  1. Wonderful news slave! :)

I'm happy about so much I don't know where to start! My Ancestry DNA kit and the remasters arrived! :D My bathroom will be ready for the gorgeous new tiles we picked out hopefully by the end of today and then we can put in the new vanities, toilet, light fixtures, etc. Then it's on to the new floors throughout the house. The bamboo flooring should be delivered today. :hurrah: My house will be a wreck for a little while but it will be worth it once everything is done. We're very excited, it's going to look so good. I'll be sure to post some pictures! After a few months of searching, we may have finally found the perfect boat to buy and vacation in Rhode Island is now only days away!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

  2. Although I'm personally atheist, if you believe in God, and it helps you be the person you are and it doesn't harm you or your neighbors, have at it. Prefer happy people instead of angry people.

Well said Charles, I agree 100% and feel the same way.

  3. Some Friday yummies :D

When I was in high school, the kids would always say that my hair looked like Jimmy's, like in these pictures (still does actually!) and I thought that was just about the best compliment ever! Love Jimmy!

  5. I also like his attitude of "speak your mind " .... too much of others squashing peoples points of view on here .... opinions wont always be the same..... my advice would actually be the opposite of Zepdawgs - I'd say get as far away from churches as possible! :)

I heard about that giant planet discovery - very cool! :)

I couldn't agree more with that advice!

  6. At the wedding reception, the D.J. yelled...

“Would all married men please stand next to the

one person who has made your life worth living?”

The bartender was almost crushed to death,

    but is expected to survive.

    :hysterical:

  7. Growing lots of cool stuff.

Concentrating on several varities of tomatoes I started from seed. Also peppers, pole beans, cukes, okra, Swiss chard, eggplant and more.

Picked the last of my brocolli and my spinach is bolting.

    I should post some pics.

Might have to start a garden thread....

I'd love to see pictures of your garden! I just got 2 bush Goliath tomato plants and then a few strawberry plants, some basil, cilantro and spearmint. I'll be honest, I've not had much luck with gardens before but I'm not giving up! :P So all advice and recommendations welcomed! I want to add more vegetables but I'll see how I do with these tomato plants first.

  8. Sitting here waiting for Mrs. Walter to begin her final "bad" chemo treatment. She will still receive experimental doses until February of next year (and 30 radiation treatments this summer), but those side effects are nothing compared to what this chemo poses. She is A CHAMP! :yesnod:

Hope Mrs. Walter is okay. Sending you both good vibes! :)

  9. Just heard about Maya Angelou's passing also. The breaking news email I received said "the writer's voice was born from a childhood tragedy that stunned her into silence for almost a decade. When she was 7, her mother's boyfriend raped her. He was later beaten to death by a mob after she testified against him. "My 7-and-a-half-year-old logic deduced that my voice had killed him, so I stopped speaking for almost six years," she said."

    Rest in peace Dr. Angelou
