  1. And it's beginning to show. Their first team's a bit of a joke right now. What's Monsieur le Citron trying to prove? He's got the money, hasn't he? Much more of his penny-pinching tutting on the sidelines and they'll be consgined to mid-table mediocrity. Not that I give a toss, but I hear the natives are growing increasingly restless. What a great time it must be to be a Spurs fan.
  2. Bang on, Steve. I thought the jukebox pic looked familiar. It's similar to one in the Mojo feature - which, incidentally, included far more pics, most likely from his book. The one of him sitting in his boat has him wearing the same cardigan he wore at RAH, I believe. Being the inveterate trainspotter that I am, I just compared the lengths of the Spanish paragraphs and their headings to those in Mojo. They appear to be a perfect match, apart from the penultimate Mojo para which has been dropped in the Spanish version. Why? Because it speculated that LZ might be playing Glasto this summer.
  3. Translate it? I can't even read it! Looks like Spanish, in which case I couldn't help anyway. French or German, maybe. But as Phil Alexander is the interviewer, chances are it will end up in Mojo. In English, ideally.
  4. It's been reported that the owner of an American baseball team (the Boston Red Sox, I believe) is poised to buy out the current yank owners of Liverpool. Do any of you guys across the pond know of this chap? Is he likely to be an improvement over Hicks and Gillette, or will it be a case of 'out of the frying pan and into the fire'? Can the schadenfreude mob realistically hope for him to be a savage asset-stripper?
  5. 'Don't Stop Believing' prog? Are you sure about that? If you're still at all curious, can I suggest the following: 'Utopia' and 'Ra' by Todd Rundgren's Utopia; Some of ELP's less bombastic moments, such as Trilogy and Brain Salad Surgery (particularly Karn Evil 9); Relayer by Yes, and their unfairly maligned Topographic Ocens. Both are beautiful listening experiences, once you get your head around them. However, it would be wise to continue to steer well clear of the Crims.
  6. Me, sarcastic? Nah, you got the wrong guy there, Bill. Yes, that was the precise gesture I had in mind. But I take your point about the security goons. Even so, I still find it hard to believe that this couplet alone could provoke such mirth and merriment. Can nobody shed any light on this? Not even the mighty Steve A Jones?
  7. Tom, I'd say there are tons of boots that sound better than TSRTS, in terms of the quality of both sound and performance. Even at the time of its original release, I recall people making the same observations, although I was yet to acquire my first LZ boot (Earl's Ct vols 1 & 2, quickly followed by Blueberry Hill), so I didn't know this at the time, and was more than happy to make do with this seemingly awesome release. It's a bit like fish fingers - they taste great, until you discover lobster. But back in 76, Zep were obviously stuck with the performances they'd filmed. To be hon
  8. If a woodchuck could chuck wood, how much wood would a woodchuck chuck?
  9. No Zep live album is anything like the feeling of actually being there. Not even close. But you'll just have to take my word for that.
  10. Jenna Jameson? Is that the pinnacle of your aspirations, Electro? Jenna's a total skank. You're WAY hotter than her.
  11. She probably means Buddy & Patty.
  12. Ally, much as it pains me to admit it, I do tend to agree. The game needs a strong Liverpool. On the other hand, it's great fun watching them struggle! I don't doubt they will rise again, but as someone once recently said, they'll probably win the Championship before they win the Prem. But all poverty is relative, and IMO the real tragedy at the moment is the plight of Sheff Wed. Ok, they were never GIANTS, but they're a big club, and they're in danger of going under for £600k. Someone highlighted the disparity between the finances of Prem & FL clubs the other day by pointing out that
  13. That's weird, Silver. Same kind of thing happened to me the other day. I was playing Terry Reid's 'Seed of Memory' for the first time in years. Then I flicked through the channels and found 'The Devil's Rejects' movie - featuring THREE songs form Seed of Memory. Or was it the other way round? Can't remember now, I was really wasted. Also, I was just thinking the other day how much I hated that pic of RP in Electrophile's avatar - he looked really smug and smarmy. Lo and behold, she's changed it! Not sure the replacement's an improvement - one of her own works, perhaps? - but it proves my p
  14. You'll have to explain what that means, but it sounds like an insult. Better not be, or you'll be going on my ignore list.
