  1. Hi and how are you? Thanks for accepting the friendship add. So tell me, is Leddy going to let you out of the basement to watch the Super Bowl? lol. I hope so, it should be a good game! :) .......missy

  2. Indeed. I never tire of this gorgeous piece of music. **Thank-you for showing me a new version!........... missy
  3. Hello and thanks for the info! I have the P/P version on dvd and yes agree it's wonderful. Even though Jimmy is playing it with a different guitar (don't know if that changes anything really) and there is an orchestra present, it is a terrific version. On Y/Tube I've seen the Earl's Court, P/P and Knebworth live versions of Rain song ,--but I can't recall ever seeing anything from 1980. Maybe it's under a different search title? I'll try to track it down as it is my favorite song overall from the band. Thanks again for the tip. ............. missy
  4. Hi Nobody's Fault, Afraid I feel compelled to take you up on that challenge, my friend. Although I do agree that Tangerine is beautiful and moving, this is just a little better.............IMO missy
  5. Hey Kiwi! How are ya? I had to pop in and second Magic's congratulations to you. What an accomplishment! If I'm not being too personal, by any chance are you planning to become a teacher of some kind? With your patience and people skills, I think you would surely make a great one! A toast to your success friend............... missy
  6. First, Congratulations to you Hey, Hey on your engagement. Here's wishing a lifetime of happiness to you and yours!! Second, the reason I posted on this board is I'm happy today that I have finally had a reply on how to do the Multi-quote feature! I know that sounds trivial (and compared to the other stuff listed above it is, lol.). But I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. I can be such a dummy on very basic computer stuff. Anyhow, Type O set me straight profile page with instructions and here we are with the results. Yea! I did it! ................... missy P.S. Good Post Hotplant.
  7. I agree with you ally and Deborah. In a busy areas I visit it seems like everyone (or nearly) is in their own little bubble. The bubble of their Ipod, Ipad, Blackberry, cell phone gabbing, or otherwise not paying attention to anything outside that little bubble they are ensconced in. It's easy to get discouraged about people sometimes. But then they are those that do step up quietly everyday helping others. Exactly like you did with that fellow you helped Deb. That's what we have to be happy about...................... missy.
  8. Hi! Sorry, my entry #14041 above is wrong! I didn't know how to play the game...clueless and no instuctions on the first page. Now that I figured it out, I would like to play again this time the right way. ...missy "You Never Give Me Your Money."......................The Beatles.
  9. Hi Jahfin, Geez, this is embarrassing. Yes, I actually did enlarge the photo. What made me think it was a guy was the leather bomber style jacket, the aviator style sunglasses, the somewhat uncombed hair, and the way she is sitting in the chair. On the other hand, I thought guys do not normally hold their cigarettes like that and also would a guy put his hand on Bonzo's shoulder like that? So I wasn't 100 percent sure, as I said in my original reply. All my reasoning should be thrown out anyhow as it is based on stereotypical ideas of male/female. But in my weak defense, that's all I had to go on. I think if the photo was in color (or even better with caption) then it would have been easier for people (me at least) to tell gender. Thank-you both and SteveAJones too for the additional info about the Showco staff. That information also would explain her dress code etc. I'd like to end this with a smiley face with egg all over it's face, but since we don't have one.......... missy P.S. I just noticed that I neglected to answer Lorraine's other question and can't edit it now. Hi Lorraine! If you catch this post, one thing I'm sure of is that is not a picture of Charlotte Martin. Sorry I overlooked that question earlier!....... your friend missy
  10. Hi kiwi, That is so sweet of you to come back and post a reply. No need to aplogize. I've read many of your posts and it's easy to see what a thoughtful and kind person you are. I would never feel blown off by you friend. But I must admit...... it does feel nice when you ask a specific person something and they do come back and offer you their thoughts. And it doesn't always happen here either, so thank-you. Speaking of clips, this post gave me another shot at listening to this clip, and it is good!! However, I'm not a Yes expert at all. I'd like to become one though. Most of my familiarity with the band comes from their early period of music. So really I'm new to them also (with respect to their later body of work). Looks like we'll both want to check this thread from time to time! I ordered "Yessongs" dvd this week. I'll come back and post a vid if there is some good stuff in it. Cheers!............ missy
  11. Hi kiwi,

Hope all is going your way! :) I enjoy seeing you on the boards. You have a way of spreading kindness to others. Well, guess it's back to fantasy #124 for me. :) Stay in touch...your friend missy.

  12. Hi Magic! Very funny. I hope he is with us a long time too. Well, he should be. It's not like he ever has to stress about finding a job or career, correct? .............missy
  13. It sounds like he is doing a great tribute to his Dad. I don't understand how that's exploitive. It was his Dad, after all. At the same time, Jason and band are playing some great music at the shows. The show has received good reviews. I wish you would go back to SteveJones #746 entry on this thread. You may come away with a different take on what the show is about and how good it really is. ........... missy
  14. Hi Lorraine! I don't know how to tell you this, but I think that is a guy. But I could be wrong....I'm sure someone here will know.............. your friend missy P.S. Have fun Saturday!
  15. Hi FireOpal,

I've missed seeing you around the boards. Hope all is well. Eventually, I'm going to get over to the Yesfans site. Are you still an active member there? ....... :) missy

  16. Hi Lorraine,

How are you? Just wanted to say Hello, one newbie to another.

By the way, I enjoyed the astrology thread you started. I was afraid to check my status as I am typical Virgo and I prefer to keep it, lol.

Hope to see you around the boards sometime! your friend missy

  17. Hi Walter,

Thanks so much for your tip on which shows to get. With any luck I should be getting Earl's Court soon. :) missy

  18. leddy, two words,--selective memory. On Topic. This is the BEST Joni line-up. This is from her Shadows and Light dvd. The musicians are Pat Metheney-guitar, Michael Brecker-sax, Jaco Pastorius-bass , Lyle Mays-Keys and Don Alias on Drums.
  19. One of the things I believe gets overlooked about Joni is how prolific she is as a song lyricist. She has written thus far over 255 songs over the course of her career. Many have been covered, but here she does a sort of "pre-cover" of this Neil Young classic* song in 1967. It's quite charming at the begininning where she muses "I wonder if this will ever be recorded"? Also, I found her comment "I never tune in standard" interesting. If nothing else, this is worth watching for the slide show. It's easy to see why JP and RP would admire her so. IMO of course....missy, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAUaESAAr60&playnext=1&list=PLA69B47B70D2E632B&index=21 *From songfacts...."Young wrote this in 1964 on his 19th birthday, just after leaving his band The Squires. The song is about losing the idealism of youth." That's all from me. Any other Joni fans out there in the Zeppelin universe? ....missy
  20. Jafhin, Maybe something happened in the year 1998? You may have seen this video, but here she seems to be making gentle fun of Dylan's voice/lyrics?? Is that a fair assessment? Definitely not my fave song, but I like this version because she does a little ad-lib Bob Dylan. She is 55 years old in this video clip from 1998. Joni still looks and sounds fabulous, can we agree on that?............ missy .
  21. It doesn't really matter to me which thread is used. I would just like to see if there are any other fans of Joni like myself. For those that won't see the blacked out post I started, here's what I thought would be two good jumping off points for discussion of her different but wonderful styles she progressed through musically. Here's the video with probably her most famous composition. Early Joni: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GiGUtZOi_I Here's a video below from her later seventies period, deeper vocals, more jazzy flavored: ***Those Joni newbies, hang in the below video until the 2:12 mark when Jaco Pastorius comes in and the song really opens wide**. Only 3 players on "Cotton Avenue", Joni-guitar and vocals, Jaco-bass, and John Guerin-drums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7aTrb_GNC0 So.....danelectro59 and BIGDAN what do you think? Early, Later, or Everything Joni (my choice!)............ missy
  22. "You've Got a Friend"............ by James Taylor
  23. What do you YES fans think of this? It's good stuff! I am going to order this asap as it is available from the "Lost Broadcasts" dvd. FireOpal, this is for you, if you stop by. You can have his Royal Bassness and I'll go ahead and "settle" for Jon Anderson. Deal??....missy
  24. Hey Walter,

Just wanted to say Hi. Heard any good Zeppelin songs lately? missy

  25. Hi Jahfin, Remember what my mama always told me..."a frown is just a smile turned upside down!" Here's a video I picked just for you! Because we all need a little sunshine now and then,--don't you think?........missy Feel free to play it loud and play it often.
