her response... Cheers
  8. I probably listen to PG the most as several of my most favourite LZ tracks are on the album. But the overall quality lags behind III and IV in my opinion as a couple of the tracks on side two are mediocre in my view. I will give the nod to IV as I like every song on the album, where as III does feature one poor song - Hat's off to Roy Harper.

On the outskirts of Portsmouth, England. Not that far from Headley Grange.

Thanks for the welcome... whats this "thing" you have with The Who? Just curious...
  12. After somebody at work told me that LZ were the greatest band of all time, I was naturally curious. I went onto you tube just to check out a couple of their tunes and the first song I listened to was "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"... I have been hooked ever since.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the song... It is ok and is one of the better songs on HOTH in my view. I was more surprised with the inclusion of D'yer Mak'er. However, HOTH is my least favourite album overall and if it was up to me, I would not of put 4 HOTH tracks on the compilation. The fact that there was 4 tracks from HOTH, but only 3 tracks from both II and PG and only 2 from III surprised me a little bit.

It is a good compilation but I would of liked to have seen more from III. III is a classic and deserved more than 2 entries in my opinion. I also disagree with the inclusion of D'yer Mak'er and No Quarter and I was somewhat surprised Custard Pie was not included in the album. But overall, pretty good I think.
  15. Hello everyone. My name is Dave. Although The Who are a close second, Led Zeppelin are the greatest... As well as listening to music, my hobbies include football/soccer (Portsmouth FC), swimming and watching documentries. See you around
