  1. there is some great bits on it. such as page's melodic and delicate guitar parts on some of the tracks . aside from blue train the vocals were recorded/mixed too thin

and dry. blue train is almost too wet. the guitar parts are nice but production wise

they could have been better. and it's hard to hear what the bass player is doing.

overall it sounds like they were rushed and had only 8 hours of studio time to work with.

it almost sounds like a demo. it's cold and solid state sounding (despite the fact that albini

prides himself on using tape and analogue equipment) i still really like the cd. a lot.

  2. the house next to me has had 3 or four different tenants. the last family that lived there let their kids play with firearms. bullets would graze by here . the people that live there now let their doberman run loose despite the fact that it caused a fatal car accident and serious injuries to another passenger. the guy bled to death on my lawn, it was horrendous. we've called animal control twice the familly of the deceased called as well. animal controll never showed up. the dog still runs loose.

  3. Wow, that's real? Looks like someone's painted a beard on your face and then used a fork to form the spike pattern.

the camera "has problems". maybe i broke it.

i was fiddling with it and dropped it before i handed it to someone to take picture of me with.

  4. what were we told as kids when we thought a monster was under our bed or in our closet or when we talked of an imaginary friend? "you're being foolish" what were we told as kids when adults did not want us venturing into places? "there's a monster in there, it will get you". the loch ness monster and other fabled creatures may have originated in that manner. the water is like 900 feet deep. so it is hard for us as adults to believe in anything we can't fit into a styrofoam box and eat. the lies make us believe the biggest lie of all. that there is absolute truth.

  5. i'd post better images but these are the only two i have in a web ready format

i act in local plays, this is me in one of those as the lovable beetlejuice:

    Image5.jpg

this is the "out of character" me (if there is a such thing). the pic is a bit blurry and deceptive

as it looks as though my hair was copied and pasted onto my neck. no.

  6. unless i'm mistaken eddie wasn't two hand tapping until late '77 or so. he got the idea from ace frehley. ace used to tap with his left hand fingers and right hand with his pick. ace in turn was inspired by jimmy's heartbreaker.

as far as comparing the two. eddie is a lamborghini jimmy is a saturn v rocket...

  7. i think it started with the hit " still of the night" most of the riffs are original but delivered in a whole lotta love fashion it even cops bonham's cymbal hits and david delivered his vocals in a plant manner (or he tried anyways). then you turn mtv on and you see he's taken your look as well. i'm sure robert must have had a gut reaction that coverdale was stalking him, possibly collecting his loose hair from combs and skin bits from his bathtub to make a mask to dance around in a moon lit farmhouse. next thing you know he has your former band mate under his evil spell. you wonder what will become of you in the end. what's next? your girlfriends? your bank account? will you wake up to look in the mirror and start singing "burn"?.

joking aside, robert probablly didn't feel hate towards him or even threatened in the least bit.

disappointment and disgust might be more fitting words words.it was a matter of him seeing something done in bad taste. his comments towards him were jabs to let him know "i see you, you're not getting by with this. i'm calling you out". that's my take on it.

  8. long story made short i started calling myself zero before i surfed web forums. my name is a deep part of me. where and how it began? i had been living as a reclusive for some years. blah blah blah , the worms were finally nearing the inner core of my brain, and surrounding my life, i forgot how old i was , my sex,my address i almost forgot everything except music. i went a little over the edge. eventually i cried out to whatever would listen and "zero"it just popped in my head one night, i took it as a sarcastic thought but as i pondered i began to believe it was placed there maybe as an epiphany maybe as a guiding light. at the time and summed up the way i felt in a positive way and negative way both. i also liked the idea of the numeral 0 being pure. emptiness disguises limitless infinity of opportunity. it's between infinity and reverse infinity. anyways i no longer smoke grade A pot , cover mirrors at night, and finally got my driver's permit again recently. here i am. yes too serious a reply to the topic. but that's the strait answer to it.

  9. i'm a fan. she had just as much talent as soul. the opposite is true of those whos names

i wont mention with hers. i like summertime, ball and chain, move over, all is loneliness

    and others..

Did you know that Dick Cavett was apparently infautated with Janis and actually asked her out...and they did go out at least once, I believe...

no. too bad he didn't care for her instead. i do recall him saying something to the effect that he knew she was heading towards that day, and she was in a mess, and was in need but he couldn't say the words i care.
