  1. Bilbo & Nine...I'm doing really good thanks.

Jasper had his haircut today! He's a very 'baldy' puppy!!! Probably freezing, 'cos it's a very, very cold UK over here tonight. Very settled in my new house thank you. Bets move I ever made. Blissfully peaceful!!

A beautiful home it is Pilot ! I saw some pics on the old board, I'm sure it's all come together ! We got a bit of sun today, but looks like we're in for another down pour tonight through the weekend. Last night we had some heavy rain and wind...funny how some folks think California is all sun and beaches, very different up north ! Keep that pup warm Pilot !
  2. Ah, regulars...my kind a people. Welcome Bilbo my friend...a NBA for you it is. Nine. How nice to see you. A very large glass of Shiraz for you. Go steady on the pedaling...no tour in sight.

Great to see you both. Hope all is well with you in the world today

Good Brother, very well, Thank you for asking..everything going well for you ? 9 ! I can't believe you're out in that weather !
  3. Mine is multi layered, the most obivious one is a tip of the hat to my favorite book by J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Hobbit" and the lead character ,with whom I have a lot in common . Second, "Bilbo" is a loving nickname the Basques have given to "Bilbao" , capital city the province of Bizkaia \ Vizcaya, and the birth place of my mother and her family. (There's also a nickname in Euskara \ Basque for Bilbao.."el boxto " which translates into "the hole" another hobbity type reference.) The second part, "The Rover" is a reference to one of my favorite Zeppelin songs as well as a reference to myself being a bit of a traveler. And there it is......

  4. Pilot in the pub!

Just got back from three days in Worcester on business....drank far too much...hic!

So, a glass of coke for me tonight

Hi Pilot ! you've already 'partaken" in some sprits eh ? A coke for you it is ! I'll have my usual bartender !

  5.

    :P

I actually have never read Beowulf from start to finish without giving in to the Cliff notes. :bagoverhead:

Very interesting history around that one, and the tale's also quite exciting.

    Everytime I hear "Cliff Notes" I think of " Cliff Richard ! " ( I know, I'm a dork)
  6. I hope it's when I 'm over there! :D

What made me happy today was getting my spare room ready for a guest.

I'm such a fucking housewife today.

    Better do something about it.

    B)

That would make Ev and I VERY Happy Knebby ! I'm saving a couple of bottles of wine just for you !
  7. Hey thanks mate! As you probably know I dragged it kicking and screaming from the old site, where I have to confess the inspiration for the title came from a great Q magazine article of many years ago about the prolific and star-studded career of the wonderful Ray Cooper, entitled "Who's that bloke with Ray?". One day I'll find and post said article, it's a beauty. :)
It's good to see it over here, I'm really enjoying it...I wish I had something to contribute !
  8. Ridiculous how a thread can go on and on , so what if Robert said that ? the man is entitled to his opinion. Seems that all we do is sit around here and spout our opinions ( myself included). The Sun is a rag, don't believe everything you read, again , if he said it...who cares ! This isn't a Radiohead site !

  9. Hullo All ! I wish I could stay ! Would you all be so kind as to set a Newcastle at the bar and act as if I'm here with you ? My wife put an awful thumpin' on me for dragging my ass home so late last night and I'm commited to take her out to a nice , civil dinner. Pilot, Richard....she wants to speak with you.....er...both....RUN MATES ! RUN !

  10. Yeah...good idea. A cup of tea sounds great thank you. I ain't married so I will have to take a frying pan to my own head. Wouldn't be the first time?

Next thing you know I am shouting to myself: "GET OFF ME LADY...I AM A MARRIED MAN!!!"

 I'll protect you from yourself !
  11. Cheers mate... I hope this one is on you. I will buy next time, I think I flushed my wallet down the toilet.

Well, that's my excuse anyway. I don't think Thai food will sit too well with me at 1:24am...so make it a small one tonight mate. haha!

Ah hell, let's just get some tea or coffee...I need to sober up before I stagger home..the wife is gonna take a frying pan to my head anyway....
  12.

Yeah...so long as they are made with 100% cotton!! .......oh you said "Thai" food... I thought you meant "tie" food....that stuff still hasn't worn off.

Yeah sure, which street are we talking about? That's "just" across the street is a tad greater distance from where I am sat! haha!

 I'll pick it up Mate, you still look a little wobbly... :D
