  1. There is nothing wrong with humour, but I think it's very wrong trying to humiliate people! And Stern laughed like he enjoyed it, not because it's funny, but because he could put down Jimmy Page! I don't listen to his show otherwise, so it's hard to tell the way he is!

That's how it came across to me and my message is not trying to overprotect Jimmy, just because I'm a fan and think my heroes are untouchable! The whole thing just didn't give me a good filling! Sorry!

And I know Stamos in terms of playing in Full house! I just said I don't know him personally!

I still wonder about the key of Over the hills solo! Anyone please? Thanks!I'm not exactly shure!

    Dmaj is OTHAFA.

Also, to say it is difficult to solo in F# is fucking stupid, a solo in F# (minor pentatonic scale) is easy as fuck, even a ballon head like John Stamos could pull off a simple F# solo. Jesus Christ, it's not like he was talking sweep picking or a solo in a Mixolydian jazz scale with 1/4 - full bend - pull off / slide and hammer and then ending by switching to a Dorian progression like some crazy Steve Vai shit or something. Saying Jimmy thought an F# solo was difficult would be akin to a Nobel Prize winning chemist claiming making a box of Pillsbury Muffins was too complex.

Shit John Stamos, if ya gona talk shit at least know the lingo! No wonder this asshole is selling Greek yogurt, that's what you get from some prick giving it to everyone in the ass.

  2. I agree with you on RFK and Sirhan Sirhan not being the lone gunman. I do strongly disagree though that if Hickey fired the fatal shot, it had to be accidental because its all on the Zepruder film. No way can a man not looking in that direction holding an AR15 and moving and turning to his right fire a fatal head shot in one try in a moving car. Ridiculous. Impossible. It was an accident if Hickey's shot did in fact hit JFK> The cover up after, is another story

Hey, if you are correct, and it was an accident, that guy will go down in history as the most incompetent person of all time. Just imagine, it's one thing to lose an account at your job but it's quite another to accidentally kill your boss while you are in the act of protecting him. If he did not retire afterward I bet Johnson had him removed from future Presidential details and instead had him protecting Khrushchev instead!

  3. Woops! My bad, almost forgot the greatest conspiracy theory of all time:

Did Led Zeppelin sell their souls to Mephistopheles for fame & fortune? Was Ahmet in on it? Was Ahmet Mephistopheles? Or wait, maybe the enigmatic John Paul Jones who is expert in all instruments (just like Satan) is the Devil incarnate? Think of it, before JPJ REM were just a college band. Before JPJ Diamanda Galas was just some Greek superfreak. Before JPJ Seasick Steve was just some old boozehound playing his makeshift guitar to satiate his Night Train addiction.

Coincidence???? Hmmm, maybe not! JPJ IS the puppetmaster, the piper calling the tune!

  4. I always believed the CIA killed Kennedy for obvious reasons, after all he was going to virtually eliminate the agency due to it's penchant for making policy instead of following orders. However if the clown killed Kennedy I highly doubt it was an "accident."

Robert Kennedy I also think was assassinated through a conspiracy, there were way too many bullet holes in that kitchen vs. what was fired from Sirhan's gun.

I always thought Killer Queen was about Madame Nhu...that bitch really was a killer queen! Though to be honest she was smokin hot!

  5. Thanks Strider, this is great news indeed as I have been a huge Mazzy Star fan since the 90's. I always like the tune Blue Light as well but they never put out a stinker. Too bad I live in Phoenix, I guess the group has too much class and intelligence to play this shithole (Phoenix). Oh well, maybe next time.

  6. ACDC is always in 4/4 time, never changes, all songs. Riffing is basic, goes for the jugular though there are exceptions such as Night Prowler, Big Balls, and The Jack.

For what it's worth I think Brian Johnson was the worse thing to happen to ACDC. Bonn Scott added more dimension and variety, once Johnson came in it was the same thing over and over again. I also believe Night Prowler was their best tune hands down!

Zeppelin worked in various time signatures, frequently within the same song. Page utilized riffing, arpeggios, alternate picking & tunings & chords, and structures. I like to think Zeppelin was somewhat akin to prog rock minus the pomposity and bullshit. If you ever listen to TSRTS and Yessongs back to back you can hear the similarities in structures and textures with Dazed & No Quarter vs. Siberian Khatru & Roundabout. Not that the songs sound similar in any way, just talking about the textures, time signature, and progressions. The difference being Zeppelin took a free form almost jazz like approach whereas Yes anchored their music in classical and a strict structure.

So, I like both Zeppelin & ACDC, just for different reasons. You wanna party??? ACDC all the way with The Ocean and Hot Dog thrown in for good measure. You want anything else; mood, driving, chilling at the beach, working, working out with the wife (get it???) go for Zeppelin!!!

  7. Eric will steal the show.

The only way Clapton would steal the show is through a contractual clause! I too saw him a couple of times, once in Chicago and once in LA and he was just flat, nothing! Maybe he was more passionate back in the day but when I first saw him in 1990 (I think it was 90') in Chicago I almost fell asleep. When I saw the televised Cream reunion from 2006 or whatever I got the same impression, the whole band was flat IMO. I think he is a good guitarist but unlike Jeff Beck he just does not have the passion, and unlike Page he NEVER takes a chance. If there is one quality I believe Page has above most guitarists is his ability to just go for it, take a chance shit or bust. Sure, sometimes it was shit but frequently it was brilliant. I just have no respect for musicians not willing to risk it all.

I sure hope Page shows up, he can play Black Mountain Side as a tribute to Bert!!!

  8. how was i being judgemental? i was just saying that it had no meaning for us.....

Awww, c'mon Slave, I was just joking with ya. If you like I can send you a Bloomin Onion, whaddya say? G'day mate :friends:

  9. it has no meaning what so ever to us ( i don't even know the origins ! ).

of course our retail shops are selling the stuff, trying with all their might to get us to waste our money on it......

Hey now, don't get all judgemental on us Americans, it's not like we appropriated and bastardized some ancient pagan rite of harvest simply for profit :poke:

  10. So it's my 10th Halloween at my current job, and of course I never fail to come to work appropriately.

When you shave your head, head wounds are mandatory, and I do some variation every year.

This year, I still had some leftover decals from last year to get it started.

But then I went to the Halloween store last night and got this stuff called Creepy Skin, and it's perfect!

It's kind of an oily, waxy mixture with some fiber (cotton?) mixed in to give it some more consistency.

You just mold it however you want to create ridges, bumps, flaps, etc. as needed.

It adds just the right touch of depth and realism necessary to any good head wound!

Finish it out with fake blood accents, and you're ready for the Emergency Room!

And yes, the one over my left ear has a somewhat vaginal appearance, but I'm still satisfied with the overall results.

So, post some pics of your Halloween transformation!

Hoy shit man, does Obamacare cover that :hysterical:

  11. This is just my comment and opinion but I think the Texans (of which I am One) would not like it just because there is the lyric, "I'm never going to Texas anymore". I realize this is just a lyric and a tongue-in-cheek lyric from Robert.

I have read or heard somewhere that Dallas, Texas is one of Robert's favorite American cities.

Well, god forbid those Texans get their panties in a whirl, they may threaten to secede or something.

I figure anyone who gets upset by song lyrics (unless they are blatantly racist or misogynistic) is an idiot and a douche. People need to get over themselves.

I like Hot Dog, I think it is an awesome song. Before I became a vegan I loved hot dogs too!

  12. I have a wicked sense of humor and love a good laugh probably more than the average person!

But there is a radical difference between clever humor and some of the stuff Makowski or whoever has been putting up since was supposed to have taken control of the site; much of which seems like filler or a silly thrown-together afterthought.

Look at other sites of those who would be of Jimmy's stature. (I can't link because I am on my phone)

    Paul McCartney

    Eric Clapton

    David Gilmour

    Roger Waters

    Pete Townshend

    B B King

    Paul Rodgers

    Jeff Beck

    Keith Richards

    Mick Jagger

All of the above have a dignity and class to them befitting their musical legacy..

When Jimmy first debuted his site the aesthetics of it were extremely appealing and dignified.

All i am saying is, I think most of his fans would like to see his web presence reflect the man and not be allowed to descend into camp for the sake of just putting something up for filler!

The fact is this is Jimmy's site, he can do whatever the hell he wants. If he wants to put up shaved spider monkeys with a Devo soundtrack that is his prerogative. Please pardon me but I really don't get it, I guess I believe way too much in artistic license and personal freedom but Jimmy owes us NOTHING!!!!

I don't know about anyone else but if I were a world famous musician I can guarantee I would shut my website down after one fucking day. Once I realized no matter what I did would be good enough that would be it, game over. So sorry to disappoint the fans but hey, it's my life and if you don't like how I do things, well, there is the door.

Sorry if I come off as curt, but as far as I a concerned, after all Jimmy has contributed over the years, everything else is simply sauce for the goose.

    Thank you JIMMY!!!

  13. Ofc, thats what LIVE music is all about. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone messes up, only that good musicians mess less and when they do, they handle it with grace!!! There is nothing wront with talking about it. There is a lot of musicians and we are curious about every such a thing... what they did, how they handled etc and want to discuss it. Its no bashing, its pure discusion. There is no big deal about it.

Oh I understand, I am a musician myself, I just can't see the minor mistake in D&C being considered a "train wreck." A bit much on the hyperbole IMO.

  14. Two entirely different albums. You can't compare the two. I love bands that don't sound the same from beginning til end - like Zep or the Beatles. It gets old when you do the same type of shit for how long you've been at it.

Yeah, like fucking AC DC!!!! Same old shitty albums, year after year. God forbid Brian Johnson quits singing in that crappy falsetto or Angus learns a different riff.

  15. Stupid comment all around, and to even bring up AC DC??? I like their stuff with Bon Scott but Brian Johnson sucks and every album since Those About to Rock sound exactly the same.

Zep I - Just coming together and getting their footing

ITTOD - A mature band trying new sounds and exploring new directions.

  16. I like Elton quite a bit myself, my first single I bought was Bennie & the Jets in 1974...when I was 6! Yep, me and a friend in first grade walked into a record shop with our allowance money, I bought Elton John & he bought I have no idea.

I would love to see Elton perform three of my favorites:

Madman Across the Water, Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters, & I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford).

  17. When you're young, you look at television and think, there's a conspiracy. The networks have conspired to dumb us down. But when you get a little older, you realize that's not true. The networks are in business to give people exactly what they want.

    Steve Jobs

Sounds exactly like something Steve Jobs would say, he is the leader of the global conspiracy after all!!! Everyone knows he is not really dead right? :beat:

  18. OMG that just sounds so hillarious. First of all the wing dug into the ground and sheared off, and the other wing broke apart as in struck the building. The Pentagon was built to withstand a blast with thick window glass and all. For your theory to work it would mean that thousands of people were in on the conspiracy and never talked about it. What a joke! LOL

If one of the wings impacted the building, why no damage from that wing? Where are the engines? Where is the luggage, dead people, video from one of over twenty different cameras pointed at the very location? Finally, it was proven there is no way a 767 could have made a hole that small and that deep into the Pentagon.

  19. No on seems to dispute Lincolns shooting.

What I mean is people do get shot, with Kennedy ,when I was younger everyone would mention where they were when they heard the news, now it seems more about theories.

I think there are huge differences here to consider. Since Booth was actually seen shooting Lincoln there was no dispute what happened. Then, the conspiracy itself between Booth & has compatriots was easily discovered, Booth killed, and the conspirators rounded up, tried, and hanged in public. It don't get anymore cut and dried then that!

No one saw Oswald shoot anybody. He supposedly made three shots in under six seconds, two of which were perfectly on mark, with a POS mail order Italian crap rifle with an unadjusted scope; a possibly magic bullet which was responsible, or not for three woulds; an autopsy which was completely covered up and ALL of the evidence missing or destroyed except for the pristine magic bullet itself; Jack Ruby coming out of nowhere and assassinating Oswald in front of a whole police department in a supposedly secure building.

Way, way too much going on there for coincidence. The mathematical probability is most likely in the billions to one. Occam's Razor Baby!

  20. I don't think Oswald was the lone shooter, I believe there were at least two others and the final head shot, shown in the Zapruder film, came from the front and right of Kennedy, impossible for that shot to have come from the front. Also, if there were only one shooter and the shot came from behind why was the Kennedy autopsy falsified? Why was all the evidence destroyed?

That History Channel story was pure BS, I saw that and their "theory" on how the magic bullet was not magic was crazier than believing in the magic bullet theory to begin with. Fist off there was no way they could know the exact position of Kennedy and Connoly in the car, they simply lined up the dummies they way THEY wanted them to be in the car and say that is how they were in the car. Thats called making the evidence fit the crime and that dog don't hunt.

Who did it? I don't know, all I know is that from the evidence Oswald did not act alone, evidence was destroyed intentionally, and a cover up was in place.

I agree with Salve to Zep, I think there are some fishy shit with 911. I don't think the government had anything to do with it per se except for the Pentagon thing, that "attack" is pretty much proven NOT to have been a plane. I live out by Luke AFB and when an F-16 crashes into the ground at Mach 2 on occasion, there is always debris and the major engine parts are fully intact. Where did those pesky 767 engines go? How did a 767 fit into a 15' round hole? Where was all the luggage and body parts? Most importantly, where were the countless video tapes? How come the FBI confiscated all the tapes from surrounding businesses???
