Ever been there Ally? Babs? Do they have that confounded accent like in Ontario? My cousin's up there always saying "eh". What the fuck is eh? Is it short for "you know?" It is most irritating. I hope they sing the anthem in French tomorrow. Like in Montreal.

I read somewhere much of Canada is not that enthused with Vancouver having a great chance to win the Cup and bring it back to Canada? Because it isn't Montreal or Toronto? I guess. I say the Leafs will be in position to win one before the other teams excluding Vancouver. Leafs heading in the right direction. Montreal I believe is in for a long year. Edmonton rebuilding but have a good young group. Calgary are good, but probably don't have the money to get the needed help to go farther? I know what that is like. Oh, and now there is Winnipeg. Where in the devil is that again? Which province? How far from Calgary and Edmonton is it? Is it a bigger city than those others? Any canadiens want to enlighten me?
Manitoba, which is a ways away from Calgary/Edmonton. Google says 1,325 km.

Unfortunately it's at an incredibly busy time where I just can't get away from my commitments. I'm pretty passed the point these days of travelling long distances for festivals but if I didn't have so much going on this would get me out of my complacency.

I dont know Ally. Something bothers me with the system when a team starts out 0-2 and gets to the medal round with a 2-2 record. I mean, this game was not intended for one game win all. It should be a series like in the NHL playoffs. Finland, the US and the Swedes could all have won just as easily as Russia or Canada. Finland being a very good team and overlooked. Its great hockey and fun to watch. But are the Russians really the best team? Doubt it. I think Canada and Sweden are both just as good.
These kids don't have the time to play in such a long series. They have commitments to their junior teams, domestic leagues, etc. All on international hockey is structured in the same way too, so there really is no reason to have the juniors tournament be any exception.

The Bills third stringers would pummel the argonauts. Its not even close to the same product. The CFL has no shot against the NFL. Its a league of castaways that could not make the NFL. And to the poster below, the regular season game will be worth paying $80 for all day compared to paying $200 to see the Maple Laughs.
Because the Bills are such an elite team.

I am a bit disappointed the Toronto fans are not showing up more in force for the NFL games. The Bills did win last night and finally gave them something to cheer about. 39.000 and change showed. 14 thousand under a sellout. I hope that they come out for the regular season game against Chicago. if not, forget ever having an NFL team. Vancouver could not keep an NBA team. Montreal could not keep the Expos. and there is alot of money in 'Canada. Lets get out there and support the Bills!!!! Come on!!! We are giving up a regular season game in Buffalo. If the Bills start winning maybe it will make a difference? I know many will cross the border but I would like to see some Canadiens go to the games. Well, I guess i dont have to worry much about the Bills being moved to Toronto. They only support the Leafs. A team that has not won in ages And has not even made the playoffs in ages. I say that streak ends this year. But I wish some of the Toronto fans would show up for the Bears game and cheer on the Bills.
Why would people go to preseason games that don't matter?

You don't want to see a police state in action? I, for one, am excited. I work in the "outer security zone" so it'll be interesting to see if I can see any anarchists in action. Although, I'm still hoping they'll give me the day off.

PS For those who are wondering what we are writing about...the G20 Summit will be held in Toronto...they have constructed a set/scene at the facility for journalists..the scene/backdrop/set is a picture of a lake and it has been dubbed Fake Lake....many people are mad because the set is costing thousands of taxpayers' money...and I think that Canada is more than a lake....What's wrong with a picture of a barn...some animals...etc etc...???
PSS This afternoon our finance minister, Flaherty, said that Canadians should save more money....so sorry...I won't be spending much money this year...at Lake Fake or any other vacation spot...
That's not true. From GO Transit web site: "Union Station will remain open but exits to Front St. will be closed during the weekend."

I think and I may be wrong, but I think I heard somewhere that Canada and the US are the only two bording countries to never be at war.
But then, someone could have made that up.
Also, Wisconsin, where I'm from borders Canada.
Canada, as an independent nation, has never been at with the US. But we did kick some ass in the War of 1812.
