Hi DropDown - I'm good thanks ! - you? You just have to hope that in a world of obnoxious lawyers who overplay their hand, there might be judges ready to slap them down for it. And there's every reason to believe that Zep's lawyers will also be ready to slap them down too. Yes I think Jonesy DOES live out in the country, though also I thought possibly has a place in nearby Acton ... but that would certainly not have the same postcode so that's just one inaccuracy on their deposition. Not being a US lawyer, it's interesting that the document is drawn up to emphasise their US links wherever possible, using US business addresses, citing Robert's primary address in Texas and also citing Jonesy and Jimmy as also living at times in the US. Those claims and others are hedged with "on information and belief" : in other words, they don't know much of it for sure, and in the rush to cobble this stuff together they're just making assertions. Would love to know if someone on this thread is an expert in music copyright case law. Someone has already said you can't copyright a chord progression. With the publication of that document we are already into the technicalities ! Need expert commentary ! Can anyone in the US help on this guy's request for a jury? The whole exercise is so motivated by cynicism and publicity seeking, and I wonder if the jury request is part of that? Would it lead to more publicity in covering the hearing? Would it be mean it could be televised? I'd imagine that a jury would not be helpful: they would surely be more susceptible to this idiot's theatrics and less able to handle complex copyright arguments... But there is every reason to think that Zep's lawyers have it all in hand and will wipe the floor with this whole case. Bring it on. The whole suit - and the use of that font - is absolutely shameless; in some legal jurisdictions perhaps the use of that kind of cheap but flamboyant provocation might backfire. Wishful thinking perhaps. (On a more cheerful note - who knew that Jimmy and JPJ shared the same postcode ? What an opportunity for collaboration ! And I'd heard it was Robbie Williams moving in next door to JP.... )

No question that Jimmy's lawyers will put together every legal argument in the book, draw heavily on precedent in music copyright, and probably wipe the floor with their opponents. I'm no lawyer myself, but this case looks totally flimsy. But they'll be lucky if they can do that job quickly - and unless they can it must mean a serious risk of delaying the fourth album release. It's an appallingly cynical stunt. It has to be hoped that enough early pressure can be put on them, and very soon, to convince them to withdraw.

PlanetPage, I do think Scarlet is a gifted and sensitive photographer, and that her photos of Jimmy maintain his cool while revealing a very human and natural aspect. Plus her lighting absolutely rocks .

Thanks, Slave to Zep, for posting that beautiful photo. In a world where I could justify the cost, I would so buy the charity £600 version of that in a flash, and actually well ahead of the five photos on the JP website. I love its authenticity, and I love Scarlet's beautiful lighting and her choice of a richly coloured backdrop to a (relatively) monochrome JP.

He may of course have been thinking in these terms about his work. But as for statistics, genetic factors play a strong part in life expectancy, and I believe his mother is still alive at the age of around 90 . Plus, he's tested his physical health to the limit over the years, and has obviously come through it with a lot of strength and energy left over. I hope he has many contented years ahead ( or ambitious ones, if he so chooses!) .

I admit that if the men you've listed were all in my personal acquaintance, things might look very different!! And some of the other less well-known UK men are also rather lovely. That does just leave the rest of them ....

Very well put, Sagittarius Rising .. I'm sure you're right, and it underlines the sense of fatefulness there's always been in the story of how Zep came together. Just occasionally, it seems the universe knows what it's doing and all comes out right.... I do absolutely love Terry Reid's singing .. Page always mentions his album The River, which is pretty awesome, but the one which stands out for me is the one mentioned above by others, Seed of Memory. Very powerful stuff.

Aen, I've just picked on your quote only as an example of the speculation on these pages about that video . Maybe someone here has got the speculation right, but it seems that none of us was there and so we don't know for sure. So here's my own speculation. I think it was an Italian TV set-up, by the pink haired DJ and his production team. That's pretty clear from the way the camera dwells on her, she's been given gifts to distribute, she's the centrepiece of his filming and he's making sure she meets Plant and Page (while informing them that at least one more girl is waiting outside). He even interviews her at one point. Why would he? Because the way Italian TV uses sex and women to make almost all programmes is notorious. ( Most of the Italian media is owned by or has business links to Silvio Berlusconi, who has his own issues over sexual behaviour). Hell, you can barely even make a news programme without using women and sex in a way that would be inconceivable in the States, Western Europe and most other countries you can think of. So how would you dream of making an Italian music doc about those two without ensuring some kind of backstage groupie action? Want to be sure of getting results? Bring your own girl, supply her with gifts, and make sure you keep her in shot. Of course you need Jimmy and Robert to do what comes naturally - but there you're on pretty safe ground. Thankyou, Texas Melanie, for so clearly expressing the intent of my original post. As you say, it was intended as a compliment to Jimmy, and a rather commonplace kind of joke. However, humour only really works when its meaning is crystal clear - and for some reason this comment wasn't clearly understood by everyone. Having distracted from the main topic of this thread, the least I can offer is a hot pic of Jimmy. This one appears in his book and is captioned: " Shot in Pangbourne churchyard, with allusions to Oscar Wilde" I have no idea whether Jimmy has read The Picture of Dorian Grey ; if he has, I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did. For my part, I had better leave allusions to Oscar Wilde to Mr Page.

Where I come from, if you know the story of Dorian Gray, you might well tell a youthful looking person, by way of a compliment, that they must have a picture in their attic. Of course you could equally be accusing them of extreme moral corruption and irredeemable degradation. But chances are, you are not.

Ageing well, and even developing a youthfulness in age, is often associated with Capricorn. Plus of course there's that picture in the Tower House attic !

I think it's just much more staged than the casual pose suggests. Look at the way the light is angled on his face... the deep shadows around his jacket sleeves, the flash of strong light on the boat's windscreen. It's quite a statement photo, apparently taken at night. For most boating people, such a photo would be in daylight. When he lived on the river ( and evidently in those days worked very hard too ) did he mostly experience that by night? I think very likely so ...

I don't think I'm the only member of this forum to have seen that performance live. Absolutely unforgettable .. and bittersweet that it was SO good, and obviously so rare a moment these days.

Ok ... all this dental talk has been an occasional twinge for me over the last few days, but I admit that it's nagging away at me and it's time to get to the root (canal) of the problem .. I realise now that whatever attention I have ever paid to a person's eyes. profile, hair or other features, I have plainly had a blind spot in dentistry terms. I can of course recognise that Jimmy's teeth are whiter and brighter than they were in the 80s - but all the precise observations about overbite/underbite, denture behaviour and jawline action have left my own jaw dropping in incomprehension. If anyone wants to elucidate and to offer me a bit of dental education, I'm afraid I might need photographs and examples. Though , from what you all seem to be saying, the thread topic "hot pics of Jimmy" would appear to be wholly inappropriate.
