  1. Thank You had mellotron? It was organ! Anyways, I love the You Shook Me ending.
  2. Harper wasn't terrible, but it's not a great song compared to the other actually amazing songs Led Zeppelin did. I personally don't get the hate for Hots on for Nowhere; that's a great song.
  3. 1) Yes, it is. No bullshit; just pure concert. 2) We're doing the "Immigrant Song" thing, but more accurately. Trust me, there are no split second jump cuts! We're only going to use material that looks like it fits the song (we're not going to add a shot into No Quarter with John Paul on bass, or something into TSRTS with Page playing his Les Paul, etc.) plus using footage from "The First Cuts," 8mm films, etc. We're not passing this as 100% genuine, but it'll be much better than a concert with mock up footage/footage that doesn't match the song. 3) Btw, Dick Carruthers used stills from the film to cover footage with no gaps, not photos. There are some interesting ones that pop up.
  4. The drum sound is very 1973 too. Everything about this recording points to it being 1973.
  5. Unfortunately, that shot was from Shepperton Studios, but the audio was from the first night in New York. There is an 8mm clip that perfectly matches with that intro, but it's not complete - it almost is, though.
  6. Anodizingstatic and I are doing the best we can to create a no-Shepperton cut of TSRTS with Plantations and all!
  7. No, z1inspector, I wasn't even born when that movie came out! I've studied the footage for well over 3 years and I've come to identify which footage comes from what night and whether it's Shepperton or not.
  8. I do like the roaming cameras, though. A lot of the real shots give us some amazing angles of the band.
  9. I still disagree with the fact that the fantasy sequences were used exclusively to fill footage gaps. They obviously had more footage of Whole Lotta Love, The Rain Song, The Song Remains the Same, Dazed and Confused, and Moby Dick in The First Cuts, and judging on what I've seen/synced of the footage, there were at least 2 cameras filming at a time. A full performance of Moby Dick (using footage from all three nights) looks possible. I wouldn't doubt that there were gaps in which no cameras were filming, but they obviously had more than enough film to capture a whole concert. Shepperton, in my opinion, was done for movie factor. They didn't have much freedom to film from cool angles like they did at Shepperton. Basically, the answer to all of this is MOVIE MAGIC.
  10. Thanks Steve for your reply. Are there any confirmed dates as to when they were there?
  11. Fantasy > Shepperton, imo. I'd rather see the band's dreams and fantasies rather than mock up "concert" footage. We're going to be doing what we can to ensure that no Shepperton will be included.
  12. I've been wondering this for a while. When in August 1974 was the Shepperton reshooting done? Was it completed in one day? Or multiple days?
  13. UPDATE! This project has turned into "The Song Remains Unchanged," a fan edition like no other, brought to you by ledzepfilm and anodizingstatic. The main goal is to get rid of ALL of the Shepperton and non-concert bullshit and present the concert with only 100% real MSG footage. Using 8mm, the outtakes, and the various official releases involving this footage, we believe that this will be the best way to enjoy the concert. Hopefully there's some interest for something like this!
  14. Again. I can't stand the fact that you can't hear Ringo's drums.
  15. That was enjoyable! Highlights included "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." And while the Paul-Ringo reunion was cool, you couldn't hear Ringo's drums AT ALL. Whenever he plays, he has another drummer playing over him. I love Abe Laboriel Jr., Paul's drummer, but I would love to hear Ringo. Did anyone notice how much Yoko danced during "Boys?"
  16. Damn, has time flied? 50 years ago The Beatles rocked the Ed Sullivan show... twice. The first one was prerecorded to air on the third consecutive Sunday of Beatle appearences on the show. The second was the more famous 250 million viewer one. Anyone watching the Grammys special tonight?
  17. I grabbed it from a familiar place, Sue, and the DVD is an exact copy of ssellers' great DVD. Unfortunate.
