  1. Copenhagen warm-ups, 2nd night, July 24, 1979. Man, what a show. Too bad they didn't multi-track this like they did Knebworth a couple of weeks later. The first Knebworth show is good, but this one kiils it.
  2. I agree with you. The Howlin' Wolf riff is what Zep used for live versions of The Killing Floor (Lemon Song). It doesn't sound lihe the inspiration for Black Dog to me. The Muddy Waters riff sounds closer.
  3. Given the month and year it is, I've been listening to the fantastic June 3, 1973 show at The Forum. Arguably the best U.S. show of 1973.
  4. I agree Steve - that's definitely not Plant's voice singing the extra "little sister" after the end of the song. It's one of the members of Rockpile, who are on backing vocals at the end of the song. And thanks for posting that video - I had this song as a teenager and the clip brought back great memories. Interesting - according to Wikipedia, the Concert for Kampuchea has never been released on CD.
  5. Thanks for posting these interviews - great stuff, really entertaining and enlightening.
  6. The AUDIO from Heartbreaker is incomplete, because the recording tape ran out in the middle of the song (a shame, since the approx. 3-1/2 minutes that does exist, is amazing). As for the VIDEO (or, I should say film), that's another story. They used multiple cameras, and AFAIK at least one camera angle exists for nearly every moment of the whole show, including Heartbreaker.
  7. That "Rip It Up" bit is just so fantastic. Really love it - esp. since it'd be the last-ever IMTOD (well, until 2007 anyway).
  8. Cap Centre, Md, May 30 1977, new soundboard source.
  9. In My Time of Dying from Celebration Day. Best performance from that show IMHO.
  10. One of my top 2 or 3 favorite performances of this song. This is one of the few songs I prefer in its '77 incarnation compared to its '75 incarnation. I'd say the '75 performances were more consistent, especially Jimmy. But Plant's voice - and confidence - are so much better in '77. So as long as Jimmy is having a decent night, the '77 version is tops IMHO.
  11. Berkeley, 9-14-71, of course! Fantastic show, and maybe the best-sounding audience tape from 1971.
  12. Fantastic show, and agree with your "wishes" 100%. Small consolation: Celebration Day from four days later (Sep 4 Toronto) is available in SB quality, and it's a hot performance too.
  13. Oh crap, my bad - sorry! I got confused; JPJ indeed did the co-lead vocal; Jimmy just did backing on that track.
  14. And don't forget his taking Sandy Denny's vocal role in the live '77 versions of Battle of Evermore. Yikes!
  15. There are five known sources, and they vary widely in quality. Winston's "The Great Love Affair" primarily uses Source 5, and IMHO it's the best version of this show to get. But opinions are all over the map. Most vinyl versions use Source 1 and/or 2, which arguably don't sound as good as 5. Source 1 is mono. Source 2, like Source 5, is stereo. If the vinyl package says TMOQ or Trademark of Quality or Blimp on it, it's likely Source 1. If it says Rubber Dubber anywhere, it's likely Source 2.
