  1. I want to send my same sentiments to both you Walter and Paul and anyone else on this Forum that may be in the path of this seemingly destructive storm. I cannot fathom what it would be like it if this Hurricane Matthew is as powerful and destructive as the media is projecting that it may be. Be prepared and stay safe...
  2. Ratt was a band I grew up listening to. They were not the greatest band of the mid 1980's, but they were good and had more then a few decent songs. This being one of my favorites:
  3. I am currently watching this with real tears in My eyes:
  4. I forgot how much I Love Chewbacca.
  5. John Henry Bonham, one of the most Powerful men to ever walk the planet. Just the basic but hardly the basic:
  6. I have read a lot of times that the members of Black Sabbath listened to and loved Led Zeppelin's first album. When it came time to finish Black Sabbath's second album, Paranoid, they needed one more song to finish the album so they wrote and recorded the song "Paranoid" and fashioned it on Led Zeppelin's song, "Communication Breakdown". If you listen to both songs truly, there is a very uncanny resemblance to "Paranoid" sounding very similar to "Communication Breakdown" as both songs are similar in structure and riffs, only the lyrics ate different. To me, that means that Led Zeppelin were very tangible and definitely an influence on Black Sabbath. I would guess to say that Tony Iommi would proudly say that Jimmy Page was a big influence of his even though they are roughly the same age. I Love Tony Iommi, but I LOVE JIMMY PAGE WAY MORE THAN ANY OTHER HUMAN BEING ON THIS PLANET EARTH!!!
  7. This is what I did yesterday (to late to post for "today"). I got my car inspected even though I have a cracked windshield on the passenger side (the cracked windshield came about 4 months ago when there was a very fierce thunderstorm in Plano that produced softball sized hail, luckily only that part of my windshield was slightly damaged). Anyway, I looked into a complete windshield replacement and the cost of that would be roughly $300. I can afford that but would rather not. I went to the inspection station and asked the guy if my car would pass with a cracked windshield and he said yes, it will pass. My only concern after that is would my car pass any of the myriad of other "tests" that the inspection station tests. It did and I was happy to pay the $25.50. That gives me another 365 days to purchase a car that is from this century and not the last. Good Day...
  8. I grew up with Triumph in the mid 1980's and have loved them ever since. I will admit that my love for them seemed to have diminished over time because they did not seem to make records anymore after the time that I really began to love them. As much as Triumph made their (short) mark as a Canadian Power Trio, in My opinion, Rush took over their fan base here in the United States. Even though Triumph made a couple of good albums, Rush was already a solid and established band from Canada since 1973 and seemed to overtake and become more popular. ...
  9. This post goes out to all the innocent Americans who were murdered 15 years ago on this date: September 11, 2001. Even though I never knew any of You, You will always be in my Mind and Heart. God Bless all of You and God Bless America... and ...Long Live the Great and Powerful United States of America!!!
  10. First of all, I should have said, from what I've read. I think it was from "When Giants Walked the Earth" (I could be mistaken). Anyway from what I remember reading, John Bonham came back from a tour ('75 or '77?) and had a suspicion that Glenn Hughes had "been" with his wife Pat. This apparently sent Bonzo into a massive fury that he was heard to say that He wanted to kill Glen Hughes. Again, I could be wrong but I do not have to research anything. How does anyone who does not like this post think that I am wrong? Maybe I am right and you are wrong? Who's to say. I Love Led Zeppelin as much as anybody on this awesome forum, I try to not disparage anyone with what they post or what their opinions might be (I probably have in the past and I admit this, though I try not to anymore). My thought is, why would my original post offend anyone? I don't really care who John Bonham or Pat Bonham "slept" with. I wasn't there and could care less what happen between who and who and so and so.
  11. From what I know, John Bonham almost tried to kill Glen Hughes because Glen Hughes supposedly "slept" with Pat Bonham.
  12. I hear you and read you, but to be in the "Presence" of thousands of Black Sabbath fans, all of Us there for the same reason, is a remarkable phenomenon that cannot be duplicated, no matter how many times anyone has seen them. Just My opinion. Go, have fun and Rock Out with everyone else there waiting to hear "After Forever": I just wished they played "Sweet Leaf":
  13. Thanks!!! I do not know how many more gigs that Black Sabbath have on this "final" tour, but I highly encourage any who has a chance to see them, see them. It was a great concert with a great setlist.
  14. That was awesome. Thanks for posting it. I can't believe it has been over 6 years since Ronnie James Dio left this world. I still really do miss him.
  15. Of all the hundreds of Rock and Roll or Heavy Metal Bands, How many on this Awesome Forum can claim to have witnessed Black Sabbath last night in Dallas, Texas? Even more direct to the point, have seen Ozzy, Geezer, and Tony live on stage in the past 20 years? I just saw all three in Dallas in the middle section of the Pavilion, about the closest I could get with a "lawn ticket". I have great video footage from my phone, the problem is, is I don't know how to upload said footage.
  16. Black Sabbath just came onstage opening with "Black Sabbath". Live in Dallas, Texas.
  17. Black Sabbath this Wednesday (9/7) in Dallas, Texas. My friend who bought the tickets told me yesterday that he cannot go so he is giving me his ticket. I have asked a couple of friends if they want to go (for free) but they said that they don't know yet. If all else fails, any takers here who would like to go? (Strider, ebk, LedZeppfan1977, Walter, SAJ, zepscoda, lpman and all the others that I can't think of at this moment. All it will cost any of yous is a plane ride to the Great City called Dallas). As a last resort, I will just give the ticket to my brother (which really should be my first resort).
  18. This may or may not have been posted in this topic, regardless if it has been, this is one Fucking Hell of a Firm Gig that was, thankfully recorded professionally for posterity. I saw the Firm twice. Once in 1985 and then in 1986. Actually, I could be wrong on the years but I know that I have seen the Firm twice in two different years and when promoting two different albums.
  19. How about another from Mr. Plant from 1990? Yes, No, Maybe? I don't know about anyone else, but I saw about 3 shows from this tour, not these but the ones from the Midwest that included Saint Louis, Kansas City and Memphis.
  20. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor were two of the best comedic duos in the Movie Industry back in the late 1970'.
  21. If My thoughts or recommendations are actually taken into account or for anything, I highly suggest binge watching these shows: the Sopranos Breaking Bad Game of Thrones the Walking Dead Ray Donovan Entourage Weeds...
