  1. ......says you are in NY.....but judging from these dates I'd think that back in the 70's you were in the midwest, yeah???.......
  2. .........good god.......you saw all these tours?.........that is remarkable.........what show(s) in '71 did you happen to catch???
  3. ..........absurd........what about JPJ's last 30 thirty years???.......does he somehow NOT COUNT????.....and what about Robert's quality control???.....in all honesty........Dreamland???.......Hurting Kind???????.......I would certainly give him more praise than any one guy out of all the different supergroups........as far as his post-supergroup solo efforts.....but it ain't ALL been good......and Jimmy's done some great post-Zeppelin work.......and the only way I'd be happy with him doing anything new is if it's something he's genuinely inspired to do......not to please any collective appetite of his Zeppelin base.......everyone busts this guys chops endlessly........fucking just leave the guy alone......I'm happy for whatever he decides to do.....and even happier he is STILL WITH US.......
  4. ........yeah, no question.......San Fran '71 is a perfect example of that......but in their entire live journey, there is nothing that touches that big doomy sound of the '77 shows.....the Alembic coupled w/ Bonham's absurdly over-the-top miking of the bass drum...I was told that it drove Jimmy NUTS in '77......he never liked the alembic sound to begin with.......and now Bonzo had decided to go completely GONZO with the bass-drum.......the feedback in '77 was beyond hysterical (best example would be that blues jam in the middle of Joney's solo in NQ from 6-23)......personally I loved every second of it but I can imagine it driving anyone onstage completely nuts......and it will haunt me till the end that they never multi-tracked a single fucking show from the whole '77 run........especially the June shows at MSG and out in LA........when that sbd of 6-7 came out two years ago I could not believe Bonham's drums on ALS......that drumming performance is to Achilles what 6-21 is to TSRTS.......untouchable........
  5. ..........thank you very kindly.......now I can understand why you're called Strider!!!.....you are very good at rescuing sanity from the bowels of Mordor.......and thankfully for me my power went out here in the tri-state area last night just as this was all getting beyond retarded........I'm only seeing this insanity just now.......one of these rocket scientists was even "private-messaging" me over all this.....as if it were all my fault......bottom line- even hardcore Zeppelin fans can be so...........and I'll leave it up to everyone else to complete that thought!.............
  6. ................"You sound like one of those ten year-olds you mentioned" ..............so.......that......was how you were attempting to "play down the issue"?????......where do they grow people like you?????.........is there some kind of PC cookie-cutter machine over in Kanata??????.......good god.........
  7. .............who the fuck ARE YOU to tell me anything???????.......and please find me any ten yr old kid that sounds like ME, buddy........cause I'd rather hang out with him / her........then listen to you politically correct semantic-speaking types.........you certainly don't sound like a Zeppelin fan.............more like some shithead Dave Matthews fan.................
  8. .......strange Zeppelin fans, man, I'll tell ya.......we've got this amazing Celebration Day release(s) coming out......and then a WATERSHED box-set release next year.......and you Zep-fanatics are talking about SELLING OUT????????????......WTF..........
  9. ...........there is OH SO LITTLE.......that I do "not know what the fuck I'm talking about"......when it comes to Led Zeppelin......for Christ sake, there's 10 yr old CHILDREN OUT THERE......dipshit......that understand Led Zeppelin have far outsold the Stones......and, in fact- on a "per release" basis.....for any act that's got at least ten different releases out there....they are actually the best-selling act of ALL TIME.......dipshit.....the POINT I'M MAKINGis- WTF does any of that have to do with "selling out"???.......dipshit........
  10. ........wouldn't you agree that......there's a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.......between "maximizing sales"......and "selling out"???
  11. .......oh, yeah???.......well, how 'bout an EXAMPLE??????.........
  12. ...........a market???.......I would certainly disagree with that assessment........we are not Stones fans......or Beatles fans......Jimmy Page never "milked his market" for all we are worth here in the Zeppelin community (and TRUST ME- I'd have no problem if he HAD!)........but it is disrespectful to suggest he has.......because, in spite of what those scumbag hypocrites over at Rolling Stone magazine have written FOREVER.....concerning Zeppelin......fact is they NEVER SOLD OUT......in fact they are the ONLY MAJOR ARTIST......in the LAST CENTURY.......who HASN'T............................
  13. .......amazing.......cannot BELIEVE the detailed information both of these links go into.......thank you so much for both your answer and these two links......in the rehearsals-phase leading up to this show, I was directly in touch with some of the principles.....and believe me when I tell you that there were definitely some major issues regarding how this Metallica sound-man Mick was gonna be miking Jason's bass-drum for the house PA.......because Lars Ulrich's live bass drum sound is basically the complete opposite of what John Bonham went for live (Lars bass-drum is completely focused on the hit, or the attack- while John Bonham's bass-sound had NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT AT ALL; his bass-drum sound was entirely focused on the CARRY......on what comes AFTER THE HIT......but unfortunately for Jason, by miking it in that way (both back in the 70's and if they were going to attempt that at the 02 gig as well) there will invariably always be major feedback problems.....both onstage, in the multi-tracked recordings, and over the PA......that's why if you listen to any audience recordings of Zeppelin gigs that also happened to be professionally recorded on that evening- the bass-drum wouldn't have nearly the amount of balls that it would normally have on any audience recording of a gig that was not being recorded.....that's because they could not mike his bass-drum up the way Bonzo normally preferred them to be miked because it would it cause major problems with for professional multi-tracked recording......listen to the bass drum on TSRTS......you can barely hearthe fucking thing (and on the audience boots from 7/27-28-29/73 as well)......whereas listen to his bass-drum on audience recordings like 4/28/77 or 6/21-23/77......it's the scariest sounding live bass-drum you'll ever hear...... ......
  14. this all getting about as interesting as things could POSSIBLY GET........I figured this sort of project would be next on the Zeppelin release drawing boards (many moons ago a little bird told me JP had originally planned to put this same project together around 05 / 06- but had gotten so completely disgusted dealing with the other two that he finally threw his hands up and shelved the whole thing!)......but to come right on the heels of Celebration Day is way more than I could have ever imagined!!!.....GOD BLESS JIMMY PAGE................
  15. .....jeeze, you're right......and come to think of it- I don't believe I ever ended up knowing which guitar was used for the studio version.........anyone on that???
