  1. That's a nice thought planted, it but doesn't work for me. Been burned once too often. I look at people's actions to judge now, not words. However, I do believe this is one exception when it comes to what people tell you...... "And there ain't nothin' like a friend Who can tell you you're just pissin' in the wind. ---Neil Young
  2. Getting the last of the Christmas cards signed and out in the mail. At least that's the goal!
  3. "Well I looked at the granite markers, Those tribute to finality - to eternity. And then I looked at myself here, Chicken scratching for my immortality..." Joni Mitchell

  4. Yep, the entire Court and Spark album. It's easy to see why the boys in the band (Zep) admired her so. Me too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwiBsNzO2HU
  5. A Beatles fan and a Zeppelin fan.....well you can't go wrong with those two! Great taste in music , Joe.

  6. Right now this..... Then some Free. I hope you catch this one Deb.
  7. Forgive me, I'm late, I'm late! Happy Birthday and a Happy Everything to you my dear friend Kiwi. They don't come nicer, sweeter, or smarter than you. I hope you had a perfect day and many more to come I am sure!! Missy
  8. Nice, april lynn! That is one snazzy shirt. Makes me happy also because it reminds me of when I got my own one just like it (except it was black w/white lettering) at their live show in Tampa 1977. But somehow I managed to lose it over the years. Guess that's one for the unhappy thread. Happy you have one. Missy
  9. I remember exactly when I saw the news come across my black and white TV Monday evening December 8th, 1980. A day I will never forget. :'( Missy Still Dearly Missed, Never Forgotten, RIP John Lennon. 1940-1980.
  10. Best Line>> "And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene....." (Harry is one cool cat.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdzLGsBtZCw
  11. I got this when it came out and have just started reading. I like the style. It's almost 100 percent quotes from a large cast of people that interacted with the band. There are also sources for every quote in the back of the book making these quotes credible in my eyes. The subject matter varies and it isn't organized by year to year as you might expect. But, I can flip it open to any page and quickly find a quote from someone (occasionally the band members themselves) with interesting info (often new to me). Great pick up and read book, recommended.
  12. Stephen Stills (and Crosby and Nash) from their 2012 Tour. I love watching the different tones that Stephen Stills pulls from that guitar, stunning.
  13. Congratulations on your new job Joe! And two new Led Zeppelin shirts too? You are on a roll, friend. Happy Holidays to you. Missy
  14. Best of Luck Joe! Post back when you get the good news. Missy
  15. My 19 year old son stumbled onto this song yesterday and was blasting it over and over....I know the song of course, but never followed Bon Jovi in the day. I told my son to try a little Black Dog for some good classic rock. Anyway, a full day later and I STILL can't get this song out of my mind. (not too bad though) Warning: Listen at your own risk of song stuck-itis.
  16. "Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold." --Zelda Fitzgerald.
  17. chillumpuffer, you are so right! One time I saw my dentist driving his Benz and wanted to ask him if I could take it for a spin since I felt like I paid for at least half of it! (My dentist and I go way back.) But while they do charge an arm and a leg, I have to add another happy thought here...I'm happy I have dental insurance. It helps by about 50 percent (but I still own a chunk of that Mercedes). Missy
  18. The day started out unhappy with a trip to the dentist for a painful cavity.... But an hour later, the cavity is filled and the pain is gone!! Definitely happy now. Missy
  19. ^^^ Sounds lovely Virginia. It's quite chilly here in Florida; sweater weather. A clear, starry night about 60 degrees, but in Florida weather that equals about 40 degrees up North weather, lol. We are not used to it, but it sure is a nice break from the heat and humidity!
  20. Lookin' Good Magic! Great to see you back on the forum. I've missed seeing you around here. Missy
  21. I don't know who that bass player is, but wow...he is good!
  22. Happy Birthday Sweet Joni Mitchell (November 7, 1943). Thank-you for enriching my life with your beautiful music and words.....
  23. Only recently began listening to Bob Dylan via You/Tube and haven't ordered anything yet from his massive backlog. The one Bob Dylan album I do own and bought in the 70's was Slow Train Coming as they were playing a lot of it on FM radio at the time. I'm excited about a book I ordered yesterday with all his lyrics (1962-2001) and will probably get my next Bob D. CD based on that. Might be considered a bit weird, but I'm a lyrics person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f8NExi_ybQ&feature=fvwrel
  24. Kiwi, my heart breaks to hear news like this. Deborah is right, life is so precious and when something like this happens how can you not just cry and wonder why? I hope you are doing okay...and my condolences to this young man's family and friends too. Anything you need my friend, just ask. Missy
