  1. "In Cold Blood" was one of the first true crime novels I read when I was young. I've probably read it a few times and have seen the movie a few as well. Maybe because I was very young when I read it, the crime was senseless, the family was so lovely, all of the above, but it has always "stayed with me".

The "Capote" film with Phillip Seymour Hoffman had a few scenes in it that I'd rather not see again, and probably won't.

  2. Purchased Led Zeppelin: The Oral History of the World's Greatest Rock Band and a fiction chick lit book about the mother of Henry VII. I started in the on the Zeppelin book and will save the paperback for a flight next week.

After reading reviews and comments over the past year on this website about factual errors and embelishments in some of these Zeppelin "history" books, I'm sure some will think I'm wasting my time and money. But I don't care, it's entertainment, isn't it?

  3. For years I was really diligent and made exercising a priority. Geez, I was even one of those crazy people that would exercise on vacation! So not like me, but I was motivated to get in shape and make exercising a permanent part of my life. But for the last year or so, since my mom passed away, I just stopped and can't for the life of me get started again, and my body is showing the neglect. I'm in my 50's and I'm afraid it's just going to be so much harder to get back where I was . . . if I even can. Maybe we could motivate each other on this thread . . .

    Hi ladies,

Glad you are getting well ledzepfvr.

justawoman, I am sorry to hear about your mother, I always push the thought out of my mind when I think about how my parents are getting on in years.

I am "one of those crazy people" who must exercise, I feel bad taking one day a week off, but I have to force myself. When choosing a hotel if I travel, one of the first things is making sure they have a fitness center, so I can relate.

I know it is hard to get back on track, but if it used to be a part of your life, you can do it again. I wouldn't mind participating in a "fitness thread".

    Cheers.

  4. Strider, it is no secret that I value your opinion/knowledge of music, you know that already :-)

I am reluctant to explain why I have to choose in this forum because it's not related to the music. Would be more appropriate in the Ramble On forum I think.

    Cheers.

  5. There's already some decent clips from the show on YouTube. So if you're trying to decide whether to see him when he comes to your town, have a listen.

I am, and I thank you for this. Food for thought. With only so much time and money, I need to choose between this and another.

  6. I didn't do anything amazing, but I had such a wonderful day. Good workout, good skate, this afternoon after the sun came out, it turned into an unseasonably warm day.

I was able to take a bike ride down to the shore and walk on the beach. Being able to do this in New England in late October is a special treat. A nice bottle of wine is wating, so it's not over yet!
