  1. They're calling it New Multitudes, it's surely on my list of CDs to get this year.
  2. "She's a rainbow" ~ The Rolling Stones + John Paul Jones
  3. Hi Deborah, just to add that this event marked the first appearance of Led Zeppelin in Los Angeles, and they were accompanied by Alice Cooper. This is from an Alice Cooper fansite: They were billed as: "Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper - featuring: Jimmy Page, formerly of The Yardbirds"
  4. A non-Zeppelin album produced by Peter Grant: Stone The Crows, January 1st 1970
  5. A Pink Floyd spokesman has denied that the band will play reunion show at the Olympics. "This is all simply not true," said a spokesman of the band to Outside The Wall. "Roger Waters Tour is in full swing this summer with more shows expected to be released for August in North America, and David Gilmour is working on a new album to possibly be toured in late 2012-2013. These sorts of rumors are spread about like mad every few months and it really disrupts the band members focus on there current projects." http://www.pr.com/press-release/380977
  6. The idea is to create a repertory of albums featuring Led Zeppelin personnel. This one is from 1992, by the American band R.E.M. The songs "Drive", "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite", "Everybody Hurts", and "Nightswimming" feature string arrangements by John Paul Jones. Considered by many the best R.E.M. album it went on to sell over 16 million units.
  7. Jason Bonham has told British journal The Sun that there´s a slim chance of Zeppelin playing at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games. "I haven't spoken to Robert (Plant) for about six months but he is really enjoying himself. "For me you can never say never. If you ask me today is it gonna happen immediately, well no, there is no talk of it. But if you said to me in 2007 I would play with Led Zeppelin in December that year I would say you're nuts, so you never know." 8. I'm still looking for an audio feed of the conversation, still without success, I was hoping someone else might have caught the actual interview on VH1? As for the Crooked Vultures I did omit the part where she mentions the new album, my apologies, although there's been speculation about this projects since quite some time now.
  9. I wasn't aware of this application, I'll take a look at it, return with comments, thanks for posting this.
  10. "Bassist John Paul Jones, who turns 66 in a few weeks, spoke to VH1 Radio about what could've been had John Bonham not died in 1980. JPJ said, "We were optimistic. I knew it would have been interesting. It would've been musically interesting and it would've been nice to see us happy again. We were getting happy again. There were a few dark moments at the end of the '70s`" - Amy Sciarretto (artistdirect.com) see: http://www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-news/article/john-paul-jones-speaks-about-what-could-have-been-with-led-zeppelin/9832957
  11. I used to have a beautiful red Siberian Husky which I bought in 1996, just like this. I used to take long runs with this dog, they actually thrive in wild environments and enjoy the very long distances. Then in 2004 someone who was living at my house at the time left the door wide open. The dog left never to be seen again.
  12. This actually happened to me in 2002. I was supposed to meet a woman in Manhattan on the corner of 6th Avenue and 4th Street (or something) turns out I waited for 40 minutes on the corner of 4th Avenue and 6th Street. Never have I seen that woman again, actually we live on separate continents, but that day we both were in New York.
  13. My first contribution to this thread may seem trivial, as I used to participate in a very large software convention in New Orleans, this took place on a yearly basis starting in 1998. The event was so huge that hotels in Downtown New Orleans were completely booked, hordes of visitors from all over the world strolling around the Aquarium, Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. The first time I visited I was fascinated: the place seemed very European, like no other American City, I used to spend hours around Jackson Square, and there was a large coffee shop where the specialty was some pastry
  14. Although The Edge is 50 in that video he looked like a kid. Incredible that it's been two years already since the event.
  15. I'll keep that in mind. The point is that on a given date there are several events from which to choose and the editorial team make their choice. Like a couple of days ago, when Jimmy Page had received the Order of the British Empire for his work in Brazil, Jimmy Page on This Day announced something else but overlooked the OBE ceremony.
  16. Historian, thank you, I think this song, and the album in general, created an exquisite blend of American and English folk music. More on the series, here's Kelsey Grammer discussing Robert Plant, reportedly the two are very close friends: “We sat down after one of his shows and I started saying I’m doing this new show Robert and I’d love to use something from his latest album, you know, the “Band of Joy” album, that he put that together. I mean, it’s just terrific and I just think – and he looked at me and said well, you know, how about taking Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down? And I wa
  17. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth: "I always sort of modeled myself as part Jimmy Page, part Robert Plant. I'm not saying I ever close to those guys' levels, but I tried [laughter]". http://www.noisecree...ine-guitar-app/
  18. Jimmy Page on this day, source is the website of the Aleister Crowley Society: Further below this page: http://www.lashtal.c...Article77.phtml
  19. There's a new TV show with Kelsey Grammer (you might remember him as doctor Frasier Crane) it's called "The Boss".

"The series follows Tom Kane, the mayor of Chicago, who has recently been diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder. Determined to remain in charge, Kane conceals the disease from everyone around him except his own physician" (imdb.com)

The reason I'm mentioning this, is because a song by Robert Plant and the Band of Joy is being used as the main theme song of the Series. "Satan, your Kingdom must Come Down"

It's track #11 from the 2010 album by the Ba
  20. I believe the 1937 photograph is already is the public domain? At least it's part of wikipedia commons, credited to Gus Pasquerella,
  21. Artist George Hardie recently paid a visit to a private school in Portugal, the Escola Superior de Artes e Design. He was there for some talks with students, this took place a few days ago on the 14th of December. Today, an interview with Hardie appears on the Publico newspaper. There is a question journalist Ines Barreto de Faria asks, it's about his cover of Led Zeppelin's 1969 self titled album. With some help from online translation tools I transcribe Hardie's words here, for the complete article I'm also providing the link to Publico's site. Q: But your first serious job was t
