  1. Rolling Stones Recording In France Rolling Stones Set Premiere Date For Tour Documentary
  2. Cool clip. Well, except for the lip synching part...
  3. I saw Men In Black 3 earlier this summer myself. It's been a long time since I last saw the other two movies in the series so I'm not sure how the new one compares but as a blockbuster, popcorn type movie I was definitely entertained but not exactly blown away by it.
  4. Cool piece of fan art commemorating the 30th anniversary of the release of Chronic Town.
  5. Neil Young and Crazy Horse Double-Disc 'Psychedelic Pill' Due in October
  6. Celebrating 30 years of the little EP that could... Chronic Town Poster Torn
  7. The latest video from Glossary uses footage from their current summer tour.
  8. I've posted this at least a couple of times before but it's well worth posting again. There were strict anti-taping and photography rules in place but someone managed to pull this off, I'm guessing by using their cellphone.
  9. When Stanley refers to this as Kiss' "victory lap" one can only hope he's not kidding. Kiss Unveil $4000 Photo Book, New Songs In California Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer and Gene Simmons of KISS attend the launch of the KISS 'Monster' Book at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. 10. ^Nice shot but the watermark kills it (as they often do).
  11. They broke that out as an encore in Raleigh a couple of years ago. Damn good stuff.
  12. Interview: Billy Gibbons Talks ZZ Top's La Futura Track-by-Track (Music Radar)
  13. Cool, that would make for one very kick ass album cover.
  14. New from the Young Fresh Fellows who just released their brand new album Tiempo De Lujo yesterday. If Power Pop is your thing this should be right up your alley.
  15. Johnny Van Zant Band in concert circa 1983. I saw them just a couple of years prior to this when they were on tour with Def Leppard (who went on first) and Blackfoot (who headlined) when they played Minges Coliseum on the campus of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
  16. This article by A.V Club author Jason Heller is a nice enough read but I do have to take issue with a few items. The first is how he counters the bands' anti-gun stance of "Saturday Night Special" with a reference to "Gimme Back My Bullets". Any Skynyrd fan worth their salt knows that song isn't a reference to guns at all but is about "bullets" on the Billboard chart. Skynyrd have no shortage of other songs where gunplay is mentioned such as "Cheatin' Woman" where Van Zant sings, "I'm gonna shoot you and end your world" so I'm not sure why he felt "Gimme Back My Bullets" warranted a mention. I also can't agree with him that the post-crash Skynyrd "isn't bad at all" and that the title track to their new album Last of A Dyin' Breed is how Skynyrd would have sounded had the plane crash never occurred. However, I do agree with how underrated the Rossington-Collins Band is. If only they could have continued. They were still a far cry from pre-crash Skynyrd but I'll take the two albums they did together over anything the post-crash Skynyrd has done. Every Mother's Son: Why Lynyrd Skynyrd Has Survived
  17. Tom Petty hit the nail on the head several years back with the title track to his album The Last DJ. In fact, it hit so close to home that it was banned by several Clear Channel owned stations. Loved that Black Prairie song, thanks so much for posting it. Here's a band that's been gaining some notoriety as of late called The Lumineers. They just passed through here opening for Old Crowe Medicine Show. I first heard them earlier this summer on KEXP out of Seattle.
