  1. Hi All.

    'It's a sign'.

I toasted some bread this morning and look what happened. I'm calling the Vatican.

Has anyone else seen any signs? Please post your photo's, for some 2014 Christmas fun.

"Ho Ho Ho Mamma Know The Way You Move, Gonna Make You Sweat, Gonna Make You Groove".

Happy Christmas to everyone on here and a Happy Healthy New Year.

  2. Thanks for sharing ZISH. :)

I might be wrong but I was searching for some Herco picks recently online and I kept getting the same story that they still sell them but they are made by Dunlop now and the nylon is a little different? Could be wrong though.

Never the less, You got some real gems their my friend, along with a Jimmy used authentic Herco from the day. :)

    Hi Again Azad.

Sorry, I did not fully answer your question.

You can still buy Herco Plectrums. They are made by Dunlop and are a little different in design and material. I personally think the original ones are a much better plectrum.

    Happy Christmas to you Azad.

  3. Hey everyone. Glad to be apart of this forum. I've been reading this forum for a few years now and finally decided to join. I'm 21 years old. Discovered Zeppelin around 10 years ago. Since then I have been a die hard fan. Huge collector of anything Zeppelin. My Instagram name is also "cmjvinyl". I post many Zeppelin/Zep related things including many rare items if you're interested in checking them out. Can't wait to start talking to everyone!

    Have a great day!

    Hi cmjvinyl.

I hope that you enjoy it here.

  4. Shaft, man that was a long time ago, back when Isaac Hayes was the shit! I remember having to special order a cassette of The Theme From Shaft because it was impossible to get back in the 70s. I hope it doesn't get imprinted on my mind for the next three months, now that it's in there again...

    Who's the black private dick
That's a sex machine to all the chicks?
    You're damn right
    Who is the man
That would risk his neck for his brother man?
    Can you dig it?
Who's the cat that won't cop out
    When there's danger all about?
    Right on
They say this cat Shaft is a bad mother
    (Shut your mouth)
    But I'm talkin' 'bout Shaft
    (Then we can dig it)
    He's a complicated man
But no one understands him but his woman
    (John Shaft)

    Hi Daniel.

I also hope that the theme tune from Shaft does not replay over and over in you head until the new year.

We've gone from Zeppelin to Shaft in one giant leap. Thanks for the lyrics.

    All the best.

  5. Your awesome i just started playing u have any tips for me.

They had a women sing with them on the battle of ever more.

    Her name was sandy denny.

    Hi Tazz.

My only advice to you would be just keep at it. Just keep listening and learning. It will always be hard at first but do not give up. You will be glad when don't because of the amount of pleasure you will get and hopefully other people will get.

Good luck and thank you for the kind words.

  6. Hey Zish, interesting version of Kashmir. More original than any I've ever heard before.

I heard one of your other youtube vids which I thought was also interesting.

    Hey azad.

Thanks for your comments. I know lot's of people learn note for note on all ranges of music but I think because I basically taught myself and can not read music, I would never be able to learn it that way. Hence, My stuff is based on the original but with my slant.

    Thanks again.

  7. I used to go and watch at Manticore. It was around the corner to where I lived. Led Zeppelin did frequently go to The Red Lion, which changed name to The Goldon Lion. I also watched Barclay James Harvest and Bethnel rehearse there. Manticore had a full size stage and was used for the 1977 American Tour. The Golden Lion is where Jimmy presented one of his guitars to a Canadian man, who had won 'The Capital Radio,'Save A London Child', "Silly Party Night Raffle. In December 1982. I was there that night, which I have previously written about. As an extra snippet, the last film to be shown before the cinima closed was. Richard Rowntree's 'Shaft'. in 1972.

  8. Hi Zish.

Sorry for replying late to this post.

I've been away from computers etc for a little while.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    I will stick left handed.

It's just I used to muck around on right handed guitars but played it upside down left handed so the strings were the wrong way around.

Now I have bit the bullet and started re learning with proper left handed guitars strung correctly for left handers.

It's all new to me and like starting from scratch.

I won't give up though and I am determined to constantly improve and to one day soon play some of the stuff I used to. Not that I was good because I wasn't.

I just had some finger picking and certain feel stuff down which now is all gone and needing to re learn.

I have thought about restringing a good right handed guitar but there is new nuts and perhaps new bridges, and then there is the cutaway problem from the right handed body like on strats etc.

I will just get a made up L/handed guitar form fender bits I think.

Thanks so much for your help though Zish.

It is very much appreciated. :)

That's it, just keep on keeping on. It will pay in the end.

    Speak soon.

    All the best.

  9. Hi Zish,

Thanks for putting this vid up mate.

Very impressive lead playing my friend. :)

Your 1970's pre law suit Ibanez Les Paul copy and your Marshall MG 100DFX certainly cut through and sound great Zish.

I'm really thinking about a Gibson now over the Tele????

I'm just gonna have to find a shop where there are some lefties to try of both Gibsons and Tele's otherwise I'm buying blind which is not a great idea. Haven't found any shops in my area that have any of those.

Why couldn't I have forced myself to be right handed. :/

    Hi azad.

On a personal note, I would stay left handed, only because you will be adding a problem where there isn't one by going right handed, just a thought. I'm sure that you will find a leftie, although I'm saying this and my daughter is left handed but naturally played right handed, when she started. She actually asked me which way to play, left or right handed, I just said see what is comfortable. I know it probably would introduce yet another problem but what about getting a right hander and restring it to left handed?

Just thinking out load here. I hope I haven't mudded the water further.

  10. Of course that's very true. Regarding your going out for a beer with Jimmy it was just a guess based on what people write when signing photos, books, Lps etc... But it was still just a guess and for all I know you could be Jimmy's best mate, plumber, milkman or pub landlord (that would really sink my argument!)

That photo's a cool thing to have and thank you for sharing it with us. And yes this is a fine site.

    God bless you ZISH

    Hi babysquid.

Thank you for the nice post, it is a lovely item to have and it's a pleasure to share to share it. Your Friend,

    ZISH. ;O)

  11. It does not bother me. I do not know where each member stands individually at this time? I have little doubt that at some point Plant or Page had to be Christian to some degree. The words "meet me Jesus meet me, meet me in the middle of the air, if my wings should fail me Lord, please meet me with another pair". are about as Christian as you can get. Or when he calls upon the angel Gabriel and St Peter. I think the members are spiritual. I do not think they are atheists by any means. For the record I am a devout Catholic. And I do believe that Jesus is the son of God. And I believe that God must have given Led Zeppelin the absolute magic that they have as musicians.

    Nice post LedZeppfan77.

  12. I probably shouldn't say anything, but I am disturbed by what seems like an undercurrent of ignorance and fear in some of the remarks in this thread.

First of all, if you are an intelligent person (a big "if") and you've been following what Page has actually said directly or indirectly about his views on religion, spirituality, etc. over the years, you have a pretty good idea of what he believes or follows or is at least interested in. You would not need to speculate. I'm not going to say anything more about it.

As for the blah blah blah about "devil worship" I know a few Satanists and the so-called "devil" they worship is metaphorical, symbolic. I couldn't care less if Page is a Satanist or not. It wouldn't mean that he practiced human sacrifice or any of the other imagined ridiculosities that are part of a fear-mongering that benefits some other groups, who apparently need to promote themselves by instigating fear against those who believe differently. As for selling one's "soul" to the devil, I am absolutely sure many people here would do so if it were possible and would result in benefits including becoming a kick-ass guitar player, getting more chicks, or something else they wanted. Sadly there is no entity named the "Devil" who can grant these wishes, just like there is no Santa Claus, more's the pity.

    Hi ScarletMacaw.

    I must agree with you.

  13. What does it explain? He said "God bless" but that doesn't prove he's religious! It's a common enough turn of phrase. He also said "your friend" but I bet you've never been out for a beer with him. Sorry if this sound a bit harsh.

    Hey babysquid.

The photo was just to add to the thread. It was not to prove anything. The one thing you are right about, is that it is a common enough turn of phrase. As far as bet on my going out for a beer with Jimmy, I would not bet more than you could afford. You never know who is writing on this very fine site.
