  1. For a long time I've thought this guy was John Bonham himself. I'm not so sure about that, noawadays. I tend to think it's not John because I've never seen any other picture of him with similar clothes + if you zoom on the picture and his face, that's not him for me. Here are some pics of Philippe Paringaux : That's Philippe on the left Another photo It's a pity I can't find pictures of Paringaux from the time he was working as chief editor with Rock & Folk in Paris in the beginning of the 70's.
  2. That's just a clouded wink at Sandy Pearlman's poetry. Who was Sandy Pearlman ? Blue Öyster Cult's mentor in the seventies. You can find mention of a seaweed gate in the album Imaginos and the eponymous song "Blue Öyster Cult" which is a reworking of "The Subhuman" (Secret Treaties.) I've always thought BÖC was a vastly underrated band. That's my all-time favourite American band anyhow.
  3. Spot on with the LZ I box set release next June I believe. Weird thing is the article came way before the official statement about 2014 releases ...
  4. 60 pages article. Most of the article comes back on solo careers, pre and post-Zep eras. Another chapter deals with all three French Zeppelin appearances in the year 1969.
  5. Forget Seattle. As for the USA 1977 Tour , let's go back to Cleveland, second night. THIS show is the real thing :
  6. I don't think Jimmy wants to put out a solo album and, as I've said before, I'm pretty convinced he's now focused on Led Zeppelin. Today, a Belgian website, rtbf.be, publishes this information : Warner will release in November a double dvd from the Led Zeppelin 2007 show in London ! http://www.rtbf.be/classic21/article_le-live-2007-de-led-zep-bientot-en-dvd?id=7832707
  7. On the other hand, do you remember since when Jimmy had talked about the wish to release a chronological live album ? If I remember it accurately, it was as early as the second half of the seventies ... And when did it came as a reality, this project ? ............ 2003, with the double dvd, nearly 25 long years after having firstly thought about it ! So, I think this example demonstrates that even if a very long time is running between beginning to talk about a project and really turning it into reality, this is definitely NOT a factor for dismissing it in the first place. The only major objection to this reasoning being that Jimmy, just like everyone here, is no immortal, so time is no more on our side .... This fact explaining maybe a bit why some internauts here are so nervous about the topic of Jimmy apparently doing nothing ...
  8. Unless you are blessed with a gift of prophecy, of course you cannot say it is.
  9. It seems to me that in Jimmy's mind, there's no hidden or malicious intention to lie or manipulate people by declaring he's on the way to release new music. Why ? Because if it was only up to him (or John Paul and Jason actually) the album would have been there for a long time now. People are turning all their anger and frustration over Jimmy which is not fair because he is NOT the one who has missed the opportunity in the first place. It seems pretty clear that after the O2 show, Jimmy had in mind a tour and new music along the way. The only missing but crucial piece being that he failed to convince Robert to follow the path. In an interview published by Uncut Magazine in May 2008, Plant says : "And hopefully, one day, we could do it again for another really, really good reason. Our profit is - it's metaphysical. And that's the thing, especially with my connection with Jimmy. I mean, the two of us are almost umbilically attached in some strange way and have been down the years. And that's survived everything. From the time I was 19 to now, when I'm 59." I think it's based on the strength of such declarations that Jimmy is patiently waiting for Robert to rise once again. Don't despair. In France we have an expression for that kind of situation where the only thing you could do is hope and wait in confidence : "Tout vient à point pour qui sait attendre." Even if I don't know the words, I'm pretty sure there's an English equivalent. Yes I've found the translation : All things come to those who wait.
  10. Come on, how do you think they would have called themselves ? BODEGA : Bunch Of Dinosaurs Erecting Generously in an Advanced Age ? Yes, we could never be sure. But if you take the best of what Page, Jones and Plant have produced in their solo outfits and mixed it together, it could be nothing less than spectacular. All is required is focus and vision. According to Jason, there's at least a song on the last Black Country Communion studio record which originates from the aborted sessions held after the O2 reunion show : Save Me. Great song. The main riff is 100% Page, for sure. Maybe Page should guest on the next BCC III if Robert doesn't want to be back with him. It could be awesome. I'd really like to see Jimmy work with Jeff Martin, the singer of the Canadian Tea Party. It could perfectly gel together. They know each other via Roy Harper and the Tea Party had guested on a bunch of Page/Plant Canadian dates, I think.
  11. Why DOESN'T Pagey Do Something? ----------------------------------> Because he wants the best for his music, and the best is the west. Page is not the one who deliberately chooses to stand on his laurels, retire and say that he is composing and producing new music, in the same time. Page wanted to go further with John Paul, Jason and Robert after the O2, alas it didn't work with Robert. So, what options remains ? Releasing intrumental music ? Going back with David ? Going back with the Crowes ? Recording an all star jam thing ? None of these choices equals the perspective of a brand new LZ record. As simple as that.
  12. Hi LZ77, There's better than photos to enjoy : just take a look at this link These sessions were recorded on October 3, 1978, at Abbey Road Studios and feature John Paul Jones and John Bonham. There are more complete video of these sessions (around 40 minutes length If I remember) available on Youtube but not in the same awesome quality I'm afraid.
  13. Agreed. Hamburg is pretty terrific ! This is the best of all the German Spring dates for me. If only we'd have the whole soundboard instead of this very partial recording ....and still it shines brightly as one of the BEST LZ shows ever. Come on, cruel and inhuman hoarders ! Liberate this beauty, after all these years ....
