  1. You are correct. I forgot about the menu footage.
  2. No. For the MTV production in 1990. There is no 77 material on DVD at all.
  3. I wasn't around when all of this stuff was happening, but isn't it that the first time Seattle 77 and Knebworth were seen was on the MTV Rockumentary in 1990? It would seem (from my perspective anyways) that MTV's use of those two shows dislodged them from the vaults. If Page does indeed have a copy of it, you have to wonder why it wasn't used instead of Seattle? Listening to the Pontiac show for the first time now, quite phenomenal.
  4. First hand account from Bruce "the Buckeye" Deerhake that the screens were in use http://www.oldbuckey...acsilverdome77/
  5. I don't see how they would have gone through the trouble of tolerating the cameramen on stage and not at least end up with a copy of it. Now, if the tape has happened to get out and into collectors hands, that is another thing.
  6. "San Francisco Part" Dazed and Confused 1975-02-12 New York, soon to be No Quarter from the same date.
  7. I had no idea he did music like that! Absolutely fantastic
  8. Dio was one of my favorites. I was really surprised and saddened when he died. Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell is one of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJQQWbr4cXM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WYr7M2aNbA
  9. I've got Mudslide, Blueberry Hill (one of the many versions), BBC Sessions, and V 1/2 (Seattle 1973-07-17) and they are all pretty good, with Mudslide probably being my favorite. As far as finding a record player...you can buy one off of ebay but you have to be careful. Some sellers do not know how to ship a turntable and it ends up getting destroyed in the mail. Not all sellers are incompetent though. Yard/Garage/Estate sales would be the best option to find a working one. Chances are they might also have an amp with a phono stage (which you will need) or whole stereo unit. Thrift store ones are usually missing the counter weight, cartridge/stylus, or need a new belt. It isn't too hard to find one cheap, and they are generally pretty easy to get set up and running
  10. Adam Sandler - Click "Hyde" That 70's Show. They also have lots of cool posters in this tv show, can't seem to find any captures of them though.

I'm just an amateur astronomer, but I'm getting better the more and more I observe. This is the telescope i have, http://www.telescope...ortelescope.cfm . I was torn between getting that one or one that had a motorized base. A motorized base allows you to pick an object and the scope will automatically turn so that the object is in the eyepiece. I got this one because it was the kind that we used in school and it was on sale at the time. I was comfortable with it and it works well in light polluted areas (suburbs of Los Angeles). I will, at one point, end up getting one with a motorized base as I have trouble finding things other than planets and the few nebula I know how to locate. Even if you get a small telescope, looking at the moon is always fascinating. It all comes down to what you want to do with it and how much you are willing to spend/time involved.

Thanks everyone Nothing fancy at all, I'm just holding this digital camera up to the eyepiece...I can get an attachment for a camera though. Sometimes I use a tripod w/ a timer set (to minimize vibration) if the object is big enough/doesn't move out of the frame too quick.

Didn't know whether to post these in this thread or the picture thread. Anyways, I saw how big the moon was tonight and was compelled to get out my telescope and take a look. I also took a look at Jupiter. As I was setting up the haze started to creep in so my observation window was pretty short. These pictures were taken with a point and shoot handheld to the eyepiece on my 10" telescope (I didn't correct orientation). This is Saturn and Jupiter (at opposition) from last year
  15. Listening to the multitrack of Whole Lotta Love, it sounds like the middle section guitar has a tremolo on it. Which guitar might that be?
  16. Much too involved to sit here and listen to each Dazed to pick out my favorite, but I really like the ones from Danish TV and Royal Albert Hall. My favorite part of Dazed is the San Francisco part from TSRTS.

  18. I was in 5th grade when it happened, that would have made me eleven. The day before I got to stay home from school because I was sick. I was trying to find a way to convince my mom to let me stay home again. She said I was going to school, and that was that. As I was getting ready for school I turned on the tv for a split second. I remember I saw a plane flying and read "terrorist attack" on the ticker. I was going to tell my mom, but I decided not to. I turned the tv off and went to school. I assume what was on tv was either live or tape playback of the second hit. My mom had no idea that anything was happening until she got home from taking me to school and saw it on tv. I had a substitute that day, and the only piece of work I remember doing was a word search about New York, and my teacher's apology about it. I got out of school at 3:00 and I knew that something had happened, but I didn't know what it was. When I got home my parents and I sat and watched the news playback for hours. I remember being sad and crying when I saw the people on the streets in shock and horror and the collapse of the towers. The one image that I can clearly recall from that day is seeing video of someone jumping out of the window and falling towards the ground. The news only played that clip once. Even though it's been 11 years, I still get a little queasy when I see any of the videos of people jumping. I have seen all that I can find of 9/11. I have watched hours and hours of raw video, seen tens of thousands of images, read a large number of reports, everything. Every once in a while I get a burning curiosity and dive again into my archive of footage and images which currently takes up about 600 gigabytes. Why? Because I find it interesting. The audacity of the attack, the shear size of it, the damage it caused, and the mechanics of the event. It was something completely unheard of and unimaginable. 9/11 has since become fodder for crackpot conspiracy theorists and internet d-bags. Go to any world trade center video on youtube and either the comments have been disabled, people are making jokes, or are arguing about how the U.S. had it coming. Most of the theories I have read are so far fetched, it makes me wonder how people can even come up with them. After 11 years it still brings out certain emotions, but they aren't as strong as they once were. I still feel a little twinge when I see the twin towers in a movie. I have respect for the event, the people who died and their families and will never forget what happened.
