Er... just to get back on track ... Trampled Underfoot is definitely in the opening ceremony, for about 15 seconds.
How do you know its in for 15 secs ? did you go to the rehearsal for the Opening Ceremony yesterday night ?

I will leave it your imagination

Standard fare, yeldd.
As you will learn, there are several contrarians here who could start an argument in an empty room.
It does seem bizarre and odd

I think for me it was his best tour in 1988, saw him a few times that year and have fond memories, think It Bites opened on some of them. It was a good band (Robert's not It Bites) and twith he mixture of solo and at last some Zeppelin material worked so well. Enough time had passed for him to play some after carving out his post Zep career with the first 3 albums of solo material. Having said that Robbie Blunt and co in the band were also top notch. All good really.

Johnny With the few days I have had on this forum I had a hunch you wouldn't agree, but they were a one off and I didn't say that other bands were or not revered. Your reply seems strange as mine was only full of praise for them. Your comment comes across as dumb in reply to mine.

As this thread is hosted by SAJ, is he part of the Zep organisation ? having a thread with his name in it makes it sound very important.

Its great to read all the great comments from other artists, good comments too, it show they had on Popular music, they were a one off.

Most of Led Zeppelin's first LP like Dazed and Confused, I Can't Quit You Babe, re working on Black Mountainside etc are all really good covers from the originals.

just watching Some poor geezer chuck away the lead and loose the greatest prize in golf "The Open" at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Course - Lancashire, England on the last few holes after leading most of the time. He must be gutted.
before that The "Tour De France" where Bradley Wiggins win it for Britain.....................fantastic.

I think that is such a good song. Zeppelinesque almost!

Hey the fellow rockers! i have 2 standing tickets for the Brixton Academy but i cant make it and i was looking to swap these for 2 standing Hammersmith Apollo tickets
no luck on gumtree/google, anyone wanna help a white head out?
cheers x
Did you manage to swap ?

Agh Steve Morse the guitarists guitarist.

Its a goodish album, but I think he got it right about the Shaken'n'Stirred to "Manic Nirvina" time. PAE has its moments though, it started to get suspect when Sax solos were on tracks but overall a good if not safe first effort.

Come on now, what's all the hostility over Johnny Cash? Yes, he's flawed - but that's part of the beauty of humanity. I could never be offended by a human image, only an inhuman one - like Iggy Pop or Dee Snider, for example.
No hostility over old cashy at all, just his middle finger

Hope we do at least get one Zep tune in the opening ceremony.

Hey Major, don't fret. You guys rule with the whole fish & chips not to mention the parlamentary system, Shakespeare, Dr. Dee, Newton, fig newtons, football, and of course, Helen Mirren!!! Now if your country could just find a few dentists, the empire would be complete
nah we don't need dentists, it makes everyone individual with different teeth instead of some countries..(no names) with all the same bright white nashers looking like they are from some madam tussauds museum

I think that Jimmy Page is done as far as new material goes, unreleased material, well I hope that's a different story. The reason I say that is because when he did the interview at that David Bowie thing last week, I sensed, for the first time that Jimmy was in self-defense mode. He seemed to be making excuses for what he's said what he's been up to, what would be happening and what he would be doing, it just wasn't the same Jimmy--I've never seen him in that type of defense mode, it was like I wish the interviewer would catch a sense and move on. I'm not saying this paragraph with disdain or any kind of hard feeling, His music has continued to make me happy for many years, if he wants to take it easy and be a retired gentleman, that is fine by me, I've still got all of the music that he gave to me/us. I plan on retiring, Jimmy should have that right too, he should be able to enjoy the fruits of his labor without thinking he owes any one anything.
Don't get me wrong, I think that Jimmy Page is the kick ass rock and roller that ever appeared as a rock-n-roller. He is the man. But maybe the man just wants to retire? That's his choice, I hope that he ends up living until he's well past the 100 years mark, because he is Jimmy Page!
Yes he owes us nothing, at his age I would like just to chill make the odd guest appearance onstage and enjoy he fruits of the past.

Are you offended by this image? If so, you might want to prepare yourself for another board member that posts here quite a bit.
No I am not offended by it at all, why ? I said some might be offended by Johnny cash pic, why are you being uptight by it, its your choice to have it and mine to take it down. I am entitled to my opinion about why I took it down.
You seem a little agitated by it all. Right Johnny I am off to talk Zeppelin and this seems to be off topic now.

I can't say I'd consider it "low brow" in the least, particularly when it's one of the most recognized and honored photographs in the history of music. Hell, even Johnny himself used it in this ad from Billboard back in the 90's when he won a Grammy for his album American Recordings despite the record being shunned by commercial Country radio. It's also rather ironic that someone would refer to the image as "lowbrow" on a Zeppelin site unless you're just not in the know about their extracurricular activities back in the day. It's absolutely tame in comparison.
I would chill, I did have it as my avatar, but decided a bit of decorum was needed as didn't see any other offensive picture on here. There are times and places.

^ I can't help but notice your avatar (profile pic) You have a twin here.......Don't worry, you'll see him pop up sooner than later.
Blimey you were right, he is all over here like a rash.....

I can't say that I've really found it offensive. If anything, it's one of the most iconic photographs in the history of music and is a living testament not only to Cash himself and how he never took shit off of anyone but also to the late, great photographer, Jim Marshall.
No but it is a bit low brow on here, can't imagine Jimmy Page doing that, but i guess he is an English Gentleman, although am sure somewhere there will be a photo of him with an offensive pic.

Really ? what are the chances of that,it is offensive picture anyway, I shall change it to something more fitting to this forum.

Highly doubt it, I think the list is BS. First, you really think they would play the Sex Pistols God Save the Queen? The song was banned in England by both the BBC and IBA for years. Second, who will perform the Beatles song live, two are deceased.
Yeh they will play that as its very much changed in 35 years since the Pistols did it, they are part of our national consciousness and it doesn't come across as it did...so yeh I think it will be played.

At least they Got The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd in there somewhere alongside Queen and Stones, very much the best of British music.
