  1. "Well-Worn Sound, With Unrelenting Swagger." Ben Ratliff's (great writer, always worth checking out) review of Barclay's Center show in the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.c...enter.html?_r=0 Edit: More..... http://artsbeat.blog...stic/?ref=music Second Edit: As much as I love Led Zeppelin, I have been of the opinion for many years that Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile On Main Street are the three greatest back-to-back-to-back studio Rock albums ever recorded. 5. Judging from the way things were going from 1977 to 1980 I have to regrettably agree. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/

To my great shock, I encountered both "The Starry Night" by Van Gogh, and "The Persistence of Time" by Dali. My two favorite paintings, ever. My favorite painter of all time is Edward Hopper. 8. May I strongly recommend director David O. Russell's jarring use of What Is And What Should Never Be in "Silver Linings Playbook," currently in theaters. A great song in a great movie by a great director. http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-critic-reviews/silver-linings-playbook/ In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. 9. My first David Bowie experience was the summer of 1972, sitting in my uncle's Opel GT in front of an auto mechanic shop in San Jose, Costa Rica. Space Oddity came on the AM radio. Sitting alone in that car at age eight, I experienced that song in it's absolute fullness. I was riveted by the music and lyrics. Each time I have heard the song on the radio I think of that day. Two years later I got Pinups for Christmas. Loved it. From February to November 1975 I was floored by Physical Graffiti, Young Americans, and Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a great year. Young Americans is a great track
  10. If it wasn't for the three men on that stage I would not have those songs in my life. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/

  12. Album is one of the greatest things I have ever heard, ever. Tony Williams of Miles Davis also played drums. Wasn't Laswell on bass? I have been searching for years for any liner-note info on who played on what tune. If anyone can help please let me know. Vai's solo on Ease is Number One on my list of my Fifty Favorite Guitar Solos Of All Time. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/
  13. An absolutely major figure in American Jazz. What a band he had. What an influence he had on so many. Paul Desmond was one of the coolest Jazz musicians ever. Joe Morello was a true badass. I love Brubeck and will miss him. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/
  14. Thanks for the heads up! I vividly remember Autobahn on the radio when I was in fifth grade. Years later, I spent every night of college spring break shrooming to Computer World. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/
  15. Exactly. In my short time here there is so much negative energy in this forum. We can't see the forest from the trees. Instead of being grateful for this wonderful and rare opportunity to see these guys together we have to slam Letterman and insist the interview conform to our endlessly high rigid expectations. There is something about the depersonalized nature of online communications that makes message boards on sites like YouTube a morass of profane hostility. People not just disagreeing, but slamming those who do not share the same opinion about something as subjective as music. I se
  16. Crazy. I have spent time in Enumclaw, and Issaquah (sp.?). One of my closest friends from Arizona was from there and I went there to visit him in the 90's. I drank a lot of Rainier beer and discovered KNCU. Peace. In The Light since 1972.l Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/

  18. God what a great thread. Here is Arizona State University's Wells Fargo Arena, known as the Activity Center on the fateful night of Led Zeppelin's third-to-last U.S. show on July 20, 1977. I graduated in this building in 1987. I saw Randy Rhoads with the Blizzard of Ozz here three months before Rhoads died. I also saw Plant here, The Firm, The Pretenders, Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Yes, Dire Straits, and the first two shows of U2's Joshua Tree tour. The best show I saw there, by far, was Springsteen's Born In The USA tour. At the stadium in the background, I saw The Who on Halloween
  19. So sweet! In 1992 saw them (and the Sugarcubes(?!)) open for U2 in a football stadium carved out of solid rock in El Paso. The Zoo TV Outdoor Broadcast. Whenever I tell anyone I saw Public Enemy open for U2 they invariably raise their eyebrows. In The Light since 1972. Trampled Under Foot. My life with Led Zeppelin. http://petedelorean.tumblr.com/
  20. The year was 1972. My mother and I lived near what we then called the "river bottom" in North Tempe. One day one of our longhair stoner neighbors came over to our apartment and began talking with me about music. I told him what I liked. He looked at me with a knowing smile, and said “I have something you should listen to.” He came back with an album, and on the cover was some old guy carrying a load of sticks on his back. He placed the needle on the vinyl. He said “The first song is called Black Dog.“ I was a budding young drummer who was weaned on Ringo. This was not Ringo. We smiled at
