  1. yes, fainted right in front of us during the encore - hopefully no lasting damage whoever it was. must admit, the Spencer Davis numbers were my own highlights
  2. just got back from seeing Steve Winwood at the Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton. Excellent performances from him and each member of the band - SW has still got the lot, no question. Great time had by all, including ledded1, on his birthday. (Many happy returns once again, and thanks for the lift). Nite all
  3. QSM a very decent performance last night at The Robin club, but there's no peace for the wicked, so tonight it's the turn of Andy Fairweather Low - I'm just off to see that, see you all later.
  4. Quicksilver Messenger Service ..... who play their first ever UK gig this Wednesday 27th, at The Robin 2, Bilston. Welcome to the UK guys - although David Freiberg was here at this venue just a few weeks back with JeffersonStarship.
  5. yes, they have been good friends for a very long time. Many thanks FC, great night.
  6. just got back from it - it was ..... FAIRPORT CONVENTION at Kinver KCA. (go to www.wolverley.org) Outstanding performance - including a superb double violin attack. ......... AND, must just give a mention to their special guest for the evening - yes it was Mr. Robert Plant doing a few songs including Battle Of Evermore. anyway, it's 1:32 am here, and I'm off to bed, night all
  7. there's probably a million things we'd all rush into without thinking through the consequences and knock-on effects, but ..........1980 - grab hold of a doctor, grab hold of a taxi, and pull Bonzo back from the brink.
  8. Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel at the Robin tonight, have a good day, see you all later.
  9. I have a Tasko Starbright - wasted at the moment I'm afraid, as it's packed away, and will be set up again when I buy the new place later on this year.
  10. must admit, the only 2 songs I remember are 'On The Road Again' and 'Let's Work Together', but they are just superb, and I never tire of listening to those
  11. good stuff I'll be going to see Paul Jones (and the Blues Band) on December 19th, and Mike D'abo in March (both times at the Robin Club as usual, no surprise there)
  12. I'm going to see Starship at the Robin on July 30th. I believe Grace retired in 1989 - it's Cathy Richardson in the chair now.
  13. Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel - July 17th, Robin 2 club Bilston
  14. on so many levels, the best post of this thread, surely
  15. The Searchers, at The Robin 2 club on Wednesday 25th.
  16. spot on My next visit is on the 25th for the Searchers - just how old is John McNally, BTW ? Living proof that you're NEVER too old
  17. The Roy Wood rock 'n roll band, on Friday. Good-time rock at its finest. A nine-piece band, including a bank of four sax players in traditional Roy Wood style. Great old favourites from The Move and Wizzard predominating, of course. Roy can still do it like he always could, including the bagpipe solo, and you won't catch him sipping bottled water between songs either - it's bottled LAGER for him ! What a guy - still a good few miles in the tank as well, no worries !
  18. The Roy Wood Rock 'N Roll Band (Friday June 13, at the Robin 2 club, Bilston)

  20. well , when you can no longer hide your age, don't waste your time tryin' - and I'm not sure who THIS Alice was ..... I just don't think it was Alice Cooper though
  21. SMOKIE - at the Robin 2, Bilston on Thursday 24th April ............... ..... " If you think you know how to love me " ........ " Don't play your rock 'n roll to me " .......... ......" Somethings been making me blue " ....... " I'll meet you at midnight " ........... ..... " Living next door to Alice " ............. " Lay back in the arms of someone " ......... ....... " It's your life " .......... I know, I know, you've never heard of 'em , before your time, etc etc.
