  1. If someone wants to post a spoiler (I almost put one in a few weeks back about the Joffrey murder), you can use the spoiler option. That way it will only be seen if someone wants to be spoiled. Use the "Special BBC Code" icon next to the eraser on the top line of options. I too was disappointed that GoT took the week off. Should be some good shows the rest of the way.
  2. Since Boston is out, I'm hoping for Strider's Kings....gotta get there first. Two more. Come on crown.
  3. I can hardly bear to read or post in this topic. Trying to stick with my feelings from the start of the season that as long as the team as a whole doesn't stop trying, they get a pass this year. Hope everyone else who posts in this thread is happy with how their teams are doing. I saw Detroit play in Boston last week. Even during the lineup announcements, I thought to myself what a great team that is. They are in a bit of a rough streak right now, but what a strong team in both hitting and pitching. Again, good luck everyone.
  4. An otherwise perfect day at Fenway and in Boston, losing that baseball game didn't upset me much. Nearly pulled off the comeback. Buchholz's health is in question. Time will tell I suppose. Going off topic a bit, but: Walter - I understand that Mrs. Walter is coming down the home stretch. Best wishes for improved health and strength to all of the Walters.
  5. Haven't posted in this thread in a while. Lot of good points Whoopie Cat. Yes, great photos SozoZoso, must have been a great time. I wasn't thrilled with Episode 3, it didn't hold my attention as much as the first two, but that happens with many series. Hated the scene with Jamie too. Maybe the Irish actor Aiden Gillan was tired and spoke in his normal tongue ;-) I saw him in a movie preview this weekend - the name of which escapes me at the moment. Too many favorite characters to choose a top five. I do wish some of the Starks had lasted longer, especially Ned.
  6. Nothing to see here . Any time you're ready to start playing Sox, please feel free.

    Golf Talk

Haven't had a chance to watch any of the tournament yet, but hope to catch the end today. Interesting leaderboard. Shocked to see Couples up there, good on him.
  8. Nice photos zepscoda. I haven't been to a Stars game in a few years (I have a brother who lives near Dallas). Looks like the team has more of a following now from looking at the audience in your photos. Isn't Seguin a joy to watch on skates?
  9. I agree tomloge. If the buyer knows what he/she is buying a ticket for and enjoys it, why not? I got the idea to attend the New Orleans festival too late - the only available hotels within a reasonable distance were very pricey. Maybe you will post a review after the show? Re: Get the Led Out. I have seen them twice and loved them. Excellent musicians. They don't try to look like Zeppelin, no one can "copy" Robert's voice, but the singer has a great one. I wouldn't hesitate to see them a third time.
  10. http://jackwhiteiii.com/jack-white-third-man-records-present-the-worlds-fastest-released-record-record-store-day-2014/ Snipped from article: "At 10am in the morning, Jack will take the stage in Third Man’s blue room and record direct-to-acetate what will serve as the limited edition version of his next single, a live rendition of the title track from his upcoming LP Lazaretto. The masters will then be rushed over to United Record Pressing, who will immediately begin pressing 45s. The sleeves will be printed from pictures taken at the show. The finished records will be whisked back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans. All in the same day. All in a matter of mere hours. As long as there are fans in line waiting to buy the single, United will continue to press and deliver them to Third Man to sell. Even if it takes all day."

  12. Oh my goodness, poor Don Baylor and everyone who had to witness that freak accident last night. I heard some descriptions but chose not to watch the video. My "Captain Obvious" comment of the day for the fans whose team lost yesterday (like mine) - the beauty of the pro baseball schedule is that you don't have much time to cry in your beer.
  13. I personally look forward to some of the creative names Jabe will come up with as he did in the NFL predictions thread.

    March Madness

I don't want to talk about it.

    March Madness

One bracket, final four: UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Wichita with Wichita winning it all. OH State my only bad pick from day one, but it will haunt me, I had them winning few.
  17. Providence Friars in the (new) Big East final for the first time in 20 years. Time certainly does fly. They were crushed by Creighton last weekend, but it's a new day. Not sure if they can get into the NCAAs without winning tonight.
  18. Sounds like the snoozefest was worth it for the weather alone. Will you get to see any Os games? Imagine how sweet that dinner will be when it happens? Hope it is soon. Less than three weeks to freezing my butt in Fenway. Yahooooooo!
  19. Happy Birthday Ally, the Chase (freezing birthday I'm sure) and April Lynn - haven't seen you around much. Hope you're well and having good times.
  20. Happy to hear you are on the mend and thanks for the updates.
