  1. Before my power goes out for good, wanted to wish everyone in Nemo's path well (planted, Anjin-san, SuperDave, The Chase, and anyone I've missed).

Ah, it has a name! Nemo. And it is apparently looking for us here too! Oh well, I haven't had to use my snow blower for over a month, we are due I suppose.

All the best to everyone in it's path.

  2. Planted...I'd like to add my appreciation to you and your co-workers too. My sister is an oncology nurse as well, I have an idea of what she goes through daily, and therefore you too.

This past October we lost our Dad after his fourth battle with cancer, we got to know many of his wonderful nurses. I know you could understand what it must have been like for my sister having her own parent as a patient!

  3. FINALLY got on my own cell phone plan. One for ME!!! And in case anybody is wondering, I ended up getting the iPhone 4 in white. I'm rather happy about that.

Fan of the phone here. It saves time, it wastes time, it kills time, it tells time, you can take pictures of time, heck you can even make calls on it!

I even have several apps on mine that are useful for work!

  4. I don't know what I would do without my dad. We always do fun things together as well as my mom but, dad likes the loud stuff!!! :D

Hear Ye! That's the way it is with my daughter and I. With her mother it would be "...Led what?"

  5. Great hear about that Virginia! :)

This morning I popped my racing cherry and drove a NASCAR race car at a local half-mile track! It was unbelievable! Didn't wreck anyone or anything, so that was good! ;)

I have a whole new appreciation for the sport....even though I have been a fan for over 30 years now.

    On my bucket list!

I have driven some minor league race cars, but to pilot one of the big league cars would be a hoot!

Have you come back down to earth yet? I would be on a high for a while I think.

A buddy of mine is going to the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Loudon NH this summer! Very jealous of you and him.

  6. I took one my twins to set up her account with the credit union. She was tired of Wells Fargo charging her $5 bucks a month. She wants to keep her hard earned $$.

I then watched Millions with the youngest. There aren't too many movies a dad can watch with a teenager daughter nowadays. The only thing we were missing was the pop corn.

I was able to get her a student account, no fees till she turns 19. Then they will hit her with them from all sides.

I am lucky on the movie scene, my daughter loves all kinds of movies so finding one we both like isn't too hard most times. Wasn't always the case of course. High School Musical!!!!!!!

  7. Hey Missy, I'm totally with you on the bookmarks thing! Chrome has it, it's just a bit different, and once you use it a bit I think you just might like it better. I know I do. Sounds like you have some technical support at your beck and call, so a quick "how to" from them would get you going in a jiffy.

LZ Girl and slave tz...either of you feeling any better?

  8. It sure did; my youngest daughter has since made Honor Roll, and my son just qualified for Regionals (swimming) in 2 individual events :cheer::yay:

That's one proud Mama! Great news.

Just spent a fantastic afternoon with my daughter. Picked up a drivers hand book, she'll be 16 soon. Got her new bank account set up, she'll be working soon... :hysterical: Went to the mall, got some great deals on some stuff. Made our routine stop at out favourite pawn shop, we both picked up a DVD. I got Stevie Ray Vaughn Live at the el Mocambo. We then went to a DVD/games/music store and found a sweet new/used record section hidden in a large room way out back. Could spend a small fortune there quite easily. What a great selection they had. In my best Arnold voice I said "I'll be back!"

While at the mall we went into HMV. My daughter spotted some pictures on a shelf and started leafing through them. She yelled over to me to come see them. Some great ones, Beatles, Pink Floyd (no Zeppelin) and she pointed out a picture she liked of a woman, said it was Audrey Hepburn. I asked her how she knew that, because it was not written on it anywhere. She said she was a fan of her's for a while now! Who knew?

  9. I feel fortunate not to have any serious complaint. But can I say this. When is Microsoft going to make a decent Windows program that doesn't crash with that da*m blue screen? And how about a a decent browser besides IE which so far twice in the last hour has put up the stupid white page with the little globe and red X saying, "IE cannot connect..." I am seriously considering going with Apple for my next computer!! Thanks for letting me spout off and everyone have a good weekend. Missy

Hey MissyTS! Haven't seen you here for a bit. I use Google Chrome now, was having problems with IE too. Chrome has worked flawlessly for a couple of years for me now.

Have yourself a good weekend too.
