  1. Good one fellas!

Q: What is the difference between an Australian fielder and a condom?

A: One drops a catch and the other catches a drop.

Make the most of it for the next 18 months or so until we go over there and we'll see who has the last laugh! :P

Well done to the Poms and it must make a nice change to be winners again particularly away from home, finally, after 20 odd years.

Don't get too carried away, SA will be hard to beat anywhere and India aren't pushovers either with their "concrete" pitches and they play well away too.

Complacency can be as big a factor in winning or losing, just as much as the opposition.

Good luck and remember we will be watching you!

LOL I'll take that as a grudging "congratulations".

    Thanks anyway.

Now we'll see if the Aussie fans will still get behind their team like the Barmy Army consistently got behind England during the crap years.

  2. HAH:)...I grew with up those mates down in Wollongong way, south of Sydneytown.....I once saw the Bunyip Republic with a very young Hogan at Oak Flats High in the mid 70s:):)

    Did ya? Blimey.

Are Ron and Val Taylor considered icons in Oz? If not they should be.

  3. Paul Hogan. Already been mentioned but I mean the Paul Hogan pre Crocodile Dundee when he had his t.v show with Strop and Delvene Delaney etc.

    AC/DC.

Lots of sexy women, great beer and gorgeous beaches. If only it wasn't so hot.

    Down to earth blokes.

    Neighbours.

Home and Away (yes I have watched them both since they first started in the 1980s).

  4. As I understand it (and I don't understand the rules of cricket at all!), Australia can't regain the Ashes at this point even if there's a draw. Is that right Kiwi?

If England win this test then no Australia cannot win the Ashes. The holders retain the Ashes with a draw. So even if England win this test and Australia win the last test it will finish 2-2 and England keep hold of them.

  5. I wish I could cross the pond and check out London someday. But its not that high on my wife's travel list. I am working on it though. Cheers as you say over therre!

Thats a shame. I would have thought that London should be high on everyone's travel list if they haven't been there. It's one of the great destinations in the world and totally unique.

It's like New York and Paris. I still look at people funny if they tell me they have no interest in visiting New York.

London, New York, Paris. Maybe Rome. These cities are MUSTS if you haven't been to them.

  6. ^

Tell me about it. I was in Melbourne once on a nice sunny day. Then the heavens opened up and it rained heavily for 2 hours solid and I only had on a t-shirt (well and trousers etc). I had to stand under the roof of Flinders Street train station until it stopped. They say if you don't like the weather in Melbourne to just wait a bit as it will soon change LOL. I can believe that.

  7. You probably watch wrestling too. Its ridiculous just like Rugby. It stinks. It has no organization and is an ambulance ride waiting to happen. A "mans game?". Sure, I think you mean a moron's game. Brains in your ass type of game.

    The old saying was:

"Football (soccer) is a game played by gentlemen and watched by thugs while rugby is game played by thugs and watched by gentlemen".

Never believed it but that was the old saying.

Of course I have no idea what any of this has to do with Canada but.............
